This home was the 2nd home built at Sunriver. It is a very private home bordering a large common area. The home is all built on one-level so after a long day skiing or biking, you won't have to hike up and down stairs to get to and from the bedrooms or other living areas.

This home is located among the tall Ponderosa Pines with a beautiful landscaped backyard bordering a spacious common area well away from any busy roads. A BBQ, patio furniture and a private hot tub are on the large deck just off the living area for those hot summer nights and early morning sunrises.

The fully stocked kitchen has everything you will need for all your meals during your stay. This home is approx. 1400 sf. of living space. The living room has a TV and a beautiful gas fireplace for those chilly winter nights. There are four bedrooms and three full bathrooms.

There are two championship 18 hole golf courses, twenty outdoor tennis courts and over 40 miles of bike paths for your outdoor enjoyment. Enjoy a 10 minute walk to the Village Mall or a short distance to Fort Rock Park.

So, enjoy your vacation in this cozy home in Sunriver along with all the activities there is to offer. Either biking, swimming, golfing or skiing it's all here for your enjoyment.

Why Andrew Fields chose Sunriver

We purchased this home for our 25th wedding anniversary! We celebrated our 50th Anniversary this past Summer with our 4 children and 21 grandchildren (we rented 4 other homes).

What makes this house unique

We love to relax and read a book or walk through the Sunriver Plaza and shop.

We also like to eat a warm bowl of oatmeal at the table in the early mornings and watch the wildlife walk past the two large windows in the living room.

Kind of dingy

If I had to sum up our impression in one word, it would be "dingy." The home is advertised as the 2nd home built in SR. Its age shows, but wouldn't if it were better maintained.

Though it was an okay place, there were so many little things (and a big thing or two), that it rates as the worst experience we have had with renting a vacation home. We have stayed in lots of properties, and have never experienced one like this.

Upon approaching the front door, we noticed that the edge plank of the deck at the top of the steps is set at an angle (tipping down toward the step). As this is an area that experiences snow and ice, this is an accident waiting to happen. One wrong step, or a person who is unsteady, and you could have an ugly situation.

The first night, we moved the couch to play games and found a goldfish cracker. Not the worst thing, but makes you wonder what other housekeeping shortcuts have occurred. We didn't have to wonder long when we noticed the cobwebs in the door frames and atop a lampshade. When we turned on the fireplace (using the wonky knob), the carpet all around it was crusted with cobwebs and debris--gross! The doors all need scrubbing with a magic eraser. The pillows are bricks.

The under sink kitchen trash can was falling apart on both ends, making it challenging to move---what an easy thing that would be to fix, but alas, pride of ownership is not evident in this property.

There was straight up black mold in one bathroom. The hot tub didn't work for 2 of the 4 nights we stayed there. The owner was prompt in his communication, but that didn't help with 2 of the nights when we would have liked to soak and couldn't. We found a cheerio under the coffee table another night. This time, it didn't surprise us.

Upon leaving, I contacted the owner (giving him the benefit of the doubt), telling him about the cleaning problems and sending photos. I was unsure if he was aware of the job his service was doing. I also felt a price adjustment may have been in order, especially considering the hot tub issue (a big deal for a ski vacation). He replied that it is a home, and if I wanted a higher level of cleanliness, I should stay at the lodge next time. He also threw doubt on our hot tub story, saying that it couldn't have happened as we said it did. Again, we have stayed in many places and have actually owned a hot tub. We have never had trouble like that! He was uninterested in our concerns. It was disappointing. Beware of this place!

Owner's Response: This guest was difficult from the time they arrived. First, they didn't read any of the welcome material which meant they didn't know who to call when they had a problem with the hot tub, or to turn on the hot water heater when they arrived; they blamed us for these issues. Second, the communication about the hot tub issues didn't add up. The hot tub is serviced weekly by a company that services 80+% of the hot tubs in Sunriver. I spoke with the owner and he couldn't reconcile how a hot tub could be 80 degrees at 8:30 am and then when he arrived at 9:45 am be 103 degrees when it was 20 degrees outside. Normal increase in temps for a hot tub when it is that cold outside are 2-3 degrees/hr. However, this is what we were told by the guests. Of course, had the guests contacted the hot tub service company directly (as the welcome material they didn't read says they are to do) it is possible the issue could have been resolved more quickly than working through a person 3+ hours away. And it wasn't us that challenged their "hot tub story;" it was the hot tub service company. Third, the entire home was cleaned and the carpets shampooed 3 days before they arrived. It was obvious as guests they were looking for things to "justify" getting a reduced stay. Unfortunately, this is how some guests act. They expect to pay $275/nt and receive the same experience as if they paid $1000/nt in the lodge (for the same number of guests). I would tell any future guest the same thing I told this guest. If you want to stay in a room that is cleaned with a toothbrush between each guest, with an on-site concierge to respond to your every whim 24x7, and on-site maintenance to fix every problem you might have, stay in the Sunriver Lodge. It is $195/nt for double-occupancy. Has No kitchen. No private hot tub. No private BBQ. No private kitchen. No private living room. No private dining room. No private deck. No private parking, mere feet from the door. However, if you want those things, and want to pay 1/3 the price, and are aware that the home will have been lived in before you, perhaps by guests with children who might have dropped a goldfish cracker in the couch that just now came out when you moved it, you can stay in our home. Yes, there are trade-offs. They exist in the price. Our home is not a hotel (although we do own one in Alaska). We will still attempt to ensure your stay is enjoyable (as we attempted for these guests), but we have limits. Thank you.

We had a great stay, we have stayed here a few times now, nice location, roomy house, Well stocked, as in any rental, there are small issues but nothing to prevent you from having a great stay.

The house was very comfortable for all of us!

The house had everything that we needed. One night we celebrated a birthday with 20 guests. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The location is great. Easy walk or ride to the park and all downhill to the Sharc. There is so much to do in and around the area. We went to locations we had not been to even after 4 trips to Sunriver. Still more to see for next time.

Great house for a group stay.

6 of us stayed for 3 nights and truly enjoyed our stay. The design of the house puts the 2 master bedrooms on either side of the house which was nice. The pictures are deceiving; there is more room than it appears. Everything was clean. We had deer in the backyard while we hot tubbed (which was heaven after playing tennis for hours). People have left behind a lot of useful supplies and we added to it. Driveway had plenty of room for 4 vehicles. We didn't use many of the amenities as we were otherwise occupied but appreciated them being there just in case (bikes, ping pong table, SHARC passes). Had trouble with WiFi password when we first arrived but the owner was very responsive when we called and we figured it out.
