Overview

About the property

Located close to the beach and village, views, pool, beautifully furnished.

CASA VILIANO is a very liveable home, where you can lounge by the pool by day, enjoy the sunset in the evening, and gaze at the stars and the water as you sip your nightcap on the terrace off the master bedroom before bed. The house has two bedrooms on the upper level and can be combined with the casita to make a three-bedroom home. The second bedroom is in a separate building from the main house, so everyone has their privacy. We make an adjustment on the rate if you are only going to use the master bedroom in the house -- AND -- if you need to sleep more than 6 people or have three bedrooms, add Casita Viliano to your booking (listing #910958 -- we will give a special rate for the combined booking -- email for pricing).

Please note: The house is already booked for the HOLIDAYS and then will be owner-occupied until May 1. The casita, however, is available -- great for a couple, or a couple with a child -- check out listing #910958.

The house has two and a half baths and an outdoor shower by the pool; a large, well-equipped kitchen; dining room; living room and three terraces. There are two twin-size daybeds in the living room, which can be used to sleep extra people. A/C is available in the master bedroom for an extra fee (to cover electricity) and is usually necessary June through October.

High quality linens and towels. Beach towels, chairs and umbrellas are provided.

CASA VILIANO is located on the north end of town, just a 10-minute walk to the village and the beach. Most visitors will not need a car. There are golf cart rentals available in the village and these have become very popular. We have generous parking spaces.

RATE CHART GIVES LIMITED INFORMATION! EMAIL FOR MORE COMPLETE RATES. Summary below:

Pricing varies depending on units rented and season, a 10% discount is given for stays of one week or more, there is some room for negotiation.

2-Bedroom house PLUS CASITA (3 bedrooms): Low season -- $250/night (June to October); High Season -- $300/night (November to December 23: and January 9 to June 1); Holiday Season $2,530/wk (We do not book for less than a week during Holiday Season --December 23 to January 8).

We do not book for less than 4 nights during high and low seasons.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

Evening and night views are particularly spectacular, with the twinkling lights of the village below, and excellent views of Sayulita’s frequent fireworks displays.

Cooks love our kitchen, which has high-quality pans, sharp knives and ample utensils. We provide unlimited purified water, toilet paper, paper towels, body wash, dishwashing detergent and Micodyne (for soaking produce), and kitchen sponges. There is maid service twice a week, which means your unit will be completely cleaned and you will be provided with clean sheets and towels.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS

We have house managers, Alex Moeller and Roy Serur, who do check in and check out, and are available to assist with any issues that might arise. When we are in Sayulita, we offer pick up at the airport & drop off for $40 for those who rent the casita. (listing #910958)

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

We live up the street from a very rustic, traditional Mexican neighborhood. There are three rental homes at the top of the hill, all frequently rented as it is a safe, comfortable -- and popular -- location.

GETTING AROUND

Sayulita is a walkable community and you can easily walk to the beach and the village from our house. If you wish to visit other towns, such as San Pancho, there's a bus at the foot of the hill, or taxis.

About Donna Evans-Deyermond

In 2006 we visited Sayulita for the first time, fell in love with it and bought the lot our house now stands on. We live in Buffalo, NY, and have been spendingJanuary to May of each year at our house. Cal is a retired school administrator and I am a Public Relations Consultant. When we are in Sayulita we rent the casita, and when we're in the States we rent the house and the casita. Over the past 10 years we've thoroughly enjoyed the people we've met through renting, and now count many of them among our friends.

Donna Evans-Deyermond purchased this villa in 2007

Why Donna Evans-Deyermond chose Sayulita

We think the location of Casa Viliano is ideal because you can walk to both the village and the beaches from the house. Most renters find Casa Viliano to be more homey and better equipped than the run-of-the-mill rental. We also have a house manager who is readily available to help with any problems that might arise. The village of Sayulita offers lots of restaurants and entertainment, but retains a true Mexican flavor. The north end of the beach is quiet and peaceful, while the village end offers more excitement. If you are reasonably fit, you don't need a car -- and the views from the terraces at night are spectacular!

What makes this villa unique

In addition to location, location, location, at Casa Viliano you can take yoga classes, rent a surf board or a kayak, arrange for surf lessons, or set up a fishing trip. If you are staying at our casita while the house is occupied, you have complete privacy on your own terrace. We also supply beach chairs and beach umbrellas, and -- since we like to cook -- our kitchens are well stocked with Calphalon pots, Fiesta Ware dishes, and sharp knives.

Privacy and Comfort

  • 5 of 5

Casa Viliano is everything it looks to be. Private with plenty of room. Everything you need to cook and live as if it were your own home. The pictures don't lie. The pool is one of the best parts of the house. My wife and I would cool down every afternoon with a dip and a nap under the umbrella after a walk to town and a day at the beach (we did rent a golf cart for a few days - so much fun). There is only A/C in the master bedroom but was just great because we only needed it at night to sleep. (BTW, the bed is extremely comfortable) The rest of the house opens up to the outdoors so A/C not necessary.

Staff:

The pool guy, gardeners, and maid were very quiet, efficient, and timely. All were much appreciated. The House Manager, Roy, was the best! He was available via text or call for any reason or for recommendations. He also rents golf carts and gives a great rate for those who stay at the house. He drops off the cart and picks it up from the front door. Super easy and convenient.

Other Bits:

-There are taxis literally at the entrance to the driveway which will take you to San Pancho for under $10, which I totally recommend.

- Keep in mind this is the jungle. The house is very clean and very nice but you will find occasional bugs on the terraces and pool. No big deal.

-Make your life easy and pack light. Use the Lavanderia down the street to do your laundry (washed folded and wrapped for super cheap) Pick it up the next morning.

-the house has everything you need for the beach. PLENTY of towels, umbrellas, chairs, floaties, etc. You don't need to bring any if you were thinking of doing so.

One last item about the staff: I thought I left/lost my camera somewhere downtown one day much to my disappointment. The night I get home, I received a text from Roy letting me know they found it in the house. They are sending it back to me. The quality of the house matches the quality of the staff. We will be staying here again.

Thank you, Donna, Roy, and Staff.

You got what we need!

Location, Location, Location.

This beauty of a home will help you unwind as soon as you slide open the doors. Close to the fantastic village of Sayulita, it was an easy jaunt down the hill from the house to the beach, restaurants, and even the bus stop, if you choose to explore neighbouring towns/cities (i.e. Punta Mita, Beucerias, Puerto Vallarta, etc) .

The home had a great layout with a huge living room, with sliding doors onto the Veranda and our own pool overlooking the majestic valley. The pool was a great way to start and end the day. We also enjoyed lovingly curated pieces of local art tastefully spread throughout the house. Basically, it was easy to relax in this place.

Equipped with a large kitchen there was space to cook/socialize as a group and we had everything we needed to cook up your own meals when we decided to do so every now and again...however it was hard to cook with all the great food in town. From hot and spicy no look Al Pastor tacos (from Tacos el Ivan) to cannon burritos from Burrito Revolution, great coffee spots, pizza, to local artisans (I could keep going), this place was amazing!

P.S. - Don't forget to look in the binder that Cal and Donna put together for the "to do's" during your stay. I've been to Sayulita multiple times...but I'm glad I took a peruse, it's a good resource.

Highly encourage anyone thinking of going to Sayulita to book this place.

WOW Absolutely Wonderful !

  • 5 of 5

Couldn't ask for more. Cal and Donna went out of their way to make our three week stay all that we could ask for and more. They are both VERY active in the local community with fund raising for the local schools, producing local theater, golfing :-), and yet found time to take us out to several of their favorite restaurants and to hook us up with a golf cart rental. The Casita was very clean and comfy. The bed was great although by nite we were so exhausted we could have slept on a rock or the beach. The Casita has everything you need to cook all your meals at home, however we found we could eat out for the same or LESS that what it cost to buy and prepare meals at home. Mamma Mia's was our favorite Italian restaurant and Ruben's has awesome sandwich's and salads large enough to feed 2 people for less that $6.00 us or 110 pesos. Pacifico Beer on the beach with and awning and 2 beach chairs is 30 pesos.( $1.50us ) Bus travel is VERY easy and inexpensive. Buses run all day every 20 minutes or so and it cost $4.00us round trip to Puerto Vallarta. Friday's farmers market was very interesting with a lot of homegrown fruits and veggies and also many handcrafted original items. The farmers market, downtown, and the beach's are all within a short walking distance however coming home there are some hills you may have to stop and catch your breath!! I will recommend Casa/Casita Viliano to my friends and family and hope to return again soon. Thanks again to Cal and Donna for a wonderful three weeks in Paradise !! Pete & Sue

Better than Home!

  • 4 of 5

Everything is exactly how they advertise. Plenty of everything, great beds, towels(including beach), dishes and all the extras that show the owners live there when not renting to us lucky people. We really appreciated the beach umbrella and chairs. This is a perfect place for people who don't mind a short steep walk on rutted road to the various activities. You can always rent a golf cart from Roy and problem solved.
