The Space:

Stay in central Salt Lake City! Our 4-bedroom, 2-bath apartment—one-half of a duplex on a residential street—is within 10 minutes of downtown and within 20 to 30 miles of world-class skiing on Utah’s mountains.

This 4-bedroom, 2-bath apartment is great for a multi-generational family of skiers and non-skiers, teens and adults.

The two-floor layout includes one full, upstairs apartment and another full basement apartment—each with a kitchen/kitchenette and living area. Spend time together during the day, then find privacy in the evenings.

Every bedroom has either a full, queen or king bed. Two more people can sleep on our comfy air mattress (with bedding set) on the living room floor. All beds have carefully selected mattresses and luxury bedding.

While the adventurers hit the slopes, others can head downtown to shop, eat, and explore Temple Square (all 10 minutes away by car). Or stay in and take advantage of the free WiFi, Blu-Ray players, and Netflix on each of the apartment’s 3 flatscreens.

Our kitchen comes with the convenience of all the breakfast basics to get you off to a good start during your stay with us. Make yourself a cup of coffee, a refreshing glass of juice, and toss up a couple of eggs with your toast. Pancakes? Waffles?  You’ll find the convenience of having them all within reach.

We also offer additional accommodations on the other half of the duplex, with room for up to 5 more people in a totally remodeled rental apartment. (In total, we can sleep 15 guests if all units are available) Feel free to ask us about our other rental options.

Guest Access:

This is a private rental and you'll have access to the entire space. Both apartments (upstairs and downstairs) are joined by a staircase leading down from the upstairs kitchen. Or, alternately, the upstairs can be accessed through the front door and the downstairs through the back door.

With a long driveway and carport, there’s plenty of space for 2-3 vehicles to park off the street.

And with keyless door locks, you don’t have to worry about keeping track of keys. We create an easy-to-remember code specifically for your group.

Interaction with Guests:

When we’re not traveling, we live in the basement apartment on the other side of this duplex. If we’re home, we’re happy to chat and share our tips for things to do in the area. But we also respect that you’re here to explore, not talk to us.

When we’re not home, a trusted neighbor keeps an eye on the property and will be on-hand if you have questions or concerns.

The Neighborhood:

This rental is located at the corner of a residential street and 700 East, which provides quick, easy access to I-80 and I-15, and downtown.

Getting Around:

If you’re coming here for both skiing AND downtown Salt Lake City, our rental is in an ideal location: 10-15 minutes (depending on traffic) from downtown and no more than 30 miles from all the ski resorts. If you have no interest in skiing, that’s fine, too—there is plenty to do within minutes of this rental. Most places are less than a half-hour away by car:

House Rules:


Quiet hours begin at 10pm. Indoor and outdoor noise should be kept to a minimum. This property is equipped with a decibel meter and the police will be notified should there be any noise disturbances. Tenants shall use the property for legal purposes only and NO other use, such as, but not limited to, illegal drug use, abuse of any person, harboring of fugitives, etc. ; shall cause termination of this agreement with no refund of rents or deposits. The police will be notified should the Landlord suspect any illegal activities.

Check-out Instructions:

Please take out all trash.

Please pile used towels, washcloths and kitchen towels in the bathtub.

Please be sure to wash all your dishes.

Please return any moved objects or furniture back to their original spots.

Please lock the doors and close the windows.

Additional Fees

Fee for bringing pets: $200

I, Carmen, suffer from really bad allergies and many times I had to use my EPIPEN when my asthma rescue inhaler doesn’t open my lungs. If you know somebody with really bad allergies you know what I’m talking about. So for respect to allergic people, we ask you to not bring your pets into our property.

We advertise as a pet-free, allergy-friendly vacation rental and it takes a certified asthma and allergy cleaning company to get rid of pet hair and dander.

There are many hosts that welcome pets. If you plan on traveling with your pet, please look for another property. I don’t want to cancel your reservation and charge you a $200 fee to hire a professional allergy cleaning company.

Fee for smoking inside the house: $250 (fee goes towards cleaning carpets, drapes, bedding and other fabrics where smoke was trapped). Includes use of vaping or e-cigarettes

Fee for unauthorized guests: $10/per night per person

We will charge the credit card on file an additional $10/per night per person for every unauthorized guest. You should have seen this fee if you entered the right amount of guests before booking our place.

Fee for not following check-out instructions: $25 per extra hour of labor.

The cleaning fee charged for this property covers 4 hours of cleaning. It also includes the cost of professional laundry service and cleaning supplies. So please be respectful of our home and don’t take this personal. We care about you our guest, as much as we care about our housekeepers, without them we wouldn’t be able to host you. Thanks so much for your understanding.

Should the Tenants violate any of the terms of this agreement, the rental period shall be terminated immediately. The Tenants shall maintain the premises in a good, clean and ready-to-rent condition and use the premises only in a careful and lawful manner. Tenants shall pay for maintenance and repairs should the premises be left in a lesser condition. The Tenants agree that the Landlord shall deduct costs of said services from the security deposit prior to refund if Tenants cause damage to the premises or its furnishings.

We’re Jonah and Carmen, and we love to travel!

Not very long ago, we followed our impulses and bought one way tickets to Bali. The next few years were unforgettable! We travelled across South East Asia, Mexico, Central America and Peru. A lot of our stays were at vacation rentals and boutique hotels, giving us the advantage of knowing what goes into a comfortable stay (especially as we were really picky guests!)

We took advantage of our experience as guests across the globe and started our first vacation rental in Peru in 2010 (so yes, we’ve put a few years in!).

But more recently, we’ve been focusing on short term rentals in the Salt Lake City area. The success of managing our own rental properties has brought in requests from other owners to manage theirs as well.

The comfort of our guests is paramount to Jonah and me. To make everything from booking the rental to your actual stay here, we have made the process hassle free - from an easy check in/check out, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchens, efficient Wi-Fi, to Netflix for your entertainment.

And, oh yes, so you have an affordable stay!

We feel that our vacation home offers flexible space that would be ideal for a family or a group of friends.

Spread over the main floor and basement of the house, the rental offers two living rooms and two kitchens which is why it’s so great for extended family or friends.

The kids can be playing on the Xbox 360 downstairs leaving the adults to watch TV or chat upstairs. In the basement the living room has the Xbox, with games, as well as a 55” LCD HDTV that has DirecTV, Blu-ray home theater system, and free movies through Netflix.

The upstairs living room features a 42” LCD HDTV, also with DirecTV and Netflix, and there’s a Blu-ray player in addition to the one downstairs. Wireless internet is another added bonus, and the kitchen upstairs has everything you’ll need including purified water, while downstairs there’s a handy washer and dryer.

The location, value, and quality of this Salt Lake City vacation home makes this an excellent choice all around.

JoAnna was wonderful at helping me with my reservation and super friendly each time I reached out to her. The home was PERFECT! We loved the downstairs living room area with the reclining chairs and large flat TV screen. It was perfect for us at the end of the long day of conferences. We enjoyed having a kitchen and washer and dryer. The place was clean and comfortable and if we are ever in SLC again we would definitely book here again.

Clean, Comfortable, and Full of Amneties

We thought this place was fantastic. We enjoyed Netflix and the TV choices on all of the televisions. The coffee, eggs, pancake mix syrup, chocolates, etc. was very nice. The washer and dryer was new and high efficiency. The welcome booklet was nice and the owner contacted at the beginning, middle and end by of our trip by email to check on things and ask if everything was fine. The price was very reasonable also (quite a deal) for the size of the of the place. I would definitely stay here again.

Super clean and cozy house close to everything

It was a perfect fit for my family. In our old age and different sleep patterns I FIND IT A HUGE ADVANTAGE TO BE ABLE TO SLEEP IN SEPARATE rooms if necessary. My two adult daughters also preferred to have separate bedrooms and their own TV room. The house is a little close to the noise of the main road and the owners left have ear plugs left on each bedside table, which was a nice touch. Although I was a little concerned that I would not be able to fall asleep easily, that did not turn out to be a problem. After a day of skiing and being outdoor for hours we all fell asleep early without having to use the earplugs. Also, by 10 pm most of the traffic is dramatically down and it is not a problem. As I said before it is a very cheap accommodation for the value it affords. The owners are super welcoming and obsessed with providing the best service possible. In summary, I will be more than happy to rent this place again when we come back for ski trips.

Ski Vacation

We had a great stay in SLC. We did two night in park city and two nights in salt lake and this place was well located a little ways from down town and a not too far from Brighton where we boarded. This home was very large with the upstairs area with two bedrooms and then downstairs area with two bedrooms. Everything was clean and nice. The Hosts were great, gave us the information we needed for check in and made the transition in easy, having some food/coffee/condiments in house to use was very nice. Great place to stay in SLC.

Very Clean Property, Centrally Located, Lots of Space

We recently stayed here and were very impressed. The place was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed - including utensils, cups, and plates for little kids! We had expected this place to be smaller than it was and were pleasantly surprised with the great layout (2 beds, 1 bath up; 2 beds, 1 bath down). The unit provides off-street parking and is right off 700 East, which if you're familiar with SLC, is a central "vein" of the city. Very easy access to getting to downtown or the ski areas. The best part of this rental was that the owners are extremely nice and VERY prompt in responding to any questions. They wanted to make sure we had everything we needed and even provided a play yard for our baby to sleep in so that we didn't have to fly with one more piece of kid-gear. We will absolutely stay here again and recommend it for all groups. We were 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 8 years to 7 months). But the 4 bedrooms could easily accommodate 4 adult couples.

Comfortable and caring owners

Eight of us rented this duplex for a visit to SLC for my niece's wedding. This was cheaper and more efficient for us than renting several hotel rooms. I've used VRBO three times and what I look at to make my decision are the reviews. This place had good reviews for both the place and the owners. The owner answered my questions within minutes both before and after I booked. I got my rental information soon after I booked too. The place was pretty, clean and comfortable and I knew I was in good hands in case there were any issues. Highly recommend!
