Clean and Cozy
Loved our stay at Wild Bill's in the Durango room. We were greeted by the sweetest lady. She had the cutest personality and she made us feel so welcome and made sure we knew exactly where to park and how to get around. She took us up to our room and gave us her cell number in case we needed anything after the ski shop was closed. The room was very clean, which is a deal breaker for me if it's not. It was comfy and cozy and we just loved it. The towels were soft and the mini kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. It's in the perfect location too! We walked everywhere! Would definitely stay here again.
Room was charming and clean. However, the Go-Kart place next door is open 9 am to 9 pm and the noise is very unpleasant. If you go during the winter months they may be closed so that would be good. It would also be nice to have a terrace or patio to be able to enjoy the beautiful weather. Keep in mind it is on a second floor so if you have much luggage can be difficult.
We had a wonderful time. The room was beautiful and extremely well remodeled for the area. It's probably one of the nicest rooms around. The beds were great and the views beautiful. It was also a perfect location to walk everywhere in town. Lyn and the staff were so accommodating and helpful. We would stay there again on our next trip.
We really enjoyed our recent two-night stay at Wild Bill's Lodging. The Durango Room was attractive and comfortable, with plenty of room to spread out and relax. Well-stocked (except for shampoo and tissues, which they supplied upon request), it was a perfect "home base" as we headed out for fly-fishing and exploring the area. One extremely handy touch: shelves with hooks for your keys, right by the door! Our hosts were especially kind and helpful, even allowing us to use their fax machine when special circumstances arose for us. We felt right at home! One heads up: There is a go-kart track nearby. It wasn't operating while we were staying at Wild Bill's, and I'd bet it closes early, but you might want to check. Overall - an especially homey, cozy room, and very friendly hosts - a great combination.
Nice and Cozy, but...
Overall, nice and cozy and a good view from the porch of the ski area. I liked the comforts of the place, and the owner/manager people in Wild Bill's are friendly as can be. Warning though if you stay during the summer: Gas-powered Go-Carts!!! Right next door is a go-cart business and they run those things in the morning around 8-9am to warm them up for the day, and then all day long as people come and go to ride the loud things. While having coffee in the mornings on the porch it was a bit irritating to have that noise accompany my desire for the sounds of nature and some serenity. And, if you want to get back later in the day to take a nap, you may have to battle through the noise of the go-carts. Nevertheless, the place is cozy, reasonably priced and a good place to stay as a couple.
Wild Bill's is great!
We had a great stay here. Lynn was such a great guide for what to do and the location was awesome, right in the middle of Main Street and close to EVERYTHING.
Beautiful Red River New Mexico is located in the heart of Carson National Forest of New Mexico. Red River Ski Area is located in the heart of town. Red River is glorious any time of year, but summer and winter are the premier tourist times, with skiing and snowboarding in winter, and hiking, fishing, camping and horseback riding in the summer time
