Perfect island getaway for the family

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a week stay at the Pink Beach House, and we miss it already. For starters, the owner has done a fantastic job of providing a comfortable "home away from home" in paradise. Karen provided all the information we needed to plan a fun, first trip to the Caymans. The property was everything as advertised ... clean, well-appointed and charming. Karen has provided everything a family would need to enjoy their stay ... plush beach towels, snorkeling gear, reef shoes, pool toys and beach chairs. We spent our first day kayaking along the inside of the barrier reef and saw a spotted eagle ray within minutes of hitting the water. Our two young children -- ages 3 and 5 -- enjoyed splashing around in the pool, combing the beach for "treasures" and exploring the shallows along the shore. This is definitely a house for ocean lovers. And the location couldn't be better. The house is just a short drive to Rum Point which has a nice beach-front bar and grill, a sandy beach that's perfect for small children (and a great place to escape on a windy day) and boats that will take you out to Stingray City. Head the other direction to the East End, and you'll enjoy natural scenery you can't get on the crowded Seven Mile Beach. Be sure to check out two fantastic restaurants, Tukka and Eagle Ray's. At night, we sat on the beach and watched the moon rise over the coconut trees while sipping some of the island's small-batch rum. If you want to experience the Caribbean away from the crowds and noise, I couldn't recommend a better house to stay in. We're already looking at the calendar to see when we can come back.

Perfect Paradise

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a relaxing, private getaway, this is your house! The location is perfect. Its on the quiet side of the island but only a short drive to Rum Point and Starfish Beach. The beach was very private. There were many days where we saw no one at all and at most we saw one person a day just walking by. We had the whole beach all to our selves!

The house has amazing views of the ocean from every bedroom. It's very well laid out and was very comfortable. It has a very large selection of movies, books, board games, and puzzles. There are sand toys, which my kids loved, and plenty of floats and pool noodles for the pool.

The snorkeling at the house was amazing. We saw sting rays, an eagle ray, many conch, sea urchins, a plethora of colorful fish and many different kinds of coral. The snorkeling was best out by the breakers. Even on days where it was too rough to head out to the breakers we were able to enjoy snorkeling farther in. We found the best way to get out past the sea grass was to go to the sand bar and head out to snorkel from there. We also enjoyed snorkeling and swimming in the pools that came off of the sand bar.

We took trips to Rum Point, Starfish Beach, and the Turtle Farm. We went to Rum Point in the afternoon to avoid any cruise ships crowds. We snorkeled around the small reef there to right of the pier and even saw a nurse shark. The kids loved finding star fish at Starfish Beach. We even saved a bunch that someone had placed near the shore that were about to wash up. The Turtle Farm was a nice day trip and something we will never forget. We spent the rest of our time at the house. It was so perfect that we just didn't want to go anywhere else.

We are at Over the Edge, Tukkas, Eagle Rays, Kaibo downstairs and Kaibo upstairs for our anniversary dinner. We enjoyed all of our meals. The lion fish tacos at Eagle Rays were our favorite as was our special dinner at Kaibo upstairs.

This was the best family vacation we have ever taken. I have recommended the Pink Beach House to all of my friends!

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from one of the most amazing trips we have ever taken. Pink Beach house is far enough from all the hassle of 7 mile beach but still not too far away to get out if needed. We loved the privacy and peace. It has pretty much anything you need: well stalked kitchen, including spices, grill, beach toys, kayaks, snorkeling equipment of any size and/or color. The house is also very cute and homey, with lots of books, games and movies available. The pool is perfect size. The beach does have some seaweed but you can go around it and once you are at the breakers the snorkeling is amazing. My husband and father went scuba diving and loved it. Our favorite excursions was Sting Ray tour. It is one of a life time experience and I highly recommend it. Both my kids, 8 and 12, loved it.

The only issue we had, was that upstairs fan in one of the bedrooms was very loud and we had to turn it off, but air conditioning was good, and it was not that big of a deal.

I would highly recommend Pink House to anybody, and can't wait to go back there. It is like a little peace of paradise!

Too nice to be true?

  • 5 of 5

The picture looks so ideal that my first suspicious thought was of all those other pictures of resorts that give a favorable but distorted impression. My daughter found this place after I suggested a conventional hotel. Quite a bit more expensive...but absolutely worth every penny! Our party was my daughter, son-in-law, their 3 and 5 year old children, and me, for 10 days.

First, the house. To sum up, we found the PBH to be just as idylic as the pictures. We all spent a lot of time in the pool, plenty on the beach, but not much on the reef, since we were scuba-diving elsewhere. We enjoyed watching the wildlife in the yard, and the little kids watched some movies. Facilities, kitchen supplies and amenities were first class, including a good stock of spices and condiments. Wish we had played with the kayaks more, but we were busy doing lots of other fun stuff. Can't improve on the house!

Location: Our private beach was just right; there was rarely anyone else in sight on the shore. We had no interest in Seven Mile Beach, overdeveloped for our taste. Rum Point and the eastern island have very nice restaurants, both fancy and kid-friendly, and my favorite dive shop is 20 minutes away. Stingray City, the bioluminescence tour, the botanical gardens/blue iguana conservation site are all very convenient. 5 minutes to a convenience store, 20 to the grocery, 40 to the airport, an hour to the turtle farm. "Stay left, Grampa!" Driving on the left was easier than I thought it would be.

Weather: sure enough, it was pretty hot and humid in July. But in the pool it made no difference, the wind was steady, there was very little rain, and we were conscientious and didn't get sunburned. The mosquitos came out promptly between 7:00 and 7:30, so we easily avoided them, and were able to get back in the pool later.

Support: The house was spick and span when we arrived. The owner had lots of contact with us before arrival, sent a ton of info, and responded promptly while we were there, when we accidentally messed up the wi-fi. The pool service showed up both Mondays.

I highly recommend the Pink Beach House, and would happily repeat this vacation.

Pink House Grand Cayman

  • 5 of 5

Our trip was fantastic and the house was great. So nice to have the kayaks, snorkeling gear, etc. The reef was fantastic behind the house and we saw lots of fish. Saw a big barracuda and a large tarpon. We also snorkeled at Rum point, cemetery beach, and Smith's Cove. Very cool to be able to go anywhere and feel safe. We went to a lady's house on the road across from Chisolms grocery and got fresh mangos and fresh squeezed mango juice. We did the bioluminescence tour and went to the turtle farm. We did all our eating at Rum point, Kaibo, and Over the Edge. All were great. Again - the vacation was fantastic and the house was a great location and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fantastic stay at a terrific home!

  • 5 of 5

The home is better than described on the website. Fantastic location, great snorkeling from the beach right out front. Would recommend renting a car to explore the island. We will be back.
