Stylish loft with patio located in the very heart of the center in the famous, secluded and mesmerizing Arco degli Acetari, an hidden little square with huge historical importance, steps away from the iconic Campo de' Fiori. The square is surrounded by old little houses with peculiar balconies full of flowers. The apartment features a private entrance, an open space living room with a bed and a dining area, a small separated kitchen, a bathroom with shower and a private patio with dining table.
Among the countless medieval architectures that can be admired in Rome there are some which, due to their central position and the aura of mystery that often fills them, have had great success among both citizens and tourists: one of these it is certainly the "Arco degli Acetari", a stone's throw from Piazza Navona.
The charm of the place comes from the fact that in the square, which is accessible through an arch, it feels like time has stopped and this is probably also thanks to the fact that the area is not directly accessible by road. In fact, you have to go past number 19 of Via del Pellegrino and enter the buildings to discover the enchanted atmosphere that this courtyard can offer: the external stairs typical of medieval houses, the warm ocher plaster and the nature that blends perfectly with the the architecture helps make this place even more picturesque.
The term 'Acetari' has not been well attested, however it is believed that it derives from 'Acquacetosari', later called 'Acetosari', i.e. the sellers of Acetosa Water which was presumably distributed at the adjacent Campo de' Fiori market. The vinegary component of this water was considered curative as is reported in the fountain commissioned by Pope Paul V Borghese, near the source in Tor di Quinto, where there is a plaque with the inscription: RENIBVS ET STOMACHO SPLENI IECORIQVE MEDETVR MILLE MALIS PRODEST ISTA SALVBRIS AQVA (This healthy water cures the kidneys, stomach, spleen, liver and helps a thousand other ailments). In the XVII century Pope Alexander VII Chigi also particularly appreciated this water so much that he dedicated a monumental travertine exedra to it.

A historic little piazza close to so many landmarks and activities. Paolo was an excellent host, and was readily available. His restaurant recommendations were fabulous. We very much enjoyed our stay.
The place is so cute and in an old world courtyard. Just amazing and cute. The location is perfect. In walking distance to everything. Restaurants literally 2 minutes from our doorstep. The one thing I would suggest to the owner is to replace the shower head.
Amazing trip, lovely apartment for a good price in an amazing location. Neighbours are very friendly too. The apartment was clean and very cool. Laundry and a private courtyard for drying clothes/hanging out was super convenient. I would stay here again for sure!
This is an excellent central location, we were we able to walk to almost all of the points of interest all around room, the train station the Colosseum, the Trevi fountain and so many more. The apartment is on the ground floor so easy access, we did not use the kitchen, has a lovely little patio area and a nice little studio. There was a very heavy rain one night and quite a bit of water came in through the patio door, we reached out to Paolo, took a while for him to respond and basically just apologized, we use the towels to soak it up We also ran out of toilet paper, which we did go buy some more for ourselves, but I thought there should’ve been more than that for us for a week. The bed was very comfortable, and for the most part was a very quiet neighbourhood. Lots of local places to eat just around the corner and a big market with fresh fruits and vegetables, clothing, etc.I would recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere as a central location and you can walk or taxi to all of the sites to see!
The location of this lovely apartment is unmatched! We walked out the door into the heart of Rome. The entry is in a beautiful little historic square so close to the shops and cafes, yet still so quiet and peaceful. We truly had an amazing experience! Grazie Roma!
Property is in a great location and the host is very communicative! We did not have any soap or shampoo the night we arrived, which was supposed to be at the property but the host made a special trip to bring us some. My only complaint is the shower is absolutely horrible. If more than one person needs to shower the second person will be taking an ice cold shower and the shower head does not work properly. Also I am covered in mosquito bites as they were flying around in the property when we arrived and anytime you open the door they fly in quickly. For the price though with the location I still recommend just needs some fixes, the shower situation did frustrate me
Delightful and very charming location. Comfortable bed. Spacious room. Toilet needs to be bolted down to the floor. Would be nice to have an extra set of towels. It’d be nice to have an extra set of towels.
Our host was great. He commented promptly when we had questions and gave us tips on how to get around.

The pros of this property…location is incredible! The bed was very comfortable and air conditioning worked great! The cons…the apartment was very humid and musty that the dehumidifier couldn’t keep up with. The shower needs some updating…water poured out noMatter how we positioned the curtain…the curtain was dark and made the shower dark. The kitchen was small and had a limited selection of dishes. We spent very little time inside and instead enjoyed the electric atmosphere of the piazza next store. With a little work, this place could be amazing!
Paolo was flexible, and worked with us on time of arrival and departure, which we were very grateful for. The place was clean and exactly what i expected. The location is very good for walking around the city. There are many restaurants as soon as you exit this place. Close to a busy market and square. Early in the morning you hear someone entering the courtyard to start the day at the marketplace, and maybe a bike or two starting up, but this is in the heat of the city, so no big surprise.
My daughter (13) and I visited Rome and were hesitant to book this place due to lack of reviews but our trip was made perfect with our stay in this paradise. The little square it is in is a slice of heaven and we were able to walk pretty much everywhere from it. You are steps from Campo d'Fiore and extremely close to Piazza Navona and other popular spots. Location is safe and it was the perfect size for the two of us. The charm of the apartment both inside and out filled me with such joy every time we returned home. Yes, there are a few imperfections but it is slightly older Roman apartment so I expected this. The host was waiting for us upon arrival and was a huge help. Don't hesitate - book this place, you wont be disappointed.
Paulo was a great host, who met us and allowed us to check in early. The garden court yard is every bit as beautiful as depicted. A quaint, secluded area right off the busy square. We found the courtyard, full of potted plants, large and small, with honeysuckle in full bloom, draped around doors and balconies. The room felt like it was from a different era, high ceilings with rustic beams, painted white to lighten the room. There is a small private garden room right off the living area. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was small but adequate and the kitchenette seemed to be equipped with essentials should you decide to cook in. We’d stay there again in a heartbeat.
