The ambience of “South Wind on the Ocean” Resort and our condo in particular, is an important element in your rental decision. A discriminating renter would ask, “Is this 2nd floor South Wind condo a good match for me, my family and/or my friends?” Here is what we would offer for your consideration;

LOCATION-We are located at the north end of the Golden Mile. The location is primarily expensive residential beach homes. There are no tattoo parlors or gaudy beach stores in the neighborhood. The pace is slower, there are fewer people around and the absence of commercialization is striking. Loud partying and other disturbances are frowned upon and are cause for your premature departure from South Wind. This resort is an escape to quiet living; a family friendly resort. But you are a few minutes from all the activity and commercialism you want, when you want it. You can get a good night’s rest here and wake to the sights and sounds of the pounding surf.

FURNISHINGS-You should think of this condo as a home, not as a hotel/motel room or even a typical rental property. It is roomy, luxurious and comfortable with top-of-the-line furniture and appointments. It is a virtual art gallery with (15) beautiful wall-hung prints. The entire condo is tastefully color coordinated as is obvious from our photos.

CONVENIENCE-Parking is actually a few steps from the condo and on the same level. You don’t have to pay for parking, don’t have to cross a busy street after you park your car, don’t need shuttling to and from a parking garage, don’t need valet parking and you don’t need to unload at the resort and park some distance away.

There are no gates hampering your entrance or exit from the resort. There are no parking garages that circle you around again and again, before paying and exiting. No parking passes, no swimming pool passes, no beach passes and no exercise room passes are required. The condo is entered using a touch pad code, so no keys are required for your entire vacation. Also, you shouldn’t need the elevator. One flight of steps down and you are on ground level with swimming pool and beach access.

THE VIEW-There is a beautiful direct view of the beach and ocean from our 2nd floor condo, where you can actually see people on the beach and around the swimming pool. The people, including your own family members, are not distant specks viewed from a condo in the sky. The balcony is not a high, scary, dangerous place to use, but a safe, relaxing and welcoming place to see and hear the ocean surf. It is a balcony that takes the worry out of losing your child to an unfortunate accident. It is a balcony where you can keep an eye on your kids and speak to them while they swim in the pool just below you.



South Wind on the Ocean is located at 5310 N. Ocean Blvd. on the 'Golden Mile' of the Grand Strand. The Golden Mile is the least congested/most desired location in Myrtle Beach, featuring large/exclusive oceanfront rental homes. South Wind is located just minutes from among other sites, Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, Tanger Outlets, Carolina Opry, 1650 restaurants and 120 golf courses.

Oceanfront sophistication best describes the South Wind resort. As you enter this condo, expect stunning professionally decorated furnishings and a relaxing atmosphere in your 3BR/3BA oceanfront condo that offers spectacular direct oceanviews from the huge balcony accessed from both the living room and master bedroom. The unit is in keeping with the exquisite entrance area and courtyard featuring lavish landscaping that showcases reflecting pools with fountains and the striking Mediterranean architecture at the resort's streetside entrance. The ocean/beach is strikingly visible as you step into the condo's foyer. That ocean view becomes more and more spectacular as one makes his/her way through the kitchen/dining room area, to the living room and then to the balcony.

Parking at South Wind is located directly in front of the building. There is no need to lug bags or groceries across Ocean Blvd. because South Wind's parking is on the same side of the street as the resort. Two level parking is attached to the resort with an abundance of spaces. Each unit is allotted two parking spaces on the upper level of the parking garage.

The condo has almost 1900 SF of luxury featuring 8-1/2 ft high ceilings, tray ceilings, granite counter tops throughout all the kitchen/baths, ceramic tile flooring in the entry,kitchen, baths and dining area. Insulated double stud walls between condominiums dramatically reduces noise transmission. The master suite boasts a roomy walk-in closet, a private linen closet and a spacious private bathroom complete with a lavish double vanity, walk-in shower and whirlpool garden tub. The beach/ocean is an impressive sight from your king-size master suite bed as you awake from a great night's sleep. The second bedroom features a queen-size bed and a twin-size day bed plus an adjoining bathroom. The third bedroom has a queen-size bed with a bathroom located just outside its door. The condo's sleeping capacity is augmented by a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room.

Stately decorative columns set apart and add class to the formal dining area. The kitchen is fully-equipped with micro-wave, range, refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, garbage disposal, granite countertops and is open to the dining/ living room areas.

South Wind's spectacular oceanfront water recreation area features a large 90-ft heated/enclosed (December thru May) under-the- building pool and an 80-ft outdoor pool, a 185 ft. lazy river, 2-outdoor spas, 1-indoor spa, a kiddie pool, and a fully equipped exercise room. The whole family will enjoy the oceanfront public playground and walking/exercise trail located only a few steps from your condominium.

New HDTV high definition flat screen TV's with cable are offered in each bedroom and the living room area. WI-FI Blu-Ray DVD/CD players are linked to each of the (4) TV's. Enjoy free WI-FI with high speed internet access.

Upgraded carpeting covers the 3-bedrooms and the living room floors. A washer and dryer are available in the condominium for your use.

I was born in Pottsville, PA and moved to Camp Hill, PA in my early years. We moved to Toledo, OH after WWII, where I attended Fulton Elementary School for (8) years and (1) year at Scott High School. My father's work transferred us to Syracuse, NY where I finished high school at Syracuse Central. I graduated from Dartmouth College and spent (2) years in the U.S. Navy as a Civil Engineer Corps officer at the Naval Weapons Lab in Dahlgren, VA. After the service, I worked for Carrier Air Conditioning Co. in Syracuse, NY for (7) years before operating a business in Toledo, OH called Folding Equipment Co. that sells furniture and equipment to K-12 schools in Northwest Ohio. I'm happily married with a grown son and daughter plus (7) grandchildren. We attend Christ the Word Church (PCA) where we are active members.

We stayed in this immaculate and beautifully appointed condo from Dec 27th, 2014 to Jan 3rd, 2015.

Yes, it IS just as beautiful as it appears in the photos! You won’t be disappointed.

We, are my husband and I, our 20 year old son, and my parents. My husband did all of the communicating with Ben, the owner, and booked this condo for our family’s "After the Holidays get-a-way." The reservation process went very smoothly. Ben was very quick to respond, and quick to return out deposit.

We have been coming to Myrtle Beach for summer vacations since 1983. We live in NJ, and this was our 3rd time coming to MB during this Holiday week, this is our 2nd time staying at The Southwind, but our first in this condo. While the weather is a little chilly this time of year, most attractions and restaurants are open, and there are never any crowds - such a difference from when we visit Myrtle Beach in the summer months!

My one and only initial concern with this condo, was that it was only on the 2nd floor, as I usually like to be on a higher floor for the views of the ocean, but those were concerns were NOT founded, as the views were amazing, and the location was perfect when parking on the 2nd level too. We were able to see dolphins swimming by almost every day and enjoyed watching the pelicans fly by too! The palm trees along the coastline made for some beautiful photo opportunities too!

Again, the décor is lovely and the place feels homey. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfy, there is LOTS of space and the 5 of us never felt crowded. The balcony furniture is high quality, and comfortable, as are the furnishing throughout the condo.

We enjoyed spending New Year’s Eve here, and were even treated to some fireworks out on the beach!

The location is perfect - closer to Broadway at the Beach, than to Barefoot Landing - but almost right in the middle between both.

We played 5 games of mini-golf at 5 different locations ( my Mom’s favorite thing to do in MB,) had dinner at The Mellow Mushroom, Sticky Fingers, The Flying Fish and Margaritaville, played board games, read books, relaxed and spent quality, fun, family time together.

We HIGHLY recommend this condo, and would stay here again in a heartbeat! Wish we were back there again right now! Thanks for a lovely vacation Ben!

Great place in a great location

We enjoyed a week in this 2nd floor condo with 6 adults and 3 grandkids. It did not dissappoint. Condo is modestly stock with the essential items. It was nice to have a pantry to keep all the clutter off the countertops. It is not 'over-the-top' but clearly a functional location. Ample seating for the group. Most comfortable chairs were at the dining set. The best part of this place is its location. Being on the 2nd floor means NO ELEVATOR about convenient. Park on the 2nd level, load and unload in a snap. Then walk down 24 stairs and be at pool, hot tub and lazy river. It's also fun to sit on the balcony and be close enough to interact with other folks enjoying the pool. Your view of the ocean is slightly limited by the palm trees...but it is all very good. Pictures tell a very accurate story of this condo. I also found using the 48th Street the best as it a controlled intersection at Kings Hwy/17 (particularly if you are turning south/left. It's also a very short drive to Walmart to left or Food Lion (my preference) and Starbucks to the right. (also recommend shopping very late or early to avoid the day one rush of us 'turrists'). Thanks for the trip. I might suggest sign in book or more personal touches and service to give this a 5-star. Great trip. Thanks again sharing your place. - habitual Ohio beachgoers

We loved it!

The property is great! It works well for families and non-families. We all loved the pools, lazy river and hot tubs. The unit was wonderful for us and felt very large. The proximity to the beach was perfect and worked great for our family. It's hard to get closer to the sand than we were. :-)

Great location. Really nice pools. Very close to beach. Unit location made for easy loading/unloading. Really liked keyless entry for four adults. Layout gave privacy to master suite. Complex maintenance always cleaning something. Large, comfortable balcony. Owners instruction sheet covered everything you needed to know. Nicely organized. Kitchen wares need to include more microwaveable items.

Excellent view and plenty of room for the 6 of us!

We were impressed form the moment we entered the condo. The three bedroom/three bathroom suite is beautiful and roomy. The large balcony gave us a beautiful view of the ocean front. On our last morning we watched dolphins feeding along the shoreline from our balcony. Overall, we would definitely stay here again and are hoping to return next year. You will need to bring toilet paper and garbage bags, only one of each are provided.
