Perfect spot with all the necessities. Fairly new structure with an oven, blender, toaster, coffee pot, etc. It’s only 4 miles down Terlingua Ranch Road. Close to the parks, Terlingua Ghost Town, Study Butte, and other attractions. Very spacious shower and bath. Nice home base for your vacation.
Spent a couple of days here as our base of operations while we visted Big Bend National Park. It was nice after a day of hiking to retire back at this little home to grill and recover in the AC.
We absolutely loved our stay! The house was very well maintained and had all the necessary amenities. The location was perfect—close to Big Bend, which made exploring easy. One of the highlights was enjoying the stunning night sky right from the property. Highly recommended!
This was a great home base for us to explore Big Bend and the surrounding area. Our biggest priority was seeing a really dark night sky, and the location was isolated enough that we had no stray light from anywhere else - we got great photos of the Milky Way on our first night. It is about 30 minutes away from the park entrance and the park itself takes a lot of time to drive across, so you might want to be a lot closer if your goal is being on the trails early.Daryl and Janet were great hosts who communicated everything clearly and answered the very few questions we had quickly. Everything is laid out in the info PDF you're sent after booking. The cabin is quite spacious compared to other pricier options. The kitchen was large enough for us to cook in and had everything we needed for a short stay, but I'd bring one of my knives with me if I came again - I understand having serrated knives for durability in a rental, but they're hard to use if you're chopping a lot of things. Basically, bring the important/specialty stuff with you. The was plenty of drinking water, and the bathroom was fully stocked. The third bed being a twin in the hallway instead of the sofa would be great for a family with a child. The driveway doesn't need a high-clearance vehicle. If you log into your streaming account on the TV, don't forget to log out. There really are desert quail running around the place in the mornings!
This little cabin was perfect, clean, modern and in an amazing location away from it all. We loved seeing the sun rise and set lighting up distant mountains. For its remoteness the cabin has everything you need, great hot shower, well equipped kitchen and cozy living area space. Best of all was the front porch where we enjoyed evening sun after hiking all day at Big Bend. A fascinating place to stay.
House was perfect for the two of us. It was easy to find on a paved road. It had all the amenities we needed for a great stay. I would recommend this for a trip to big bend and surrounding area. Managers were great to communicate with.
The property was clean, fresh, and an Oasis in the desert. We didn't realize water was so scarce in the area, but the cabin has water for a nice shower at the end of the day following a long hike.
Good place, very quiet, clean, well designed, has a nice fire pit outside to sit down and relax.Fits a couple plus one, or anything less.Has pretty much everything you need. The host responds quickly. One note - this is about 30 minutes drive from Terlingua. I personally love it cause I planned to get away, so if you are too - this might be the spot for you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Desert Quail Oasis. It was perfect for our small family, conveniently located, and fully stocked with everything we needed from a generous supply of towels, blankets, pillows, cleaning supplies, water, toiletries, dishes, condiments etc. Could tell there was a lot of thought put into every detail. Very clean, modern and comfortable. Highly recommend!
We had an incredible time staying at this beautiful home near Big Bend! The accommodations were perfect—spacious, clean, and beautifully designed. It had everything we needed and more, from a fully stocked kitchen to cozy beds and modern amenities. The location was also ideal for exploring the Big Bend area—peaceful, private, and with stunning views. The property management were super responsive and made sure we had everything we needed, from check-in to check-out. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to visit the Big Bend area—it's the perfect home base!
This is the place to be if you’re looking for silence and relaxation…. Noises things you’ll hear is sound of the breeze and nature communicating with itself and an occasional car … you are secluded moderately just know that and be prepared! I will definitely be back again!
The Desert Quail Oasis was just that... a great spot to relax after hiking and exploring in Big Bend National Park. We loved sitting on the porch watching a lightening storm in the distance as well as the lovely mountains all around. After a much needed rain, it was fun to see a covey of desert quail running around the property! The place was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Our only complaint is that the water doesn't smell very good. Water is such an issue in this desert environment. Great place to stay!
We so enjoyed our stay at Desert Oasis. It is a perfect location from Big Bend National Park (about a twenty minute drive). The directions for getting to the house are spot on. It is a very cozy and comfortable place to stay. The kitchen had everything we needed for our meals and the beds and ample number of pillows are exceptional. The heat and ac worked very well. We did not had to make any changes to the settings. We enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings listening to nature and observing the stars. The shower was just right to recharge after long hours of hiking. We definitely recommend this accommodation.
