PR Condo on the beach

The Condo was nice right on the beach, but it could use some repairs (Front & Patio locks Closet Doors, A/C)

Amazing view

We had a great time at this oceanfront condo. The view is stunning. Check in and check out super easy. Douglas very responsive when we had a question about the clothes dryer. Palmas Del Mar is a very nice resort with the feel of a town. The beach is so beautiful. We went swimming in calm days and really enjoyed the clear water and soft sand. This condo was the perfect home base for our family's Puerto Rico adventures. .

This property was perfect for our “girls trip”. Felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Property supplied beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards. The view from the porch was gorgeous. Only complaint is the temperature in the condo. The main level and master bedroom was chilly while the other two bedrooms were at least 15-20 degrees warmer. There were several fans, so we made it work. The path next to the condo was perfect for walking to dinner each night, and brunch during the day. Very picturesque!

Great property / Bad Air Conditioning System / Pest Control

Great property and location, but the air conditioning system isn’t good at all. Is wrongly sized for the property size/layout or lacking of a good maintenance service.Also, it needs pest control services. I saw a service report the owner keeps visible in the kitchen cabinets, but definitely they’re not getting a good service. There were cockroaches in the kitchen cabinets, bathrooms and bathrooms.

SHORT VISIT

Location was amazing. Just feet from the Ocean. However, thought this Villa had recently been renovated but I think it still needs some updates, work and repairs. Walls and doors seem to have water damage. The AC upstairs did not cool the rooms well and doors to the decks did not open/close properly. Although our time in the villa was limited, I was a bit disappointed with the overall condition of the unit.

We appreciate the comments from our guests. The building recently had the roof tiles replaced and hence caused some minor water damage to the walls. We are currently painting the affected areas. We are also currently working on the balcony doors so that they open easier. The ac was installed last year, hence is a new unit. AC tech will be checking on the vents to make sure the air flows better to the upper bedroom.

Amazing place with one issue

I would stay here again. Stayed with a family of 5 and everyone was comfortable. The view is amazing. Beach was great and we swam in the ocean every day. (didn't try the pool so can't comment) The property is in great condition and the owner has stocked it with all the necessities including beach chairs/umbrella/cooler. The ONE ISSUE as others have mentioned in their reviews is the Nest thermostat. We never turned the thermostat below 72, which seems pretty reasonable for Puerto Rico. That said, multiple nights we all woke up because the condo was too hot. The owner must have some program that raises the temperature automatically at night. This place is not inexpensive, it is worth the money, but this "nickel and dime" approach to air conditioning really detracted from our stay.

Thank you for your feedback. We will replace the Nest Thermostat. We do not control it, guests have full control of the temperature setting. Unfortunately, we believe some guests experimented with the settings and something went wrong. It is paramount that our guests enjoy every comfort of the Villa. This issue will be corrected immediately. We are very sorry for this inconvenience. We are also glad that your stay was otherwise enjoyable.

Loved it

We stayed here for two weeks- May 11-25 2024. The property is very nice, as pictured on the photos. The kitchen has everything you need for an extended stay. There are two beach umbrellas and 4 chairs at the property. Air conditioning worked without any issues (some issues were mentioned in previous reviews, we did not have any). Second week we worked from this location, so we used Wi Fi a lot, it was Ok. Basically, we had a nice and comfortable stay. The beach started bringing in some seaweed (sargasses type) at some point, but we noticed that it comes and goes. There were periods throughout the day with clear water, and then (with high tide? not sure) patches of seaweeds would start floating in. We talked to locals, and they said it was all clear water up to the previous week, so it is may be seasonal? There are several nice restaurants within walking distance (at Wyndham and at Palmanova plaza), and a convenience store. It's a very nice neighborhood with everything you need close by. I would stay here again.

Pool & beach issue

The property listing appeared as if access to the great pool complex was included. The only pool included is a smaller pool typically of what you’d find at a roadside hotel. Douglas offered to sign us into the beach club which we did twice at $15pp. This added up - I’d have liked to go there in the afternoons instead of an entire day to get our $66 worth. Benches were also not swimable due to massive amounts of seaweed. When I asked where to go, a beach 1 hr away was recommended which wasn’t great. Electricity in condo was a little questionable. Two sockets had rust and sparked , hall lights flickered combined with tapping from Neighboring units under construction wasn’t great. Owner also controlled AC while we were in the unit using the NEST app which was annoying. I did love going to PR but wished pool and beach could have provided more entertainment for us.

It is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay. We would like to address some of your complaints: The air conditioner is never controlled by us, the thermostat is set to the Eco friendly setting at 72 degrees. The pictures of our beautiful pool area and the description of the amenities are accurate, no other pools are mentioned. Regarding the beaches: seaweed is a natural phenomena which afflicts the Caribbean, Mexico and parts of Florida - sometimes we get it, sometimes we don't. An electrician is inspecting the sockets and flickering lights (we were not aware of a problem since no one has ever mentioned it). Finally, we have no control over our neighbor's weekday remodeling. Quiet getaway

We enjoyed the wonderful oceanside views from the balcony! The condo had many accessories to use for the beach. It was spacious for our family of seven. Loved the quiet side of Puerto Rico!

Best of a rough situation

We arrived 2 days before the island was “shut down” d/t coronavirus. Douglas was amazing at communicating how to make the best out of a difficult situation- he answered phone calls at all hours, as things seemed to change hourly. So we will definitely be back to get to experience more of Puerto Rico and I definitely recommend this condo and Douglas to anybody

Great Vacation

We had a wonderful family vacation here. The condo was clean and well stocked, both kitchen and beach gear. Just a few steps from the beach with soft sand and mellow waves. Douglas was great to work with, responsive and accomodating. I would definately rent with him again.
