Big home with lots to offer

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Seahorse Hideaway in June 2017 with 8 kids and 8 adults. The house was perfect for us! We never felt cramped. We ate outside on the back porch most meals and it was so pleasant! We had a great stay, the house was a short walk to the beach or the pool. When the air conditioner and the internet were not working properly, the issue was addressed immediately! The owner was a pleasure to work with! We wish there was a bigger TV in the family room and a blu-ray, as it rained 3 straight days that we were there, but it wasn't a big deal. We look forward to staying here again next year for another great week!

The property management people are great to work with, very easy terms and payment (although I wish they took American Express). Home is spacious and beautiful, well located and I would highly recommend it. Beautiful finishes, heart pine and the master bed/bath are resort quality. There are a couple of doors that need maintenance work, a couple of pieces of furniture are a bit worn as rentals tend to be, and my recommendation would be to provide more bath towels and washcloths. We bought extra towels at Walmart, as there were only a towel or two for each bedroom for the week stay (there IS a washer/dryer, so you CAN wash them if you choose). The small maintenance items or towel issues were NOTHING that would keep us from either recommending this home or staying here again, and in fact we will!

Awesome Home!

  • 5 of 5

What a great place to vacation with family and friends. The home is surrounded by a natural wildlife preserve and is perfectly situated between the beach and bay. It's private, quiet, peaceful, and absolutely gorgeous. We loved the three decks with views of the beach from the rear or the bay from out front. The kitchen den and dining rooms make up most of the main floor. They are combined into one very large room fully stocked with top of the line appliances and furnishings. We cooked two meals a day and prepared a Thanksgiving dinner with out tripping over each other. The bedrooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and each has a TV. The kids had fun fishing (playing) on the community pier....a three minute walk from the front door. It was a good time for all.....we hope to return soon.

Worn down home, Overpriced for condition of home

  • 2 of 5

Property is not as pictured, front light broken, furniture is very used. I had to mop the entire first floor ( and wash inside front door rug covered in sand) after arrival and home didn't cool till after the first 24 hours to a reasonable temperature, washing machine flooded on second time used. My in-laws were first to arrive at property and were greeted by a 6 foot snake that moved between this house and next door the entire trip. Our children were warned by other residents about the copperheads on the walkway to the back community dock (and yes they saw them). The house didn't have enough towels and wash clothes in each bathroom.

The house appears to be for sale and no one has gone to really see the very used torn condition it is on. Also greenery in back very overgrown (hard to see beach) so we didn't try the path picture to the beach for fear of finding more snakes on the way. At night, the "Nest" AC control would take the upstairs from 68-70 to 80, so we would wake up almost every night sweating, and have to go reset it to 70. We would not return to this home but sure others in the area are good. This one is overpriced for the quality and location of the home. It also pictured a dock out front in pictures which isn't part of this home, it is the neighbors private dock.

Great family stay at the Seahorse Hideaway!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed with another family in late March 2016 for a Spring Break getaway and could not have been more pleased with the property. There were a total of four adults and five children ranging in ages from 3 to 9 and we had PLENTY of room and never felt like we were ever on top of each other. The multiple decks on each side of the home always ensured that we had an outside area in which to sit regardless of rain, sun or wind, and the quiet cul-du-sac location was great piece of mind for parents of kids who like to run outside! The views of the lagoon and ocean were spectacular and the walk to both the beach and the community pool and tennis/basketball courts were at most (an easy) five minutes. I had some concerns about the property going in given some of the past reviews, but after a full week down there I can say the negative reviews are unfounded. There is certainly some wear and tear on the home consistent with a beach rental, but nothing that impacted the quality of the stay whatsoever. We were provided with plenty of towels and linens, and the kitchen is well stocked to prepare any meal. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend the home to anyone and look forward to when we can return again! Thanks, Seahorse Hideaway!

Beautiful home to spend holiday with entire family. The house is located in a quiet area. The kitchen was perfect for cooking Thanksgiving dinner. Our family had a wonderful time. We will be back. Thank you!
