The Bungalows is a small development with just 53 units built around flowered courtyards, three pools and a river along the east side. It's quiet with a mix of families, couples, etc. Please note, we do not allow pets or renters under the age of 25 to preserve the quality and comfort of our beach paradise.

We're just a quick 5 minute walk to the beach and close to great shops and restaurants (check out our location description for great tips on things to do and favorite restaurants/shopping!). The Seagrove area is a great, growing location with all the amenities of the nicest areas on 30A at a much more affordable price.

Our Bungalow has one of the best locations in the development - a large pool and hot tub just a few steps away from our door, but not on top of the pool. You can still watch the kids without hearing every noise and splash in the house while enjoying our comfy new chairs on the front porch. And, we back up to the parking lot for easy unloading and parking. Plus, we have one of the only bungalows with upgraded bathrooms including storage space for all your toiletries - a small, but very convenient plus!

Why Terry Johnson chose Beaches of South Walton

Welcome to our dream - a beach home in our favorite vacation spot! We've been coming to the Destin area for over 30 years and we've stayed just about everywhere! We're picky and it shows! Seagrove Beach offers just the right combination of quiet relaxation and fun things to do! We love the convenience of restaurants and the beach within quick, easy walking distance.

What makes this bungalow unique

The first time I saw the cozy front porch of this happy yellow house, I fell in love! The perfect spot for my favorite relaxation in a comfy chair with a beach and a big glass of wine after a long day of beach and sun.

We're an active family and also enjoy the convenient access to bike rentals and walking/running trail along 30A that truly is so scenic you forget how many miles you've invested!

With so much to offer, we know you'll love Yellow Palms as much as we do!

Guestbook comments from the manager

The Bungalow was beautiful, appeared to be freshly painted and very comfortable.

Great location and pool and close to Seaside and Rosemary Beach.

Our 3rd trip to Seagrove Beach and 2nd at Bungalows. We will be returning!

A great place to stay with your family. We will definately go back again!

  • 5 of 5

Excellent place to stay while on vacation for a week with your family. A short walk to the beach and the location of the condo is great. There was plenty of space for my family of five. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wishes to stay here on their next vacation. We are already talking about when we will go next year. It is extremely family friendly. This is our new favorite spot!

NEEDS A GOOD OVERALL CLEANING AND PAINTING. A Lot of mold and mildew on exterior!

  • 2 of 5

This was our first time to stay at The Bungalows and were excited to have a month away from the cold weather. I loved the photos of this Bungalow and decided this was the one to book but the pictures must be from when it was first build or renovated because it wasn't as clean as shown. There was A LOT of mold/mildew on the exterior and in the showers, even inside the gas grill. On the porch underneath the grill is one large greasy mess. I asked management twice to bring another grill but after the second request they came over and scraped the mold, mildew and rust to the bottom of the grill and left it there. We then went to Walmart and bought our own (I recommend you do the same). The carpet is very soiled and I had to throw away the sock that I wore inside because they wouldn't come clean. The sofa is soiled and uncomfortable. The bathroom wall paint is coming off due to the over spray of cleaning products. I opened a window and there was a tremendous buildup of dirt and grime almost to the point of not getting it opened. The master bath's shower curtain and rod fell 5 times and I kept reinstalling it then finally gave up and used the other shower for the remainder of my visit. One of the living rooms lamp's switches would not turn off so you have to unplug it each time you use it (perhaps a fire hazard?).

The owner needs to review and take the time to paint all the interior bathrooms and exterior, clean carpets, windows and furniture, install a quality shower rod and curtain that is sturdy enough to stay in place. Most importantly get rid of the mold and mildew!

We had a 6:00 A.M. wake up twice a week with the garbage collectors empting the dumpsters located directly in back of the house.

I have lived on the coast and know the challenges of keeping up a house and I am also aware of the abuse a rental unit receives but it's the owner who needs to take a time out from renting to make it look as clean as the photos represent. This could be a charming place to rent if cleaned! We are all aware of the hazards of being around mold.

The kitchen was adequately supplied cook wares for basic cooking. The interior of the kitchen cabinets and appliances were clean. The screws that secured the dishwasher to the cabinet had fallen out (I found one inside the dishwasher) therefore the dishwasher tilted forward when the door was opened.

4 timer

  • 5 of 5

This was our 4th trip in a row to this area and specifically this condo. Why do we keep coming back, it is an easy answer. The beach is perfect, the condo location is conveniently located to all you need to do . We rented bikes (a first) this year for the teenagers , they loved it. Price was more than reasonable. We visited the now more conveniently new location of the famous Donut Hole twice. Took in a lunch at Great Southern (1st time) at Seaside, best lunch of the trip. The Hub30a is new to the area and is a great place to hang out in the evenings for some local music, cocktails, food. Check their facebook page for daily lineup. Visited Goatfeathers for fresh steamed shrimp, its only been a year but had forgotten how good it is. We will definitely be back !

First, but not last, trip!

  • 5 of 5

At the recommendation of a family member, we booked this condo and made our first trip to the Seagrove area in early June, and it definitely won't be our last! We were extremely pleased with the beaches, the shopping, the restaurants, and this lovely home. The property management was very easy to work with, the rate was reasonable, and the customer service we received both when booking and during check-out was friendly and efficient. The condo is smartly decorated, the bedrooms and bathrooms are roomy, the kitchen is modern and well-stocked, and the pool and hot tub are just steps away. The location is excellent, within walking distance – or, in our case, a VERY short drive – to the beach. We ate at several nearby restaurants, including Seagrove Market, and had great experiences at each one. We picked up delicious fresh seafood almost every day from Goatfeathers just down the street. We also made quick drives into Destin and Fort Walton for shopping, golf and a sailboat cruise – very convenient! Beach trips, usually to Gulf Shores or Daytona Beach, are an annual tradition for us, and the beaches in Seagrove and Seaside were the prettiest we'd ever seen. The water was perfect – turquoise and calm and clean – and the beaches were busy but not overly crowded. Seaside, about a mile away, is so charming and worthy of at least a day of your time exploring via bicycle (easily rented) or by foot. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this area and are already making plans for next year. Thank you for providing such a lovely "home away from home" for us; we can't wait to stay here again!

We liked the pool.

  • 3 of 5

This place has a lot of potential. The pool itself was worth it, especially for our young kids, and was just a few steps from the house. The house itself need a lot of love. It was smaller than we expected, which wasn't really a big deal. It was definitely in need of a deep cleaning (mildew/ mold on bathroom curtain, large dust bunnies behind couch, kitchen counter and kitchen floors in need of a scrubbing) and possibly an update of some worn out furniture. Overall though everything worked. The walk to the beach was a bit longer than we anticipated especially since we had to walk on the road which didn't have a side walk and it was a rather busy street. Having the Tom Thumb at the end of the road came in handy (although that is an extremely busy place and contributed to a few traffic issues getting in and out). There are a few places that are with in walking distance to eat, which was nice. It was nice being close to Seaside but that is a very congested area. We did like that we were a short drive to either Destin or Panama City for lots of other options of things to do or places to eat.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. Although we have never received only 3 stars before, everyone has their own unique experience based on their expectations. I will have our cleaning company review their procedures as it is cleaned before each guest checks in and should be thoroughly cleaned. As you can imagine our Bungalow is used nearly every day during the Summer months and is subject to some wear and tear. I apologize if you feel like the Bungalow did not live up to its billing.

Yellow Palms has it all! Just 2 blocks from the beach and less than a mile east of trendy (and much more pricey) Seaside. Enjoy drinks from the unique rooftop bar of 723 Whiskey Bravo; pizza and pasta at reasonable prices at local favorite Angelina's; eclectic, yummy breakfast and lunch at Cowgirl Kitchen and fancy fare at Cafe 30A - all just a few blocks from Yellow Palms. And don't forget the many great restaurants and shops of Seaside or venture a little further east to the up and coming Rosemary Beach, a highly sought after planned community based on Old West architecture with a New Orleans feel (think brick-lined paths, gardens and stucco all mixed together!)

There's plenty to do! Seagrove Beach is just the right mix of space and beachlovers - not too busy and not deserted! Beach service is available or borrow our coolers and beach chairs - just an extra courtesy to you!! The water sports of Destin are just 20 minutes away including deepsea fishing, boat rentals, tubing, etc. - everything you can think of. If it involves water, you can find it in Destin.

Want a bicycle for the week? No problem - inexpensive bikes can be rented with free drop-off and pick-up or do it yourself from a shop just a block or so away.

Out of ice? Gotta have a coffee in the morning? Tom Thumb is one block away on the corner of 30A and Somerset Bridge Rd.

Gotta get that workout in? Relax, you're on vacation! But, for the truly serious, enjoy the walk/run/bike path along 30A that offers over 30 total miles of uninterrupted, safe trail with lots to look at. Additionally, there are lots of little yoga and pure barre studios in the Seagrove Beach and Watercolors areas and a couple fitness centers offering day or week pass access in Destin.

Familiar with the area? Our family has been traveling to the Destin area for over 30 years. We're picky about where we selected our beach home! We most enjoy the balance of Seagrove Beach - all the amenities are close by, the beach is easily accessible and the Bungalows community is beautiful, quiet Florida cottage at its best.
