Located on Fort Myers Beach, private home with heated pool. On canal with boat dock (awesome fishing right off the dock) and only two blocks to the beach. Enjoy the charm and luxury of this premier beach house. Recently remodeled with new beds, appliances and kitchen cabinets. This house features an open floor plan with dinette in kitchen, huge living room and a lanai with full size dining table for six. There is a screened-in outside patio which has tables and chairs to lounge in around the private heated swimming pool.

The home is tastefully decorated to never let you forget you are in an island paradise. This home features a second living room area and an eating area that seats six in addition to the kitchen dinette that seats two. The pool area offers a new quality gas grill and additional eating area for outdoor entertaining. There is a full sundeck next to the boat dock and also lounge chairs. Only 1/2 block to the historic Mound House which is directly on the bay with a public fishing pier.

Enjoy the huge living room with plenty of comfortable seating. The 55" TV is connected by Fire TV to the internet along with all local channels included.

All bedrooms have new beds; one king and two queen-size beds along with ample closet and dresser space. All of the bedrooms have ceiling fans and two open directly to the lanai through glass doors.

Here you can swim with the dolphins and manatees, search for seashells and sand dollars, fish from the dock or just enjoy floating in the fully heated pool. Convenient to grocery stores (Publix is 3/4 mile away, 7-11 walking distance.) Shopping, and restaurants are also nearby.

We have provided beach chairs, coolers, a wagon to transport your items to the beach and a kayak to explore the beautiful nearby estuaries directly accessible from the dock!
You will be hard pressed to find a vacation rental with these amenities!

Second vacation at this wonderful home!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this cottage.This was my second stay in 3 months and I absolutely loved it. The home is so warm and inviting and is just as described. I loved the soft comfy beds, the pool, dock, bikes and kayaks. We really hated to leave the home and the warm Fort Myers beach weather. I could live there forever. Jim and Liz are so easy to work with and checked in on us to be sure all was fine (which it was). Thank you for sharing such a wonderful home with us. Hopefully you will let us return next year!

Das Haus war sehr sauber und wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. In 5 Minuten ist man am herrlichen Strand zu Fuss. Das Haus ist nicht modern eingerichtet aber es ist alles vorhanden was man braucht. Wir würden es wieder buchen.

The perfect family vacation at FMB

In short: Out vacation at Fort Myers Beach was beautiful and Jim and Liz's home is awesome! All of us have idetified their favorite activites (that does not mean that all of us did not also enjoy all the other things!): The two boys loved the pool the most. My wife loved many walks on the beach, which is perfectly close, and I found paddling in a Kajak through the Mangroves the most fascinating! The house is equipped with everything you need and even much more. And Jim helped instantly with any questions we had. Thank you so much, Liz and Jim for letting us stay at this wonderful place. Perfect home for beach and pool fun

Perfect location:t A quick (block and a half) walk to the beach, has a great pool, is located on the canal for great views and fishing, and is a half block from the Mound House which offers two piers, a nice walking path and great views. It is Well-equipped: We appreciated the bikes, the beach umbrella, the beach wagon, the beach towels and chairs, the large table on the patio with an umbrella that easily seats six, the two lounge chairs, the drying racks for towels and suits on the patio. The owner is responsive and eager to please. We were there for a month and the owner came over to take care of the pool about halfway through our time. He was extremely friendly and responsive when we had a couple of questions. In short, this is a perfect vacation house!

Wonderful time in FT Myers Beach

Our family had a really nice stay at this property. The tandem kayak provided was really awesome and I got to take my son out paddling. Having our own private pool was really convenient and the kids had a great time swimming every day of the stay. The beach is a short walk and the items provided with the rental (beach cart and chairs) came in handy. Overall, I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a rental in this area.

Wonderful Stay

We could not have asked for more in a vacation stay. Everything immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. We were impressed with the provisions within the home as well as the kayaks and bikes. Being on the canal was delightful. Walk to the beach short with many shells to enjoy.

Incredibly Relaxing Vacation

The house was terrific. Access to beach (at the end of the street), as well as the river, and ocean is perfect. We rented a boat one day, brought it to the house, grabbed mom and dad and went off to the beach, super easy and convenient. Took the opportunity to fish in the canal as well as at the "Mound House", caught (& released) a ton of fish, and not just catfish!. Pool was great. Walk-ability to several restaurants was also a plus. Looking forward to coming back again in the future.

Excellent in every way !!

My family loved our stay at the Iquana House ! The location was great, just a quick walk to the beach in a nice and quiet neighborhood. The local grocery store was a 2 minute drive away. My kids used the pool over and over again, along with the sunning area alongside the canal. Having 3 bedrooms was nice for our family, as it gave everyone their own space for downtime. The large living room and extended living room were also great spaces to relax, watch t.v or a movie. The kitchen had everything we needed as far as pots, pans, utensils, dishes and appliances. We utilized the wagon when going to the beach, along with the beach chairs and umbrellas. We also used the bikes that were available. I just can't say enough good things about this property. It was clean, welcoming and comfortable. We loved loved loved it !!! Jim was easy to contact when we had questions and quick to answer emails. Thank you for a great stay and being a part of our family vacation, we are more than pleased and likely to return :) .

Fantastic!

We had a super Great stay. The house has 3 bedrooms 2 on one side and the other across on the other side. Made it nice for a little separation. Loved the open space in front room Loved how many tables they had. Always a place to sit things and still have a place to eat always a table to play games on. Or sit your coffee on. We played in the pool every chance we had. (More lights around the pool would add to it ) also had a place to fish. It was used everyday The kitchen was full with every you needed. Jim called and checked on us to see if we had any questions (very nice) Had a washer and dryer. It to was used. If I was to go back to this area I would rent this place again. We could walk up the street and have beach Sandi

Fantastic Vacation

Having just spent three months in the Iguana Cottage, I can say that it is a wonderfully equipped and comfortable house in a great location. It is has everything you would ever need for a memorable vacation. Jim, the owner, was very responsive to any question or need that we had. He is a wonderful person who will take good care of you. This was our second stay at the Iguana house and again we were able to enjoy the entire week specially since we are able to also have the company of our lab Peanut. This house has a fantastic location and it's proximity to the beach makes it even more so, The items available in the garage (bicycles, beach chairs, umbrella, toys, etc.) are very appreciated since that way we do not need to buy or carry our own. It will be wonderful if the owners would upgrade some of the furnishings since they have seen better times however it is their decision to do so. Even the neighbor is wonderful since we were in need of a screwdriver to help us with a purchased toy and he was able to direct us to the neighbor across the street which graciously lent us one. Hopefully we will be able to repeat our stay.

Wonderful vacation rental

This was our forth stay at this vacation rental. We love the short distance to the beach and saw dolphins in the canal again. This rental is always clean and the atmosphere is comfortable. Would definatley recommend staying here.

Wonderful visit.

Great family vacation rental

Iguana Cottage was a very nice, clean, inviting place to spend a week relaxing. The location is perfect. It is only a very short walk to the beach. The neighborhood is a nice place to take evening walks. While walking my wife met local folks who were very nice, walked along and she made some new friends. In the evening before sunset the place to be is the pier. Great view of the sun setting have your camera ready. While there enjoy Town Square which has street performers, live music along with some fun places to have dinner and some drinks in a very enjoyable atmosphere. Unfortunately the weather was not the greatest but the cottage felt like home and was very comfortable. The beds are nice, clean, and provided good sleep each night. The kayaks were put to great use and the bikes as well. The previous renters failed to take the garbage out and the first time we went to put out garbage the can outside was full of little crawly critters. I called Jim he came right over and took care of the issue immediately. Cannot say enough about the way he handled it. He was AWESOME! The pool even though not huge is nice size and at night with the light on and the water lit up was very cool and very nice. It was actually nice to just look at. The dock in the back looked like an inviting place to try and fish from. So I went across the bridge to Bait and Tackle, bought some hooks, sinkers the fella there was very helpful. He showed me what I needed and nothing more. I will say live shrimp does well as bait and after dark I say have some small pinfish and some circle hooks. Stand on the right side of the dock and cast over towards the seawall and have patience but be ready. I had another pole which I casted by the boat dock across the canal to the right. I had one on that got off by bending my hook straight. I was using small pinfish for bait all bought at Bait and Tackle. We caught some catfish, snapper, a ray, and redfish. One of the redfish was 25 inches long. If you fish try this you will not be disappointed. This is a great place so if you are considering Fort Myers you will not regret going to the IGUANA COTTAGE!!!

Wonderful rental for our family of 5

We really enjoyed our week at the Iguana Cottage. The location is perfect!! Only a 5 minute walk to the beach, and the house is nestled in a cute beach neighborhood. The kitchen and home was well stocked to provide you with a stress free stay. The pool was a great place to relax, and we all loved spending time in it in the evenings. There a bikes provided which we enjoyed using and the wagon provided it perfect for lugging beach chairs and coolers to the beach. The owner is extremely easy to work with and always answers questions promptly. We had no issues during out stay, but the owner lives locally which is a definite plus. We would recommend this house to anyone, and our only regret was only booking it for a week instead of two!!

We've spent a couple of weeks summer vacation in the Iguana Cottage and had a wonderful time. The house is well maintained, very clean, and in a very quiet neighborhood, just a 5 min walk from the beach. Despite its proximity to the beach, the house is far enough away from busy Estero Blvd that absolutely no street noise can be heard. All information in the listing is accurate and what you see is what you get. They were no complications whatsoever and we had no problems with anything in the house or yard. The pool is very nice, too. Jim truly is an extremely responsive and gracious host. We've met a couple of times during our stay, for example, when Jim looked after the pool, and it was a true delight. All communications prior to our stay were very efficient and easy (and the security deposit was refunded within a day after our departure). All in all, a perfect vacation experience. Of the three places we've rented in the Naples/Fort Myers area during the past couple of years, this has been our favorite. Thanks very much to Jim and Liz for a great experience. Another wonderful vacation

This was our second vacation staying at the Iguana Cottage. We got married on the beach and spent time with our family. What a wonderful home. The canal is fun for kayaking (there are 2 in the garage), watching fish jump, and iguanas on the boat dock. We really enjoyed the pool in the screened-in lanai and the grill for cooking out. We enjoy the bikes for a beach ride or loading up the wagon with supplied chairs to go spend a day at the beach. It's in a nice quiet area with wonderful neighbors and a very short walking distance to the beach and restaurants. It's a very clean home with comfortable beds, tastefully decorated, and has everything you need to feel at home. All you need is your luggage and a trip to the nearby grocery store. Can't wait to go back. Jim is wonderful and close by if you need anything. Thanks Jim and Liz, for another wonderful vacation we will never forget!

Lovers of Fort Myers Beach

Iguana Cottage was an excellent holiday home in a perfect location on our favourite beach.A spacious and comfortable home although I feel the cottage was in need of a decor revamp especially the bathrooms. I think the cleaning team need to be checked out as I had to clean both bathrooms on arrival,I removed the mould and mildew covered plastic shower curtain and washed the nylon curtain and bath mats (the wash tub water was darker than the canal).The cockroach bait traps around the cottage showed there was a problem,we did a daily search each morning and removed the beasties before our grandson got to them,it did tail off and we did'nt have any on last 4 days. We have returned to FMB for the past 7 years and will do again, hopefully to Iguana cottage, it had everything we required and more.Our little grandson still asks to go to the beach and to swim in the waterfalls everyday,its our idea of paradise.

We had the luxury of spending one month at Iguana Cottage. The house, accouterments, and location are well described here: The house is roomy enough to be comfortable; it is incredibly well stocked with games, kitchen appliances, movies, kayaks, bikes, etc. ; and it is literally two blocks from the beach. This was our first time to FMB. We didn’t realize that being two blocks from the beach access was a feature worth seeking out. Jim, the owner, was wonderful. He was Johnny-on-the-spot responding to the previous renters concerns described here about plumbing and our operator error with the satellite TV. Jim is invested in making sure his guests enjoy their stay. Also, we appreciated the fact that Jim allows dogs. Our Minnesota dog loved her first trip to Florida. She loved the Iguana Cottage and the Mound House. We’d stay here again.

Great location & roomy.

Stayed at this property for a week with my husband and his parents. The home has plenty of space and great amenities likes pool, kayaks, bikes and beach gear. The location is lovely, on the end of a quiet street a few minutes light walk to the beach. The home has a great patio space with private dock where we were visited by the home's namesake iguana! The only thing that would keep me from returning to this property is that there is a plumbing issue and the tub drains very slow. You are ankle deep in water by the end of a shower. It appeared to me from the guest book that this issue has been ongoing since the owners started renting the property. The only other issue was a torn screen in a section of the lanai that hung open. Overall, enjoyable stay. The owners even went to the trouble to decorate the house for Christmas for our stay.

A comfortable, beautifully furnished and perfectly located home

My family is local and we lost my father in September so I wanted to do something special for my mother this holiday season. She loved the beach all her life and has not been in at least 20 years. So as a last minute decision I had to scatter to find a house. Jim (the owner) was very kind and made this happen for us. He truly went above and beyond to make this a VERY special vacation. The home is comfortable and has everything you need if you show up with a suit case and tooth brush. Her grandchildren came and went as their schedules allowed and there was plenty of space. Activity areas included two dining areas, two living areas, pool and boat dock sitting areas. Heated pool made swimming in any temperature possible and The canoe's, kayaks, bikes and games kept everyone very busy and was a great bonus I don't think you will find anywhere else already in the garage. A very short 5 minute walk to the beach made it possible to get mom there in her wheel chair and she got her toes in the sand for the first time in many years. The Mound House was a lot of fun for both the kids and grown ups. :)) I would highly recommend this home as you can't go wrong.

Awesome Vacation!

I can't say enough good things about our stay in this home. I call it a home because it was in every way a home for us for 5 days. When we arrived one of the screens had come loose but Jim was there right away in the morning to fix it. My only suggestion would be that they post the check in and check out times somewhere. Instructions for working the TV and internet were very good but we couldn't figure out how to turn on the pool light. Turns out it didn't work but the switch still was hard to find. Other than that, it was an awesome time, clean and handy to the beach. Just wish we could have seen a Manatee! :(
