Stayed over Labor Day weekend for a Hawk game at Kinnick. Plenty of room for the entire family to spread out. There was an Excessive Heat Warning issued by the National Weather Service during our stay and the A/C worked without issue. What a relief after spending the afternoon baking in the sun. Would definitely stay again. Only complaint: there wasn’t any ground coffee available. We left our coffee behind for the next guests enjoy.

Lisa was super helpful with all my questions. The cabin is cute, clean and perfect for our needs. Loved staying there and hope to visit again when we can enjoy it more. Booked to stay at the weekend of my sons wedding.

This was the perfect place to stay for a very busy graduation weekend. Big porch, fire pit and barbecue were big hits. A very nice place to unwind and spend time relaxing with friends and family. Thank you!

The property was awesome. We had 10 guys on our annual fishing trip and the cabin had enough space for all of us !! It’s located very close to lake McBride and coralville reservoir. I couldn’t ask for a better place to stay, and Lisa the host was awesome too !!!!!! If you needed anything, she called right away to help, thank you Lisa and thank your cleaning lady also , place was clean and overall beautiful!!!!!!!

We absolutely loved our stay at this cozy cabin! It was the perfect location for our Thanksgiving getaway and had everything our family needed to relax and enjoy time together. The space was clean, comfortable, and beautifully set up for a peaceful retreat. The host was welcoming and accommodating, which made the whole experience even better. We would definitely stay here again

We enjoyed this cozy, rustic cabin for our winter crafting retreat. We loved the warm fire in the wood stove to take the chill of the late winter weather. The kitchen was well equipped and nice and clean, and we prepared most of our meals there, though we enjoyed visiting a couple of excellent restaurants in town as well. We loved that we could bring our pets, and we took many long walks with them in the Lake MacBride State Park, a stone's throw from the cabin. There were three couples and it was nice having three separate bedrooms and bathrooms.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the cabin in the woods!The kitchen was well stocked and communication was great. We didnt spend time outside but can only imagine how nice it would be in the summer! There are quite a few steps in the cabin but that was not a big problem for our group.

I grew up in Iowa near here and enjoyed the family picnics at the state park. My extended family is still in the area! We now live in downtown Chicago, and this retreat is a great escape from our hectic lives.

Why they chose this property

My family has been enjoying Lake MacBride since it first opened. My grandmother told me about her experiences growing up and enjoying the lake so she made sure to bring her children. My mother has great stories of Lake MacBride and the Coralville Reservoir and she made sure to bring me and my brothers! Now a fourth generation, my own daughters, are growing up with peace and tranquility because of this fabulous property.
