We rented this home for our wedding weekend in New Hope. The owners were very easy to communicate with and made planning the weekend a breeze. It is such a wonderful home and slept everyone in our bridal party (and then some!) comfortably. Since a majority of the rooms having their own private bathroom made it feel very private for our guests and it felt like we were staying in our own private BnB. We had the rehearsal dinner there the night before and had about 6 people cooking in the kitchen at the same time with ease. My make up and hair artist came to the property and myself and the rest of the girls got ready in the in law suite while the boys played pool in the billard, it was so easy to not see my fiance before hand because of how spacious the home is. We took some of our wedding photos on the property and the backdrop was absolutely gorgeous. Sunday we watched football in the theater on the big screen and on the tv outside, such a treat! We loved having the private cottage on the property also, it was a nice escape for my new husband and I. We were calling it our 'honeymoon suite'. My only complaint was that the cottage had a weird smell, it was a very damp weekend so that may have had something to do with it. Everyone is still talking about how beautiful the home was! We are thinking about having a get together at the property with everyone on our anniversary because we loved staying here so much. It was hard to go back to reality!
The pictures do not do this house justice, the estate was gorgeous! Richard and Kim were both very easy to work with and made booking our stay very simple. The house and grounds were both very clean. We booked the estate for a long weekend getaway with 20 or so friends and we were all blown away. Beds were comfy and the pool was perfect since we were there during a heat wave! I would highly recommend this house for reunions, friends trips, etc! Thanks again :)
There were 20 of us that gathered in New Hope for a reunion for the weekend and we stayed at this property. It was large, private, quiet, clean, had bedrooms and bedrooms and bedrooms, and was perfect for us. The Owners could not have been nicer. Thank you very much!
First I have to say the property was simply amazing. The grounds were beautiful and the setting ideal. The house is enormous with every accommodation you could ask for. The best part is the outdoor living area and pool. The consierg and the owner made our stay one that we will all remember, iespecially my 3 yr old who cought a 4+ pound bass in the pond. He hasn't stopped talking about it. Great Great Great.
My family met at the house for a reunion over the 4th. Overall, the house provided an excellent setting for our weekend. There was plenty of space to stretch out and features such as the pool table, movie room and salt water pool were very well used. The outdoor area and backyard were a perfect setting to sit and chat or play some backyard games while the kids splashed in the pool. We were even able to see a few fireworks from the neighbors!
That said, there were several small things that served as a constant reminder that the owner is primarily interested in selling the house rather than running it as a rental. Things such as no shades/curtains in some bedrooms, no clocks, no wastebaskets in many bathrooms (despite the understandable rule against flushing feminine products), leaky faucets, slow drains, no hand towels in bathrooms, etc. All of these were minor but a distraction from an otherwise relaxing weekend.
We also encountered a few larger issues with the property that put a damper on things. First, the house only has 9 bedrooms, not 10 as advertised. After calling the owner about it, he mentioned something about fitting two beds in one room then promised to call me back before hanging up. I never heard back from him. We were also treated to some pretty foul smells from the second kitchen, a result of old food and trash that had not been cleaned out until my uncle took it upon himself to do so. Finally, the dishwasher in the primary kitchen was completely out of order (the entire front panel was missing!) so most meals were eaten on paper plates.
This is a lovely house and with a few relatively minor changes and some TLC could serve as a wonderful rental or B&B. We enjoyed our time but I can’t help but be a little disappointed that the property didn’t live up to its obvious potential.
SHE CAN made its debut at this luxurious estate. SHE CAN was a weekend planned to help women learn and implement positive habits that would set them on the right track for better health and wellness. Looking for a house to accomodate all the activities we were offering was no easy task. However, when our staff stepped foot into this beautiful country setting house, we were sold. It's difficult to find a house with private baths to almost every bedroom. The bedroom sizes are spacious and clean. The kitchen is a chef's dream. It was important to have a state of the art kitchen for our holistic chef, who are presenting and teaching to our guests for most of the meals. In addition, the first floor was spacious enough to offer yoga classes as well as having our expert speakers presenting to our participants. The reviews we received from our weekend guests were extraordinary. We believe we presented some great material and helped to motivate these women to get their lives back on track, but without doubt this home is what made our first event so memorable! In addition, the owner was very accommodating with respect to a few our special requests. We cannot wait to host another event is this masterpiece of a home! (shecanweekend.com)
