About Fran Champagne

Our children grew up in this house and we still love coming back to Santa Fe to visit. We love the house and hope you will too.

Why Fran Champagne chose Historic Eastside

This beautiful old home started life the same way most old Santa Fe homes did, as a single room adobe home. That room is now the living room with narrow-spaced vigas. The house tells its story of its various additions through such quirky features as a remnant of an exterior window on an interior wall in the dining room.

What makes this house unique

This house is located in one of the enchanting historical eastside of Santa Fe, where sometimes around dusk the light turns magical and the mountains glow pink. From Casa Delgado, the galleries of Canyon road are around 100 yards away. You can take a gallery tour in the evening and follow it with a world-class meal at Geronimo's, The Compound or El Farol, where some nights you catch a traditional Flamenco show. In the mornings you can walk over to 'Downtown Subscription' for a fresh-brewed espresso and fresh pastries.

Great house, great location, can't wait to go back!

  • 4 of 5

Great location, comfortable and roomy. Very clean. It was a girl's weekend, and the home and location worked perfectly for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip - drove around one day and walked the other two! Two downsides during our trip - the fireplace was out of order, so we missed out on the opportunity for evening ambiance. We had a hard time controlling bedroom temperatures at night - it was too hot. Showers were great - plenty of hot water and nicely appointed. There are many different levels in the house - one step up/down or just a few inches between some rooms, so you need to pay attention until you get to know your way around. I think the three patio areas would be great in warmer seasons. Alas, too cold for us!

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed staying at our house! We're sorry that you found the house too warm. The heating has five zones and each is controlled by a thermostat on the wall in the room. The adobe walls are thick, so the house takes a while to change temperature. The house does have various different levels -- it's a classic old Santa Fe adobe home that was added onto at quite a few different times. Each time a new section was added, the floor was made a different level. It's part of the charm of the house, but it does make the house unsuitable for people with mobility issues. We hope you can return to enjoy the front garden patio when it is warmer outside!

Beautiful home close to Old Town

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in this home. It is close to Old Town. We walked to shopping, dining and art galleries. The home is beautiful and fully equipped with everything we needed. The layout with four bedrooms was perfect for our group. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to all my questions. We only wish it was warmer to enjoy the outside patios for morning coffee. We'll come back to enjoy the sun.

Spacious and well equipped

  • 5 of 5

Perfect space for a girlfriends' week in Santa Fe. Very well equipped and charming. Only flaw was the very musty, damp smell in one of the queen baths, but everything else was nicely done. Thanks for a terrific time.

Owner's Response: We're very glad to hear that you had a good stay and enjoyed our home. Sorry that there was a damp smell; we had our manager go by and check but she couldn't smell or see anything when she got there. It was unusually wet in Santa Fe that week. We will continue to check on the situation. Thanks for the compliments and the useful feedback.

Awesome week with friends

  • 5 of 5

Myself and four friends enjoyed an absolutely fantastic week in the Santa Fe area with this house as our home base. And it really did serve as just that-- a home.

This property is, uncharacteristically, even lovelier than it appears on the listing. The interiors were attractive, well-kept, and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The outdoor seating areas were a true pleasure, with many long hours spent conversing and enjoying the sunshine and the temperate evenings. Our group is from every corner of the country, with a Canadian thrown into the mix for good measure, and we don't get to meet in person often. We can only hope that our boisterous interludes didn't disturb any of the neighbors!

The area where the house is located is pleasantly quiet, steps away from Canyon Rd., and an easy walk to the Plaza and everything downtown. We found the surrounding area to possess many charming attributes, and obtaining groceries and other supplies was an easy trip from the location. There was adequate parking for our two vehicles, as well.

Property manager Ann met us with flowers and wine shortly after our arrival, which we thought was very kind. The flowers brightened up an already cheerful kitchen, which we used to prepare a number of meals during our stay. Having all those amenities at hand certainly made for a relaxed vacation, enabling us to keep to whatever schedule we pleased.

In short, we greatly enjoyed our stay at Casa Delgado and would certainly choose this property again for future stays in Santa Fe. Thanks so much to Fran for making the booking process smooth and easy and allowing us to make this wonderful house our home away from home for the week!

We enjoyed six days at Casa Delgado, celebrating our annual "cousins weekend"...4 sisters and 2 cousins from New England, Florida and Colorado. Your home was perfect--clean, comfortable, spacious, tastefully decorated, well maintained and very well stocked. The patio was a treat we enjoyed each afternoon. We walked Canyon Rd and to the Plaza.

The vase of fresh flowers began our stay with warm smiles.

Thank you.

Casa Delgado is FANTASTIC!

  • 5 of 5

Fran, thank you so much for sharing your charming and welcoming home. We thoroughly enjoyed the spacious house, gourmet kitchen, courtyards, grilling and patio dining. So convenient to Canyon Road, riverfront park, and historic downtown. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to all our friends.
