Thanks for the comments. I'm aware the extractor wasn't working during your visit, but as far as I know they're was nothing else that would have caused us to get your rating. It's our house, and we use it ourselves. While it's not totally immaculate, it's very clean, very tidy and very good value given it's position and accommodation. We are also about to undertake a complete refurb ready for the Spring and Summer 2025

Its great to hear, thanks so much. Im planning on making a new path down through the woods this winter, it will take a more direct path. For those who have trouble using steps etc then the other route via the public footpath will always be a good alternative. We'd love to have you again. TIm

Lorna, many thanks for your comments. As we had said, covid presented the island with significant issues regarding getting things done ready for the season. The path down to the beach is closed so the alternative route is down via the pavement which is how most people go,. The trampoline will be replaced this winter, if we can get one. I take issue with the 'many places are stained and old' this is absolutely not the case. However all said I'm glad you had a good stay, and we are hoping normality brings a chance to bring the house fully up to spec this year.

Mike, sorry you didnt think the house was up to spec. Its decorated as a beach house, thats to say its relaxed and informal, this way our guests don't feel too precious about children etc enjoying themselves. Its a house we have decorated for ourselves as our own holiday house, and thankfully all our guests seem to like it.

Wow.. what a lovely wintery scene! I'm so glad you got local as well. There is lots of good restaurants nearby and Cowes is getting busier and busier even in the winter now. The beaches and downs are perfect for dogs and children and very often you can be the only ones there. I'm just as happy there in the winter especially with a roaring log fire going.

The dishwasher is virtually brand new and no one else has had a problem, so i suspect it was operator error. Summer can be a time for mosquitos and flies and Im sorry you found some inside the house. The sofas are new and huge and comfy, so Im slightly mystified as to what you would have preferred, its the first time anyones had a bad word to say. Sometimes a rainy stay means we have to bear the brunt of a guests frustration.

Really sorry you didn't find the house as clean as we would have demanded, we had an issue with the changeover housekeepers. Unfortunately when it rains the deck does get slippery despite cleaning and the path to the beach is through a wood and can be wet in Winter, its hard to flag up for all eventualities.

This is possibly the weirdest review we have ever had. . We don't advertise a hot tub... Never have done. Middle bedroom has french windows with a wonderful view opening directly onto the deck outside. We checked the lock.. and had no problem opening the door. We charged £60 quid because the guest left absolutely filthy muddy white towels that had clearly been used to wipe down children and or dogs .. They left a broken dish on the fireplace didn't even bother to hide it. They made no attempt to clean up when they left, the house was a pig sty. The beach is down through a wood, with all the rain the path would have been impassable, but given the house overlooks the sea, their sense of direction must have been missing. There is a paved route as an alternative. They didn't ' list a child' not that it makes any difference as we welcome children. However we don't welcome people who have zero respect for other peoples property and we won't be renting to them again.
