We loved the property. Although only a short visit we were able to enjoy the secluded atmosphere and the beautiful backyard. Hot tub is a wonderful add.
The location was nice and fit our needs for the night. The only hiccups were that the host was not aware of our rental. Fortunately this was solved quickly. The other small issue was my niece told me the next morning after checking out that one of the bed blankets smelled like cat (we were not traveling with animals). Other than this the stay was fine. One recommendation for future renters is to bring mosquito repellent! The outside is nice to hang out in but come prepared!
Might be my bad but I did not know the bathroom was in a separate location from the bedroom. Had to go outside the room and walk down a pathway to get to the bathroom. Everything else was great.

Thank you for the positive feedback, please be sure to read the description. The detached bathroom is mentioned in the listing.
Everything was ok. The bathroom being away from the rooms was odd and the listing did not specify that the front house is also a vrbo that has access to the bathroom for use of the washer and dryer.

Hi! Sorry about the bathroom issue. We have taken the laundry off of the amenities listing for the house. The bathroom is now only available for use by the back suites
Thanks for your feedback back
Although he did not get to see the chickens, I think they were hiding being that we didn’t get there till way too late and then we left super early only in town for a conference, but the place was so cute. It is a gem and the pictures don’t do it justice. I absolutely loved the stay here!!!!
This property was great and Allison was super easy to communicate with. Just be aware that the restroom (very roomy, clean and well heated) is a very short walk and separate from the bedrooms.

It was nice to have you stay! Thank you and welcome back any time.
Though we only stayed for one night, it was a charming spot in a fairy quiet part of town. Great bathroom with stone standing shower (loved the castor oil shampoo and conditioner!) and the outdoor space was lovely. Clean rooms and nice decor. The chickens are the cherry on top! Love them so much!
We loved it, such a pleasant surprise!! We would love to stay there again. Garden, fluffy chickens, hot tub, flowers, fire pit, very romantic and healing. This would be a dream bungalow style to live, perfect nature vibe.
Stayed one night on our way back to Southern CA from Portland. Nicely decorated rooms. Loved the stained glass window in Suite 1. Comfortable bed. Relaxing garden area with plenty of chairs. There were mosquitoes and other bugs. Wished the bathroom was closer to the rooms. It feels a little like glamping.
Super cute. Lovely space. A little oasis. Comfy beds. Host was in communication and helpful. No weird or overdemanding check out procedure! Really good experience. Only downside for us was the owner did not tell us the names of the chickens. THEY ARE SO CUTE. Love them. We named the white one Gertrude and the black on Plumbus. Nice to find a place that has only pleasant surprises.
Beautiful and comfortable bedrooms, with a great hot tub in a cute neighborhood. My pets loved the yard. It was like camping in that the bathroom was a good 150 feet from the bedroom and the kitchen was also accessed from outside.
The property was perfect for a quick in and out trip with a group of girl friends to see a concert. Parking was great, rooms were spacious and they each had their own keurig! The bathroom was also large and heated. The kitchenette we did not use but was super cute. I wish we had more time to enjoy the back yard fire pit and hot tub!

Bathroom
Everything was adorble just too far to use the bathroom so far away for elfey
Our host was very responsive and quick to support us on our trip. The property was cute and perfect for me and my husband and our daughter and her boyfriend. The bathroom is like a camp bathroom. Sharing it with another couple takes timing, consideration, and communication. The outside lights stay on all night, so we wished we’d brought our sleep masks. The coffee maker is a pod-style coffee maker. Bring your own pods, unless you like Colombian coffee. We were a little concerned driving in on Stockton St that it would be a rough neighborhood, however it was quaint and we felt safe. We enjoyed our neighborhood walks and the fall colors were gorgeous. We wish there were chickens, but they weren’t there. We’d stay again and enjoyed the beautiful yard and cozy rooms. It was a quiet, peaceful stay. Thank you!

The pictures really don’t tell the story of the property. Every room is separate from each other room. They are not connected at all. In fact, the bathroom shower and laundry are 40 yards away from the room that you stay in, so you have to walk outside in the middle of the night to the bathroom. The bedroom are two separate rooms and not connected. Just kind of a weird set up.
A Hidden Backyard Gem – Peaceful, Playful, and Full of Charm
I met an old friend here for a one-night stay as I passed through Sacramento, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The home is tucked into a quiet, leafy neighborhood that already feels like a retreat—but the real magic begins once you follow the winding stone path through the gate.Past fairy lights, a hammock, and a welcoming hot tub, the guesthouse is its own cozy little world—chic, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches. We each had our own bedroom, both with private entrances and cheerful patios (with Adirondack chairs perfect for morning coffee). A small but well-stocked kitchenette sat between our rooms, and just a few steps away was a clean bathroom and laundry area. And then there were the cuddle chickens—honestly, some of the cutest creatures I’ve ever met. We were told they love to be pet if you can catch them, and they added a warm, unexpected joy to the whole stay.At night, the yard glowed with soft string lights and felt peaceful and private. We easily drove into Old Town for dinner and laughter, then woke to a beautiful 30-minute drive along the Sacramento River to Clarksburg for breakfast tacos in the countryside. The whole stay felt easy, beautiful, and grounding.I’d absolutely come back—whether to reconnect with someone or just recharge in a place that feels like a quiet little secret.
