dog friendly, tents and R.V's allowed, peaceful and relaxing with pond and creek
Come to the beach and relax in my beautiful white pine cabin with lodge style moose and bear décor. Located just 2 short miles south of Seaside and 4 miles north of Cannon Beach, on a 4 acre wooded property with a large koi pond and creek. The cabin is locate just a 1/2 mile off of Hwy 101 with no through traffic. You are literally 5 minutes to the beach in either direction.
This was the house I grew up in as a child. It has been remodeled by yours truly. The cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 with king beds and another with 2 queens. There are also 4 twin camping pads and 2 couches for extra sleeping arrangements for the kids. The property is dog friendly and I allow tents and R.V.'s as well. (must be fully self contained) as I do not have a dump site or full hook up.
The kitchen has a large, open layout with rustic hickory cabinets, pebble tile backsplash and new appliances and is well stocked with everything you would need as far as pots, pans, matching dinnerware, utensils, mixing bowls, storage bowls, crock pots, griddle, coffee pot, toaster, electric mixer, blender, food processor, a large microwave and a beverage cooler. Paper towels, dish soap, coffee, tea and hand towels are all provided as well as some baking supplies. The dining table has 2 leaves that allow for seating of 10-12 people.
The living room has leather furniture, a large flat screen T.V. with cable, dvd's and movie selection. High speed wireless internet and great cell service anywhere on the property.
There is only 1 large bathroom but it has a shower and a tub/combo. There are plenty of extra towels and toilet paper and soap and lotion are also provided.
There is a new large capacity washer and dryer onsite and lots of extra parking on the property.
The deck is 1200 square feet and overlooks the pond and the creek. It has lights that come on a dusk all the way around the deck. For your outdoor entertainment there is a fire pit with 12 Adirondack chairs, large propane barbecue and cooler to take to the beach as well as 2 picnic tables . Deck games include the corn hole bag toss game as well as Yard Zee, like Yahtzee but with large wooden dice. It is a great deck for a wedding reception or family reunion barbecue.
In the spring you can hear the frogs croaking and the kids will enjoy feeding the koi that are in the pond. Throw a some fresh seafood or steaks on the BBQ and enjoy a a glass of wine while watching the sun set over the mountain. There will be dry firewood during the summer at no extra cost. Bring the kid's bike cause they will have room to ride it and you can also bring the dogs at no extra cost. The deck has 2 gates that can be closed off to keep small children and pets inside and away from the pond. If you check out all of my reviews you will see that everyone who has stayed here has enjoyed their stay and wants to come back. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. There has never been any issues with mosquitos around the pond. Close enough to the beach but away from the in town noise and tourist traffic.
Cullaby Lake, Coffenbury Lake , Young's River Falls, The Big O Saloon , Short Sands Beach ,The Peter Iredale, Astor Column are just a few things you may want to check out. There are chartered deep sea fishing and crabbing trips or you can go clam digging or crabbing. Some of the special events are Wheels of Waves Muscle car show, Memorial Weekend. Mother's day weekend, Father's day weekend, graduation party weekend, Miss Oregon pageant week, 4th of July week with fireworks at the beach, dance competition week, bike ( motorcycle week) father's day weekend, Buoy 10 fishing season, Professional Volleyball weekend, Hood to Coast weekend, Labor Day weekend, end classic car show or just a family getaway to make memories at the Seaside beach.
I allow weddings and receptions, birthday parties and family reunions. Just have to charge an extra $10 per person, per night for extra for the extra people due to extra showers and laundry. The house is located in the county so the only noise ordinance is from 10:00 P.M. until 7 A.M.

I am 52 year old do it your selfer and the cabin was my childhood home where I grew up. Since my parents have both passed I decided to turn it into a rustic getaway for all to enjoy. After I remodeled the cabin I bought the Pacific Yurt below from Cottage Grove and designed the interior. I wanted to give those of you who don't like tent camping a rustic retreat that makes you feel pampered. I love all animals especially horses and dogs. I love hunting, fishing, camping, riding quads, four wheeling, barbecuing and traveling.
Why Owner chose Seaside
The property is very close to town and in between both Cannon Beach and Seaside. It is a very peaceful setting with a pond and a creek running directly beside it. Deer, raccoon , beaver and all sorts of birds frequent the property and you can hear frogs croaking in the pond at night. The pond is stalked with koi and the kids will enjoy feeding them. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash or under voice command. You are welcome to have a bonfire at night and the firewood is included just please set the fire pit on the concrete slab and not on the cedar deck for obvious reasons. There is a large deck for the family barbecue or sunbathing. Great for a friends getaway, girls weekend, family reunion or what have you, bachleor or bachelorette party, wedding, birthdays.

Lovely place to stay
Will definitely recommend this place. Jodi was so wonderful to work with. We even got to meet her while on our stay. She was very accomadating to our needs. Plenty of room for 12 people. The only downside was only 1 bathroom, but we managed very well. If you are thinking of coming to this area, I would strongly recommend looking at this rental. There's plenty of room to roam around and it is away from the rush of town. Will think of staying here again. Thanks for everything Jodi!
fun for a big group with kids!
only downfall was having 1 bathroom other than that enough supplies more than expected..
Cozy, comfortable, has everything, and is near everything!
We loved it here! Our trip turned out to be pretty rainy (a risk this time of year), so we spent a lot of time indoors. Jodi's vacation home had everything we needed to just relax and enjoy. Made some great meals in the well equipped kitchen. Had plenty of room to play board games, read, do art, etc. The internet service is just as peppy as advertised. The bed was so soft and cozy with the high thread-count sheets and cushy mattress pad. The place is very spacious, so very comfortable even if you're rained in. Our only regret is it rained so much we didn't get a chance to sit out on the huge deck (it is massive)! And everything is so close by! Groceries in Seaside, Ecola State Park, Oswald West State Park, restaurants. Very quiet and private, clean and well maintained. Loads of towels, linens. Great place to stay!
Thanks so much. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay despite the rain. Believe it or not we are actually having snow at the beach today:) I hope you can make it back again soon and maybe even check out my 30 foot yurt below. Happy Holidays to you both. Jodi
cabin in the woods
This is a really cool property, quick drive to cannon beach and seaside. Its tucked away off the 101, look for the purple surf shop. Street sign can be hard to spot in the dark. Cabin was plenty of room for 8 people, only one bath but its roomy and stocked with lots of extra towels. We had guest from cannon beach over for dinner, and dinner table could accommodate 12 just fine. Plenty of parking. I forgot games but Jodi had lots of options including a dart board. Kitchen was stocked with lots of cookware, as well as foil, ziplock bags, which came in handy. Jodi was a great host and very accommodating. Internet speed sufficient too for streaming or gaming.
Every review I read for this place is accurate. This is a really attractive and cozy cabin to stay in. The knotty pine is beautiful. Appliances are brand new. The yurt is very cool. Jodi is a great host. She went out of her way to make sure we had a great time while staying there. There are so many beautiful beaches nearby to visit. A great place for families of all sizes.
We found the spacious kitchen and living room perfect for our group to visit/prepare and serve meals. The yurt is quite lovely. The house is decorated nicely and the towels and linens are nice. The setting is quiet and peaceful.
Cullaby and Coffenbury Lakes are great for fishing, boating or swimming. Young's River Falls are a beautiful site and short drive through the country. Great place to spend a hot summer day or to have a picnic, in late September/early October hundreds of salmon are spawning there, its pretty cool to see. Short Sands Beach and Ecola state park offer hiking trails. You can go out to Hamlet if you want to go off road on the gravel roads to ride quads, go four wheeling or look for deer and elk. Some great elk viewing in the fields on the way into town, also Jewell Wildlife Meadows is about 25 miles away. There are great places in town to eat. Some of my favorites are Bigfoots Steakhouse at the first light, McKeown's on Broadway and Guido and Vito's the next block up on Broadway. If you are going to Cannon Beach I recommend The Driftwood Inn, Bills Tavern, (great fish and chips) or the Rotisserie Grill. Wayfarer is fancy and ocean front but I think over priced and you leave still hungry. For drinks I recommend Bigfoot bar, Mary is a great bartender and make a killer root beer float!!! U street Pub at the 1st light and take a left, Rachael works there, she is very friendly, entertaining and sociable, my friend Jen works at Creek side Pizza and the ever so beautiful Wendy works downtown at Twisted Fish where they sometimes have live music but mostly karaoke. Dundee's Bar and Grill has great pizza but I think the best in town is Pizza Harbor. Dundee's and Angelina's are the only ones that will deliver to the cabin and yurt though. As far as sports bars the Relief Pitcher Tavern has big screens and a friendly atmosphere and the best tuna steak sandwich ever, its yummy! Dundee's is a sports bar as well as Beach n Brew and Beach Club, you will also find the games on at The Rotisserie Grill at the 1st Cannon Beach exit. I would like to mention though that if you come back from town after dark really watch for the elk on the straight stretch between Circle Creek Campground and the Relief Pitcher Tavern as they love to cross there pretty much nightly and they are very fast and usually at a dead run. Downtown the kids will love the huge arcade and a little bit further up Broadway is the bumper cars and the Tilt a Whirl. Lots of tourist shopping on the main strip, as far as our factory outlet mall to be honest with you it sucks. Spend another 2 hours and make a day trip and go to Lincoln City, theirs is awesome. You can check out the Tillamook Cheese factory and the Blimp base on the way. Lincoln City also has a casino called Chinook Winds if you want to try your luck.
Additional information about rental rates
If you can pay in full at the time of booking I will accept your reservation outside of VRBO so that you don't have to pay the ridiculous reservation fee. You can pay through paypal or with a personal check or money order. I am trying to raise $16,000 for a sand filter septic system for my 30 foot yurt rental that is below. The sooner that I get it done, the sooner I will be allowed to rent it out and I would love to be able to offer it during the peak spring and summer season. The house is on its own septic so it will not be an issue even if the yurt septic has not been done. Thanks for your help.
