The front garden of Tropical Hideaway features a vibrant, original metal sculpture by John Martini, an internationally renowned artist who resides in Key West. The sculpture is titled “Breton’s Ballet.” Martini’s sculptures are shown in galleries and museums in New Mexico, Paris, and Italy, as well as in Lucky Street Gallery in Key West. Bold, electric colors characterize Martini’s work, which he creates by cutting metal with torches. These torches leave burn marks that are a hallmark of his sculptures.
A garden courtyard and whitewashed fence buffer your private hideaway from a central common area. Cool off in the sparkling blue swimming pool, or doze poolside on a cushioned lounge chair. This swimming pool will delight families, children, the very young, and the young at heart. The pool-side deck features a gas grill and two wrought-iron picnic tables with seating for eight or more. Gather for an afternoon cookout in paradise! Mature palms, mango trees, and vibrant bougainvillea shade the pool deck. Thank you so much! We take great pride in ensuring our home is exactly as described, and we're thrilled that the cleanliness and location met your expectations. Knowing that our management team was able to support you during your stay is wonderful to hear. We’ve already got the calendar ready for your return next year, see you then!
Great location. The pool was amazing. The front porch is awesome. The kitchen is not very well equipped with some of the basics that you would expect to be there. The furnishings could use an upgrade to make it more comfortable but all in all we had a wonderful stay.

Thank you for the review! We are so glad you enjoyed the front porch and that the pool was a highlight of your stay, there’s nothing quite like that Key West outdoor living.
We also truly appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the kitchen and furnishings. Your input helps us improve, and we would love to welcome you back to see those updates in the future!
There is nothing quite like a Key West morning on the front porch! We are so happy you found it to be a relaxing spot to soak in the tropical vibes. We take a lot of pride in our outdoor spaces, and we’re thrilled it helped make your stay so peaceful. Come back and visit us again!
This place was great!!! Location was walking distance to everything. The pool was amazing , it felt like our own little resort. We enjoyed having coffee on the patio and watching the birds and iguanas in the trees.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay Keri! The iguanas are certainly one of Key West's more interesting quirks! We can't wait for you to come stay with us again.
The hosts were very welcoming. The pool heater and laundry were both broken so unusable during the trip. They did offer that we could come use the pool and their office but that didn’t work for us. Otherwise, the space was clean and comfortable. The location was great.

Thank you for your kind words about our team and the home’s comfort. We sincerely apologize that the pool heater and laundry were unavailable during your stay. We would love the chance to host you again and provide the 5-star experience you deserve!
The property is nice for those not wanting to spend time at the pool. The pool is very nice but the coldest pool temperature I have ever felt. I understand the time of year but it was unusable. A TV for watching games would have been a plus. Everything else net our expectations

Thank you for your feedback! We are so glad the property met your expectations otherwise. We sincerely apologize that the pool temperature.
We also appreciate the suggestion about the outdoor TV, we are always looking for ways to improve our 'game day' experience! We hope to welcome you back!
Cute little 2 bed 1 bath with a balcony in perfect location. Free parking on the street, 2 mins to beach, 5 mins to grocery store and cafe, 10 mins to restaurants,15 mins to the downtown bars but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. For casual, convenient accommodation this is great.
There was a mouse that got into our bread. Other than that it was great!

Maryanne, thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, during the colder months, this can be a common occurrence on the island. However, we addressed the issue immediately by contacting pest control. We are glad to hear that your stay was great, aside from this situation.
This was our first trip to Key West. With our daughter nearing the age that she will soon be off and doing her own thing, we wanted to get in one more vacation with her. The Tropical Utopia was such a great place to stay. The weather wasn't the best when we arrived there, but we enjoyed having drinks on the covered porch and watching the storms. Our daughter brought her best friend with her and the girls loved spending afternoons lazing in the pool, listening to music. We even got to meet the resident Iguana who came to check us out one of those afternoons. The host, Clark, was very nice to chat with and very hospitable. We really liked how close we were to Duval St and a short bike ride away from most of the attractions, such as Mallory Square. if you are looking for a nice, clean home away from home for vacation, this is the spot! We look forward to staying here on our next trip to Key West.

Thank you so much for the 5 star review! We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope you will come back to visit again soon.
My family and I stayed in this beautiful property on our trip down to Key West. The location is PERFECT. It is within easy distance of Higgs Beach, Knight Pier, and the walk to Smathers Beach is pretty easy, too. Three blocks in the other direction takes you to the Southernmost Point, and just two blocks down gets you to one end of Duval Street. It's easy to find, as most of the main thoroughfares for walking dead-end into South Street. The property itself was very well maintained, the owner kept in touch with me via text, and it was very quiet. We already said we would love to stay here again on subsequent trips, I look forward to it!One note, just in case you miss it in the description of the property or are unfamiliar with Key West, all parking is curbside, but I was always able to find a nearby space on South Street. Resident parking is very clearly marked with white paint that says "Resident Permit," so avoid any such spaces and you should be fine!Places nearby to try as of July 2025: Rooster Treats on the corner of Simonton and South (one block away) has delicious ice cream and donuts. Frenchies cafe (go up Simonton one block and turn left, it's on your right) has fantastic coffee and macarons and their portions are generous. Thanks so much for the wonderful stay! It was a week in paradise and we'll definitely be back!
