Great Cabin, really enjoyed the hot tub, and the views of the river. Was great that I could dock my boat right out front and go riding at any time we wanted. Plan on staying again in the future.

Awesome cottage, beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cottage the moment we stepped in. It was furnished with beautiful, high end rustic furniture. The beds were comfy, the kitchen well stocked and having and extra 1/2 bath was very much appreciated when our kids came to visit. The large patio doors provided for a clear view of the river, where we watched a flock of white swans and families of ducks and loons each morning. While we decided at the last minute to leave our furry family member at home, the large fenced in yard would have been perfect to let her run and explore. We hope to return next year when we can rent a boat for a day and cruise down Indian River through the chain of lakes.

Fantastic vacation

  • 5 of 5

I was very impressed. It was a very nice cottage. A lot of thought was put into it. Lots of extra things. You basically just just had to bring your clothes and food. Would love to back again.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

THis cottage is awesome. The sunsets are amazing and nice to sit on the dock just to watch the boats and sunsets. We used the kayaks once just to say we did, but since our pontoon was at the dock, we preferred motor power. The fenced yard is perfect for the dogs. The cottage was clean, and the beds were great, although we did not use the bunk beds so don't know about those. The kitchen was well stocked with kitchen gagets and appliances, but did not have a 9x13 brownie pan. That is the one and only negative I can come up with. So if you base your stay on a brownie pan, this is not the cottage for you, everything else is over the top great! We WILL book this cottage again if it is available when we plan a return Michigan trip.

Owner's Response: I'm glad these guests enjoyed their stay and am picking up a brownie pan asap....I thought that cottage had everything.....consider it done for all you brownie lovers....actually, I like my brownies in muffin pans as I like brownies that are on the edge of the pan and when you make brownies in a muffin pan, its crusty all around!!! yum!!!!

Indian River is the heart of the finest outdoor recreational opportunities that Northern michigan has to offer such as lakes and rivers for boating and fishing, forests for hunting wildlife and mushroom hunting, bird watching and recreational trails for snowmobiling, biking, hiking, cross country skiing and ORV riding converge on Indian River. You can come to Indian River and go fast-water kayaking, ORV riding and sea kayaking all in the same summer weekend. If you'd rather do something more passive, substitute reading a book by the lakeshore or riverfront having lunch while watching boats pass by on the waterway and sitting by a campfire in the evening! Indian River is located between Burt and Mullett Lakes, two of Michigan's largest inland lakes and are part of the Inland Water Route, a 38 mile chain of lakes and rivers that begins in Conway and empties into Lake Huron at Cheboygan. The lakes and connecting rivers are enjoyed by boaters, kayakers, sailboaters and a wide variety of powerboats! Indian River is a prime fishing destination for both professionals and amateur fishermen but the professionals don't enjoy their catch any more than the five-year-old who catches his or her first fish while fishing with grandpa! Indian River is also at the middle of the North Central State Recreational Trail, a 62 mile trail from Gaylord to Machinaw City. The Indian River Golf Club has a beautiful 18 hole course and wthin an hour's drive there are dozens of other 9 and 18 hole courses. The Cross in the Woods is the Worlds largest crucifix. It is one of Michigan's top tourist destinations and draws hundreds of thousands of people to Indian River each year.Indian River is at the northern edge of the Pigeon River Country State Forest, home of the nationals largest wild elk herd east of the Mississippi. The state forest also has miles and miles of forestland for hunting, fishing, mushroom & berry picking, camping and hiking.
