My husband and I have two grown sons and a white Labrador dog. We love to share Savary Island with others as it's such a unique, special place. Coming to our cabin means leaving it all behind and unwinding in a beautiful, natural environment and friendly community. We hope you enjoy your experience as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

Huckleberry Hideaway is a centrally located, off-grid cabin close to the general store, pub, bike rental and farmer's market. Lovely trails offer direct access to three different beautiful sandy beaches and hiking trails, all just a 5-10 minute stroll away. With its forest setting, our cabin is a peaceful oasis with great sun exposure. Sit and relax on the expansive decks: enjoy the BBQ, sitting on Adirondack chairs around the fire-pit, hang out in our sun-loungers on the deck or in our hammock. Our cabin offers septic, fresh municipal water supply (no well) and solar-sourced energy with a generator for back up if needed.

What makes this property unique

Huckleberry Hideaway is a newly renovated, 3-bedroom cabin which will entice you to leave day to day stresses behind. Two of the bedrooms have comfortable queen-sized beds and the 3rd bedroom has 2 bunk beds, one of which is elevated to take advantage of the vaulted ceiling (storage space underneath). There is an open-plan kitchen/dining area with new propane gas stove and fridge-freezer appliances, a cozy wood stove for the cooler months and ceiling fan for climate control. The dining table has additional inserts allowing 8-10 people to sit comfortably together and a large window seat for lounging in the sun. The full bathroom includes a shower-bath stall, scented toiletries and propane heater. There is a sunroom with a sofa bed and large windows revealing a full view of the sunny, park-like setting in front where deer often wander through and children can run and play. An expansive, wrap-around tiered deck offers BBQ and sun-loungers, and our garden in front of the property has a fire pit with Adirondack chairs and a hammock providing you with lots of optional areas to sit, relax and savour a cold drink.
Take a short stroll to the beautiful, white sand beaches that Savary is renowned for. South beach and Duck Bay beach are a five minute walk away. The north beach (and other forest trails) is accessed via a driftwood gate and path leading from the back of the cabin, also a short walk. In the summer, the waters are shallow and warm, perfect for swimming, paddle boarding and other water activities.
