About the property

...................and you have your own pool and hot tub too.

Close your eyes and imagine...your day begins with a steaming cup of hot coffee in hand as you lean up against a mountain of pillows in bed and watch the waves crash against the shore for as far as your eye can see. Longing to spend the day just like this, you remember that the family is gathering in the upper gazebo, to watch the sunrise over the ocean. The sound of many voices speaking at once greets you, as you listen to them excitedly discuss the many options for the day.

And the options are many - day trips to sight see or shop in Morehead City, Swansboro, New Bern or even Wilmington, a ferry ride to Bear Island for shelling and solitude, a kayak ride in the ocean or among the shallows in Bogue Sound, a pontoon or power boat rental at a nearby marina, a bike ride into town along the bike path that winds through the island.

But with the morning progression, you day dream of watching the sunset over Bogue Sound while relaxing in the outdoor hot tub. You now ponder a leisurely day under the beach umbrella reading a novel while the kids dash in and out of the waves with their boogie boards and build enormous sand castles on the beach.

Our hunt for the perfect beach home occurred over eight or ten years. We visited resort towns in five states and found the friendliest beach with the best value and atmosphere right here in Emerald Isle. We wanted a clean, wide beach with sparkling blue/green ocean water just in reach so our access to the beach is simply a walk out of our front door.

And, would you appreciate having a selection of restaurants with delicious local seafood caught daily? Would you like them to be close by with no long lines to contend with? (Are you already getting the idea that we’re quite picky?) And as everyone knows, no one EVER goes to the beach to clean house or make beds. Upon arrival you will find the house clean with linens and bath towels provided and the beds are even made for you!

We wanted to make sure that our guests can invite plenty of friends and extended family. Beach houses are for sharing, and our beach house is so big you may lose someone if you’re not careful. Imagine the luxury of having two living rooms, one for the children and one for the adults.

Last but not least, Emerald Isle has all of the trimmings of most beach communities, but doesn’t overwhelm you and it keeps its prices to a manageable scale. You'll be able to start saving for next year!

We have included lots of pictures on our web site. Seeing the pictures is important but it is a MUST to watch the VIDEO, which ties the pictures together and tells a complete story. For important and excellent area information please email us. We want to meet your needs rather than try to sell you something so check out Emerald Isle for yourself and ask any additional questions you have.

Like all owners we try to put our best foot forward but don't listen to us........see what past renters have said by reviewing the comments section.

Check the online calendar to make sure the dates you want are available before contacting us. We do keep it up to date.

Thank you so much for visiting our website.

About The Owner

I live in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC and raised two children. I am a CPA with a small tax/accounting practice and a money coaching program. I recently started a podcast called "Financial Karma" where I discuss money matters, interview fascinating guests about the meaning behind money and the health and wellness required for financial success. When I'm not at the beach making the house ready for visitors or keeping up with maintenance, I travel, help my children, family and aging parents. I walk, read and craft but spend most of my time in my active social life and being of service to others. Mine is a rich and joyful life.

The Owner purchased this house in 2004

Why The Owner chose Emerald Isle

My extended family and I traveled up and down the East Coast for annual summer reunions and stayed at a number of great beaches until the late 1990's. When we found Emerald Isle we knew we had found our "home" for summer travels. After a time, I bought this oceanfront property because I knew I had found the right one for me and had a strong need to experience the sense of openness and freedom the beach provides me. I love being able to share it with my guests every summer and in some of the off-season months. I have travelers from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Tennessee, Kentucky, the Carolina's and more.

What makes this house unique

I'm not bragging when I say I have the best view on Emerald Isle. This is because the house is situated at "The Point" where the Atlantic Ocean and Bogue Sound meet.........BY THE WAY, the traveler map on this site does NOT show the house in the right place, it's not at the end of the street Bogue Court but is in fact at the corner of Bogue Court and Inlet Drive, with the ocean right in front of you, with an unobstructed view. Spectacular. The pool, hot tub and second floor gazebo are very popular and fun for the whole group. As to the inside, the house is an inverted floor plan, so the top/second floor is the living/dining/kitchen/wet bar area with plenty of windows. The master bedroom and full bath with tub and glass shower are also on this top floor as well as a powder room. The first floor has four bedrooms (one of which makes a great kids bunk room) and three full baths as well as a second living room area and a laundry room. Our end of the island is easy to get to and from during the busy summer because when you come across the bridge, you immediately turn and avoid the "downtown" Emerald Isle area.

A message from the owners:

We have a fantastic place. There is not a shadow of a doubt in our mind. BUT you would expect us to say as much, because we want you to come and get you to help pay our mortgage! Don't be wooed by our BS. What you should pay heed to is what past renters have said. They are wearing the same shoes you have on. Here is what they have to say:

A little slice of heaven

  • 5 of 5

Upon arrival, I was the first one to go upstairs to the kitchen. After clearing the top step, I raised my head to see a view that photos do not do it justice. I couldn't imagine a more perfect home to vacation with our children and grandchildren. It was nice to walk into a clean home and didn't want for anything. Thank you Debbie for allowing us into your home. We enjoyed the island, made many memories, and are blessed beyond measure. I would love to return one day.

Beautiful House & Excellent Location!!

  • 5 of 5

The ocean & sound views were amazing. The house was well equipped and there was plenty of space for the 14 of us! We enjoyed the beach in the morning & the pool in the afternoon/evening! The bikes were another bonus. If you walk along the point, look for the mailbox & leave a note. The sand bar at low tide is a great place to find large shells. There is no better place to see the beautiful sunset. We will definitely be going back!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much Becky. I'm so glad you and your family/group had a great time. I love it when people appreciate the bikes. I think they're a real bonus and fun just to ride around the Point area. Most of all, I'm intrigued by "just look for the mailbox and leave a note". Where is that???? Hope you'll return soon.

Awesome House for our first time on Emerald Isle

  • 5 of 5

The house was amazing the views of the sound and the ocean were welcome sights each morning. The furniture was comfortable and was warm and inviting. We had 6 kids under the age of 9 and they all loved the pool, the hot tub, and enjoyed the bikes. It was great having all of the beach equipment available and made it much easier to enjoy the ocean. For anyone staying at this house be aware that the beach is very long so it is a bit of a walk to the ocean, but the beach is quiet and one of the cleanest beaches I have ever been to. I would stay again in a heartbeat!

Owner's Response: Shaun, I'm very happy when families have a good experience at Emerald Isle, especially when it's their first time. We are almost a well kept secret when it comes to Carolina and East Coast beaches. I've been to many but fell in love and never go anywhere else. If there is a "downside" to my location, it's the long walk across the sand. I figure it's good exercise, right? Thanks so much for you kind review and I hope you come back and see me/us down at The Point.

Perfection!

  • 5 of 5

We were visiting Emerald Isle because a family friend/photographer was doing our family portraits on the beach. When we told her where we were staying, she exclaimed, "Oh my goodness, that's perfect! My favorite place to shoot is The Point! That's right where you are!" The location of this home worked out perfectly for us. We are a family of 5, with three young children; one of which is 12 months old. Debbie (the owner) had thought of everything. From the pack and play (and sheets) to the highchair to the pool room full of beach toys and a list of local places to eat and shop, all of our needs were met. There was even a bedrail in the bunkbed room, in case you needed it for smaller children. There was a closet FULL of books and games. My kids were very excited about this, but honestly, they spent most of their time on the beach. If the weather had been awful, the games, books and dvd players would have all come in handy. There are TV's in almost all the rooms. This was important to us, as our children rarely agree on what to watch. Also nice to have were ceiling fans in all the rooms, plenty of towels, fully stocked kitchen, lots of table space (if you have a larger group going, there is plenty of room for everyone to eat together), several bathrooms and showers, and lots of lights/lamps (also important to us because our kids sleep with nightlights, that we had forgotten). The pool was a little cold, as we came in April, but the kids got in anyway and loved it! We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub after the kids went to bed. The second floor gazebo was our favorite spot. Great view, away from the house as not to wake anyone, and so peaceful. The neighborhood is very quiet and everyone was friendly. I had a chance to speak with the pool maintenance guy and he mentioned Debbie was one of the better homeowners, that she loves her home and her guests. It's not "on the beach" technically, but the public beach access means there is no blocked view! And being at the end of the island, you have easy access to the beach and the sound. Before we left, my kids asked if we could move here! Debbie was very helpful and kind, and kept in communication before and after the trip. Needless to say, I highly recommend this property. We had a wonderful vacation.

Owner's Response: Thank you SO much, Amy. What a wonderful review and how kind you are to take so much time with the details of your visit. I'm really glad you had so much fun with your family and you're right, The Point is the best part of Emerald Isle and the best place to stay. Hope you can come again really soon.

Perfect View

  • 5 of 5

The most extraordinary view one could ask for on vacation. The ocean and the inlet all in one, the beautiful beach stretching out in front of you calls you each morning for a long walk. The home is beautifully decorated with bright colors, you can't help but feel energized each morning. The gazebo was a favorite spot for the entire family to gather in the morning and in the evening . Can't forget the bikes available for riding around the island, the pool to cool off in and the hot tub to relax in at the end of the day. Great layout and plenty of room for the family. Can't wait to return.

Owner's Response: I always just tell potential renters that they won't be disappointed by the view. It's hard to explain until you get there. You were able to do just that. Glad you enjoyed the bikes I provide (most houses don't have EIGHT) too. Please come back soon.
