Wonderful, very well equipped and located quiet beachfront home.
Enjoyed walking on the beach, the artwork and hot tub. The fireplace worked very well.will be back, a bit later in the spring as end of March was cold and windy.
Love love loved it! As soon as you walk in the front door you can see the ocean thru the large windows. The kitchen is to die for, had amazing sleeps on the bed. You cannot beat the view. Every morning I'd have a coffee and just sit and stare out at the water. I was sad to have to leave. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Beauty in Qualicum Bay
Wow! Spectacular view, amazing hot tub, incredibly comfortable bed, gourmet kitchen large enough for two people to 'chef' with enough equipment to prepare those yummy fish meals, great large flat screen TV, comfortable furniture, excellent wood burning fireplace with plenty of clean firewood, a clean and tidy place with nice art work, and in a location with numerous wonderful walking opportunities. Tomm's grocery for a nice food selection is 2.5 miles North and Fanny Bay Seafood shop at the Buckley Bay Ferry Terminal for delicious seafood is about 11 miles North. What more could one ask for? We are hoping to return!
The view is the best part of this rental. Every time you look out the window the view changes, the colour of the sky and the sea, and the wildlife, it was great.
We enjoyed touring the island again after nearly 20 years and it was a good home base for us. It had everything we needed, well equipped.
It is on a hi way and was a bit noisy at times, starting early in the morning and going late in the evening.
The other thing is the bottom of the house is also a rental, the fellows downstairs were a rather boisterous group at times and we could hear them.
It is unfortunate that this guest experienced noise from the lower floor. It is rarely a problem as the lower suite has all been professionally soundproofed as well as can be done with forced air heating. In this case it was a group of fisherman that came for the fall fishing season and must have been far too boisterous. That is the first time this has occurred in such a manner.
Great time. Great view. Love the beach
House was everything we expected. Close to everything we wanted to do. We would stay here again
A Wonderful Place to Stay
Had a great week! We loved the location and the house had everything we needed! It's comfortable and roomy. We enjoyed watching the seals and eagles and walking the sandbar at low tide! We hope to do it all again!

Kayak and paddleboard rentals can be found in Qualicum Beach, 15 minutes drive at Outsider Adventures at ; Courtenay, 30 minutes north of here at Comox Valley Kayaks and Canoes ; or Tree Island Kayaking . The last two provide day trips to the magnificent Sandy Island Marine Provincial Park (also known as Tree Island) which we highly recommend or launch the kayak at the beach at Qualicum Bay, a nice semi-rural community. Close to Island Scallops, Fanny Bay Oysters, excellent oysters and seafood there are a number of places where you can buy fresh fish. There are excellent farmer's markets at Qualicum Beach, 15 minutes drive, ; in Errington, 20 minutes drive, erringtonfarmersmarket.ca; and Comox Valley Farmers Market in Courtenay, 30 minutes drive, . Getting here: You will take BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo, or from Tsawwassen to Duke Point, arriving fifteen minutes south of Nanaimo, These are current schedules, but it's good to check as the schedule can change. We recommend that you make a reservation as in the summer the ferries can get booked which can mean waiting for the next ferry. Once in Nanaimo - you take Highway 19A . We recommend 19A as it is the older route that follows the coast, slower but more scenic and takes about one hour or more. Highway 19, the freeway, takes 45 minutes and you use the Horne Lake, Spider Lake exit and drop down to 19A, Island Highway West, and left (north-west) for aprox., three miles to Qualicum Bay. We are located at Qualicum Bay ... on the ocean side. The best landmark is the Crown and Anchor Roadhouse Pub on the other side of the road about 200 meters from the house. The pub has good local music (bluegrass, country, acoustic etc) and the food is pretty decent. The Sandbar Café, 300 meters is a pleasant restaurant with live music jams several nights a week and Henry’s Kitchen a Chinese restaurant near by. A burger stand, taco stand and ice cream shop open for the summer in the same area.
