Just feet away from crystal clear Mullett Lake!

  • 5 of 5

The most amazing thing about this home is how close it is to Mullett Lake! There is about a 3-foot gap between the back patio and the edge of the lake. The water here is absolutely stunning, and you can hear the waves from the master bedroom. The house itself is great as well. It's in a fairly secluded location, but it's also easy to get to any store/restaurant/neighboring city. The house comes stocked with everything you could possibly need for your stay. We had such a great time and plan on returning during the summer next time!

Owner's Response: Yes, this guest is correct as I truly believe that my cottage sits the closest to the water's edge than any other home/cottage on all of Mullett....we boat Mullett every summer and have been coming to Mullett since I've been born.....it's a pretty awesome waterway! Not to mention the fishing is the best right in front where the water depth drops and the fishing is excellent all seasons....we don't fish, we like to go recreation boating but watching all the locals, they all hang out right in front trolling that area and ice fishing shantys are lined up every winter. When in the home, you hear the waves and all you see is endless water! This truly is a gem of a cottage and love staying at Sunrise as much as possible. We stock up the house with essentials each and every time we stay there just to make sure guests have everything they possibly need plus more!

Had a great time!

  • 4 of 5

Had a great time even though the weather had gotten colder and windy. Really enjoyed the hot tub and campfires at night. Love how close to the water the cabin is. Caught some big fish and explored the area. We would love to stay here again!

Why Northern Lakeshore Vacation Home Rentals LLC chose Mullett Lake

This property boats spectacular views, excellent Fishing and being on the shores of Mullett Lake which connects other lakes and rivers known as Northern Michigan's Famous Inalnd Waterway with the bonus North Central Trail System behind home for biking, hiking, snowmobiling, walking the dog, etc.

The best of both worlds all in one! Way too much to do in the area as I have been coming to Mullett Lake for vacation every since I was born, Beautiful Lake, awesome views:-)Close to just about every and any type of day trip imaginable....You have to come back to do the rest of the stuff you did not have time for as time goes by way too fast.

What makes this cottage unique

Cottage is literally on the shore of Mullett. You sit so close to the shore, you feel as though you are on a boat.

Hearing the waves roll off the rock is the most soothing

sounds.

Car: necessary

Topinabee/Indian River area is the heart of the finest outdoor recreational opportunities that Northern michigan has to offer such as lakes and rivers for boating and fishing, forests for hunting wildlife and mushroom hunting, bird watching and recreational trails for snowmobiling, biking, hiking, cross country skiing and ORV riding converge on Indian River. You can come to Topinabee and Indian River and go fast-water kayaking, ORV riding and sea kayaking all in the same summer weekend. If you'd rather do something more passive, substitute reading a book by the lakeshore or riverfront having lunch while watching boats pass by on the waterway and sitting by a campfire in the evening! Indian River is located between Burt and Mullett Lakes, two of Michigan's largest inland lakes and are part of the Inland Water Route, a 38 mile chain of lakes and rivers that begins in Conway and empties into Lake Huron at Cheboygan. The lakes and connecting rivers are enjoyed by boaters, kayakers, sailboaters and a wide variety of powerboats! Indian River is a prime fishing destination for both professionals and amateur fishermen but the professionals don't enjoy their catch any more than the five-year-old who catches his or her first fish while fishing with grandpa! Indian River is also at the middle of the North Central State Recreational Trail, a 62 mile trail from Gaylord to Machinaw City. The Indian River Golf Club has a beautiful 18 hole course and wthin an hour's drive there are dozens of other 9 and 18 hole courses. The Cross in the Woods is the Worlds largest crucifix. It is one of Michigan's top tourist destinations and draws hundreds of thousands of people to Indian River each year.Indian River is at the northern edge of the Pigeon River Country State Forest, home of the nationals largest wild elk herd east of the Mississippi. The state forest also has miles and miles of forestland for hunting, fishing, mushroom & berry picking, camping and hiking.
