About Carl Coolidge

We love mountains, rivers, and wildlife. Our son and family live in White Salmon. Our home is in Zillah, WA. We're retired from public education jobs. Our daughters also work in education in the Spokane area. We enjoy our cabin on the scenic, beautiful Klickitat River.

Carl Coolidge purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Carl Coolidge chose Klickitat

We think the Columbia Gorge is such a beautiful area and it is close to our son and his family.

What makes this cabin unique

We watch the wild turkeys, blue jays, bald eagles and deer come around the cabin. We have fun rafting and boating the river, as well as fishing. It is fun to hike and walk in the canyon. RV site available but no sewer; there is electricity and water but amps are probably not enough for an air conditioner.

What a great little cabin!

  • 5 of 5

What a great little cabin! We spent 2 nites in early Oct.2017. Located right on the river which is very accessible. Super amenities...up-to-date and numerous appliances (wifi, satelite tv, phone, booth tooth). Very nicely furnished. We're a senior aged couple and the only problem for us was the circular stairs needed to get to the upstairs bedroom (a little tight and narrow). Could be trouble if you had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. We used downstairs Murphy foldout bed which was very comfortable. Overall we had an excellent stay. Would do it again. Carl, the manager, was super.

Very nice stay.

  • 4 of 5

We thought there was 1 bedroom, so were surprised when there was only a loft. The staircase to the loft looked a bit tricky but we managed it OK. Could have used some stronger light at night in the cabin, maybe some brighter bulbs would work. We were disappointed that the DVD was not working, we had planned to watch some movies during the evening. Other then that we really enjoyed our stay. We had a great time fishing every day at the cabin, that was a real treat being able to get up in the morning put on are cloths and go down to the river and put our fishing rods in the river. We would come back to stay again another time. Thank-you, Olivia Holderman

RELAXING VISIT

  • 5 of 5

Such a nice relaxing place right on the river. So enjoyable to watch kayakers and fishermen drift by in front of the window - better than TV. We slept on the murphy bed as the stairs were a bit difficult for us oldies. Also was a very hot weekend, but the AC kept us very comfortable. We would love to go back, but there are too many other places we want to explore on our bucket list. :)

Wonderful stay on a beautiful river!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed ourselves at this cabin. Beautiful--though not entirely secluded--and well-kept property, and the river and canyon view was simply lovely. Cabin itself was charming and had all the basics, including washer/dryer. We enjoyed talking to fishermen as they passed and playing on the little beach with our young kids. Also loved exploring the area, with fun day trips to Maryhill and to Horsethief Lake. Tight spiral staircase could be challenging to some. We'll be back!

Loved this place in paradise! Wish we had spent our entire time there instead of in Goldendale for the Santana concert at Maryhill Winery! We will be back!
