The Seaside Retreat- Meredith Lodging

Retreat and relax in comfort and delight at The Seaside Retreat, a lovely single-level family home on the North Oregon Coast. You’ll enjoy the quieter southern end of Seaside, with a less populated beach and Seaside Golf Course and Cartwright Park just one block away, a home perfect for gathering with family and friends. With gorgeous floors, a plank-and-beam vaulted ceiling, and a spacious great room, The Seaside Retreat has a sweet beach vibe that invites you to make yourself at home. A charming, fully equipped kitchen has all you’ll need to dine in, with a dining table beside large windows for lots of light and access to the large deck and yard. Two bedrooms, one with a queen and a bunk room, make this a perfect family retreat. The kids will love the converted garage game room, with a futon for hanging out and ping-pong and foosball tables for hours of play. Outdoors, a deck with comfy furnishings and a rustic fire pit will invite you to gather outside for s’mores and conversation.

It’s just five short blocks to the southern end of the Promenade and miles of sandy beach! The Seaside Retreat sits on a corner lot for lots of extra play space. Hop in the car and you’ll be in the heart of Seaside’s dining and exciting activity, including indoor amusements for kids. Explore Seaside and enjoy peace and quiet with plenty of access to fun with a stay at The Seaside Retreat!

We had an excellent stay, the proximity to the beach was amazing. Also walkable to a grocery store and a couple restaurants made it easy to not have to go far for everything we needed.

I enjoyed the southside of town. There is a small grocery store a few blocks away, as well as a couple of restaurants and, of course, the beach! I found the bed comfortable and everything I needed in the kitchen. My only problem was figuring out the TV!

Home was very well located. Just off the 101 for travel purposes, a couple of blocks from the beach, and a few blocks from the main shopping and dining area. Home its self is well equipped and has a nice game room made from the garage. Could use a little love in the bathroom fixture area, and maybe a good airing out as we had to get an air freshener for the somewhat musty/stagnant smell. We were there during offseason, so take it for what it is. No issues requiring contact of the management. Would consider this home again if we were to return.

We enjoyed our stay. Neighbor recommended places to eat. Loved eating at Dooger’s. The home was very clean and comfortable. Will stay here again.

Quiet house

It was a nice clean house. Near beach. We had a pleasant 2 night stay. Did not use game room/garage because it was cold in there.

The shower in the 3/4 bath was not working. The property listing needs to be updated to reflect that there is just one operating shower, not two.

Great place to stay with kids and dogs

My husband and I stayed here with our two kids and two dogs. The place was clean and the bathroom had toiletries which was a nice touch. The kids loved the garage with games and foosball table especially. It was easy walking distance to the beach. Nice that there’s a small grocery close by as well as a playground.

Cute home

We really enjoyed our time. Beds comfortable. Cutely decorated The kitchen was fully equipped so we cooked a lot of our meals. Osprey cafe is nearby and yummy. 5 minute walk to seaside beach, which is a off leash beach. Hosts very responsive to requests. Highly recommend.

The house and amenities were great and I loved being within walking distance of the beach. There were neighbors on the corner of Franklin who were drunk and aggressive and looking to fight so we had to drive to the beach. Otherwise, it was a nice trip and a nice rental.

Short weekend unplanned trip.

Seaside brings back alot of memories for us with my father. We made a last minute decision to stay this weekend on my husbands weekend off. The house was perfect for our family and our needs. Super cute and clean. Close to beach. Lots to do in Seaside. Thank you

Lack of response and false info

The house was cute and nice, but it listed a DVD player on the listing and didn’t have one. When I reached out to Meredith the booking company, they strung me along for two solid days saying they were looking or that they’d get back to me, and never had a solution. It may sound silly, but the DVD player was going to be a big part of our trip as it was a family trip where we were going to watch home videos and other fond memories. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with Meredith and will not be booking anything they manage again.

Confortable, but..

Clean, kitchen nicely stocked with cookware. Comfortable beds. Well stocked with towels. Nice walk to the beach and quiet neighborhood. Billy Macs on U had great food.The back shower did not work. Since one of our party has mobility issues having to step into a tub instead of that shower was an issue. There was only one beach chair and some chair parts, We would have brought chairs if we'd known none were available as listed. 2 bikes not 3 as listed and neither fit anyone in our party. Broken lamp in master and missing or burned out light bulbs in various places. Blinds worked but need replacing. No blind or curtain in kitchen window and the neighbor leaves very bright porch lights on all night. At least you don't need an extra night light! Basically the house needs some loving care and maintenance. Had a husband itching to 'fix' things if you're hiring.

Just OK. Overpriced.

After paying basically 370 a night after all the fees and taxes, we expected better.There’s a fine line between coastal charm and broken down. Furniture was banged up, a broken lamp in the master bedroom, garbage lid that didn’t work, missing towel rack, a garage “game room” with burnt out lightbulbs and lighting that’s so bad you couldn’t really play in the evening because it was too dark.Don’t get me wrong, there was a charm - beds were comfortable as was the sofa in the living room. But then you had these giant captains chairs that were so big you couldn’t walk through. They need just some simple stools there not these big bulky chairs.During the daytime when there was enough light, the kids did enjoy playing ping-pong and foosball in the garage. So those were very nice add-ons.Location was so so. It’s on the edge of town and an about 1.1 miles to the strip so it’s a very good walk if you want to walk to the strip. That said it was close to the beach but a remote beach not the beach down by the strip.For the price, I think you can find better accommodations. If this was 100 less per night, we would probably would stay again but not for this price point.
