This is a lovely home in a very central location. Easy to walk everywhere in WB (beach at end of the road) and a relatively short drive to Wilmington proper. The home is in great shape and very clean, with a well designed layout for 1-2 couples and/or a family. Nancy was very helpful and responsive. Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful beach house

Everything was beautiful. The only thing that I had trouble with was, I could never re-lock the front door with the key out of the key box once I open it the first time.

The house was very clean, beautifuly decorated, very spacious and a short walk to the beach and the fishing pier! Equipped with beach chairs, a sand wagon, and games in case of a rainy day. Highly recommend!

Wonderful!

We loved our stay and hope to return again! The unit was perfectly equipped with everything we needed and beautifully decorated. We loved the sunny mornings in the beautiful windows of the kitchen/family room area! The location was amazing - just a few houses in from the beach. We really appreciated the beach wagon and chairs. We also loved the cozy backyard area and outside shower - great place to wash off all the sand and sunscreen. Thank you for sharing your amazing property with us.

We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay at Sandpiper Escape over Memorial Day Weekend! The condo was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. We loved spending time on the front covered porch and that the location is on a more quiet street on WB. The owners were very friendly and had great communication before, during, and after our stay. We will definitely be back!

Unfortunate experience

We found the property well maintained and well appointed.Unfortunately, The owner sent daily messages of various complaints. The owner had sent out additional regulations three days before our stay stating we could not have unregistered guests at property. We interpreted this as overnight guests. As this was a family reunion, we invited grandma and siblings/cousins who live in Wilmington to come over for meals. The owner suggested that her video cams showed we had guests at property. I attempted to clarify that they were not overnight guests but she sent police to evict us. Our family (grandma, siblings/cousins) were very respectful of the property and were enjoying our time together. The owner refused to talk with us on the phone when we attempted to appeal the decision. We have stayed at hundreds of VRBOs and have never suffered this treatment. Because the owner cancelled the stay, she kept our money. VRBO apparently agreed with us, as they reimbursed us for our portion of the remaining days and other expenses. I wonder if this owner is an ideal person to be renting out her property. She spied on us with her cameras at all times and couldn't tell the difference between family dinners and a raucous party.

VRBO was involved in this cancellation directly. This particular guest booked our home that is set for 6 guest, but proceeded to have 15 guests at the home. This guest violated multiple house rules and vandalized our garage security camera to try and avoid having the 9 unregistered guests entering the home. We had attempted to communicate with the guest multiple times via the VRBO app and had not received replies. VRBO was contacted with evidence of the violations and unregistered guests. They reviewed the case and instructed us to contact them via the VRBO app and give them a window of 3 hours to have the unregistered guests leave or have the booking cancelled with no refund. They did not respond back and moved our garage camera. They notified us 7 hours after our request stating our cameras were faulty and threatened us to give us a bad review based on our complaints. We had neighbors contact us with photos of the 15 guests and concerns of children walking on the 2nd floor banister. We contacted VRBO a second time with evidence of the 15 unregistered guests and the vandalization of our security camera. They stated they recommended canceling the booking with no refund. They also recommended contacting the local police secondary to the nature of vandalization. The local police were called and the guest was asked to leave by both VRBO and the Police ensured no further vandalism of the property would take place. Our cleaners found damage to items, tape on the ceilings, and other evidence of poor treatment of our home. The review listed above is of a retaliatory nature and VRBO states it will be removed as per the multiple videos, photo evidence along with the VRBO policy that cancelled bookings secondary to rule violations such as this are not allowed to leave reviews as they are often retaliatory in nature such as this. VRBO also confirmed that this guest was not given a refund by VRBO. This is an unfortunate situation for us that we had never had a guest of this nature who would willingly be deceitful and disrespectful like this. If they wished to have a home to house a reunion for 15 people, they should have booked a home for 15 people. Not book one for 6 and try to hide the fact they were bringing 15 people. Our neighbors all are close and look out for each other- we were sent images of concern to the group of people that were staying there. I hope no one else has an experience like this.
