Property is beautiful. Very spacious with spectacular mountain views. Location is very clean. However, one of our guest claimed to have a problem with insect bites and temperature in one of the upper rooms. Also, visitors should be informed/warned about the steep terrain to get to the property.

Everything was as stated on website. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Spacious house and views are beautiful. If kitchen area was alittle bigger would be great. We cooked a lot and preparing space alittle limited. But overall with our large family we had a wonderful time.

Tanasi Lodge is perfect for large groups. Our party of 21 family members, with ages from 2 on up, was easily accommodated. The lodge is well-maintained and quite clean. The game room and movie theater were particularly appreciated by our younger family members. There were great views over two separate mountain valleys. I would recommend this property highly.

House was clean and beautiful, as advertised. No issues. Host was very responsive to my questions.Very spacious, we had up to 21 people staying at one time (all adults) and there was plenty of space for everyone. The views are GORGEOUS. This house is at the peak of a mountain with views on both sides.Would stay here again if I had a big enough group to need 10 bedrooms.

Exceptional property!! We had a family reunion at Tanasi Lodge and couldn’t have been happier. The property is extraordinary - it sits perched at the top of a glorious mountain. Views to die for in all directions. We saw the sunrise and sunset every night. They had a beautiful fire pit outside too. The rooms are large and beautiful. The game room and movie room were a huge hit. Fabulous time!!

Mountain top delight

Our family spends every Christmas in the pigeon forge area. As we grow, we need more room! This is the best large cabin we’ve stayed in. The unit was fantastic. The outdoor fire pit became a favorite nightly gathering place. This was an excellent location.

Family Vacation

We had 17 adults and 5 kids, and this house had plenty of room for everyone. Having two kitchens was a great help with all of us. The kids loved the movie theater and game room. The views from both sides of the house we're absolutely gorgeous. House was clean, quick drive to gatlinburg and pigeon forge, but still secluded. We'd definitely stay here again in the future!

Great place for large families

We had a great stay at Tanasi Lodge July 8th to July 15th. The views from every floor and bedroom were amazing. We ordered BBQ from Jackie and he delivered it to us on Tuesday- it was fabulous and we had leftovers for the next 2 days. We liked staying on the outskirts away from the hustle and bustle but yet only a 30 minute drive to anything you could want. We ordered pizza (online) from Big Daddy’s Pizzaria and would highly recommend it. The bruschetta was a highlight. It is about a 25 minute drive to get there but it was still warm when we brought it home. On another note, for those looking to book in 2024, I believe they are putting in a pool which takes this place over the top!! For context, we had 21 family members staying in the Lodge.

2 families’ bi annual vacation

We had Grandparents to a 3 month old…making a total of 22 humans in between. Roses… Everyone had a great place to rest but really we loved the spaces to visit, 4 balconies, 2 living spaces and the wonderful playroom ( kids haven). We so enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets off the balconies with our coffee or wine. The Lodge was a great central location. We laughed by mid-week, everything is 30 minutes away. Thorns…I wish the house had been stocked with the staples, not just starters, of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, and dishwasher detergent. For the price of the stay, I don’t believe this is too much to request. Overall it was the perfect experience.

Perfect venue for family reunion

27 of us ages 3 months to 77 years had a once in a lifetime experience. Tenasi was exactly as described. The descrption fell short of the actual facility. Stunning views from both front and back both inside and from any of the four long balconies. Lots of room for all of us together or places for solitude. Comfortable bedrooms for all 7 married couples wither either private or "Jack n Jill" bathrooms. Plenty of beds for all the kids. Kitchen well stocked with appliances, dishes and silverware. Driving up the mountain a wee bit adventuresome, but 2 wheel drive adequate. Sarah, our hostess, quickly answered all our questions. It's hard to find anything negative to say. We will all have wonderful memories for years to come.

Family Reunion

We spent several days at the beautiful Tanasi Lodge. It was a spectacular setting for our extended family of all ages. The inside was stunning, clean, and nicely decorated. The bedrooms were comfortable and inviting. The bathrooms were sparkling clean. Both kitchens were well supplied with a variety of cooking equipment and accessories. The inside sitting areas were spacious and we were able to socialize in large groups without feeling cramped or uncomfortable. The entertainment areas were a definite bonus. The views were magnificent. We could see sunrises and sunsets from inside and outside the cabin. The balconies provided opportunities to observe the outdoors as we gathered to just sit and talk. Sitting around the fire pit at night provided another fun place to gather for talking and roasting marshmallows. The cabin, the views, and everything were as close to perfect as possible. We would definitely return to this property!

Family vacation

Spent the week of July 4th at the Lodge. We had our first family vacation with all our kids and grandkids (26 people total). This lodge was amazing !! Not only was driving up and seeing the house and surroundings, but the inside as well. The space and bedrooms were perfect for our families. The bedrooms were all a great size as well as the attached bathrooms. Our grandkids loved the bunk room. It was plenty of space for all of them. Even the little ones (2 and 3) slept with their siblings and cousins in the room as they were excited to be able to be with the "big kids". We never felt like we were on top of each other and that we didn't have any private space. The downstairs with the games, movie room, and extra kitchen were a bonus. We spent a lot of time there and we made some of our best memories in that space and the house in general. The balconies were a favorite hang out spot for all. One of the things we were in awe of was that we could watch the sunrise AND sunset both from this lodge! Bonus - we saw a momma and baby bear. Both came up to the fence behind the lodge and ate some leaves and then left (extra bonus was watching momma bear climb over the fence and knock it down lol). Our kids and grandkids still talk about this vacation and how it was their best one ever! We LOVED this lodge. The owners were the easiest to communicate with and answered all our questions promptly. The lodge had everything we needed for our stay, we just had to buy some food.

Bad communication! Not handicapped accessible as listed! Worst host I've experienced!

Reserved lodge in January for a September stay. Spoke to owner regarding needs for our special needs young adult. Explained in detail our needs and requirements. Was assured all would be fine. Called again regarding the driveway (due to reviews) assured again we would be fine. Our converted wheelchair vehicle bottomed out on the drive, his chair was unable to get into the bedroom. No hand rails in the bath. A tree in the middle of the path to the door where our portable ramp was placed. No other doors accessible. Reached out to the property owner regarding an additional day of stay and reminder off our dog; acknowledged no charge. Was verbally told we could check in early and late since no one was before or after us. Called Cindy explained our driving travel plans had changed due to our special needs kids issues. (We drove overnight vs during day so he could sleep). Again no response from property owner. We arrived at 2AM woke up at 7am with several not so nice messages and phone calls regarding our early check in. Offered to pay for the “early check in” with no response from property owner. Contacted Cindy about the limited parking and recommendations of how we should park - no response. Called about the fallen tree blocking the driveway after the storm. No response. Called our caterers- they brought a chainsaw. Tubs - slimy crud from the jets. No mats, slippery and not all baths have handrails. No dishes located in the downstairs kitchen. Damages all throughout the property. Pictures posted are of when the property was brand new. Furniture is worn out, towels all old and some with large holes. Not what we expected!! Now let’s get to check out. Our last night on the property the owner decides we should pay for an additional day and the dog fee she hasn’t previously collected (with my reminder even!) 3 emails requesting my cc info (previously submitted with her personal contract outside of VRBO) I explain that I don’t have my laptop available and will settle up once I return home. We depart on Saturday morning at 7AM - 10 hour ride without stops or incidents. 4 emails demanding payment of our early check-in and dog fee. I’m literally driving home and this lady expects this?? Hello! You had 10 days to return calls/texts/emails while we were in your property, you wait until we are traveling home to request? Then turn me into VRBO for a past due amount?? Unable to pay as the attatched contract reflects different verbiage!! UGH!! Renter beware. :(

Please see below this guest arrived a day early on Tuesday night in the middle of the night with no warning OR APPROVAL from the owner. Their vrbo reservation was for Thursday arrival. I graciously gave the guest a free night which was Wednesday night. Our policy is very strict with a 4pm arrival. I do have a vmail from the guest sent which says they "may arrive earlier than 4pm on Wednesday" never stating that they plan TO ARRIVE A DAY EARLIER WITH NO NOTICE! This is actually stealing a night. We have ring cameras on all doors so we did document their arrival time. I think the guest thought we would not know when they arrived. Her pet fee was not added on her vrbo reservation so she said she would pay me directly which she has failed to do. VRBO is listing the guest as failing to pay what is due which is the only action they are allowed. Never in 14 years of renting the Lodge have I had a guest fraudulently arrive a day earlier than agreed up. Please see below. NOTICE FROM VRBO Additional payment 1 overdue 10/04/2021, 10:00 AM Payment request sent no pet fee paid Payment request $100.00 Due 09/24/2021 10/04/2021, 10:00 AM Payment request sent guest arrived 1 day early Payment request $1,184.00 Due 09/24/2021 UNFORTUNATELY almost everything the guest wrote in the review is completely untrue. HUGE PROBLEM CAUSED BY DAY EARLY ARRIVAL * We had worked all week to locate a septic tank in the back corner of the driveway. The driveway was completely trenched out 15 ft deep. Our schedule was for the men to return to backfill the trench, repair the driveway and put down rock Wednesday morning. ALSO at 8am Wed. we had scheduled the Septic to be pumped. The downstairs toilets, tubs, sinks, etc were out of use and would have backed up if the guests had used them. I did call the guests Wed am at 7:30 to 8am frantically asking for cars to be moved so that all the work could be completed as scheduled. IF they had arrived at 4pm on Wednesday as was their correct arrival time, all this work would have been completed Wed morning! First, the guest knew exactly the extent of the use of our lodge for a handicapped person. All her statements in the review are false. I discussed in detail with the guest during the planning process. *They were able to get the wheel chair in the ground floor of the lodge. *They were able to get the chair in the bedroom by moving the extra twin bed up against the wall which they didn't put back. * They were able to put the wheelchair ramp up the back steps. * The landscaped area which has a tree did NOT impact their ramp * I have a couple who manage the Lodge who responded to all of the guests requests. The management couple have also documented that all the guests' statements are false. I live in Alabama so I do not manage the lodge onsite. The couple responded to all the requests made by the guest. *The tree which fell across the road was from a neighboring property. My manager went up and removed the tree immediately when he was notified. * I repeatedly asked the guest to provide a credit card for the extra charges. This was not provided *There is no extra verbiage in the rental policy doc other than the request for the credit card information to use in lieu of a damage deposit. She didn't have to sign it, just provide the credit card information for the extra charges! * There are rubber mats in EVERY bath to use to prevent slipping. * When jacuzzi tubs are not used for a while there may be some black specs come out. When asked, I always tell the guest to simply run a good bit of water, use the jets to clear them out. then drain and refill. My managers would have gladly told the guest this if she had asked. * Furniture is NOT worn out, in fact there is a new sectional on the ground floor (4 months old) with a temprapedic queen mattress. All other sofas are leather. All linens are new and washed after every visit per COVID guidelines. *Downstairs bar area does have 2 coffee pots, all coffee cups, glasses wine glasses and plates are provided. All plates are to the right of the sink. The guests' statement is completely false. *Parking issues and suggestions were all discussed with the guest during our many conversations during the trip planning process. I DO HOPE that since this guest is now listed as failure to pay the amount due for arrival a day early without owner approval and failure to pay the additional guest fee requested, that VRBO will have a note by their name for future rental. I am very sorry this all occurred, and we have never had a situation like this. As the owner, I work very carefully with every guest to make sure they have a wonderful visit and create great memories. I have no worries that this will happen again, as all guests we have had to date for 14 years have been very honest and accommodating. Cindy Britt, Owner of Tanasi Lodge

We had a wonderful family time and the views were incredible. We were disappointed, however, in finding the slats/spindles on many of the porches, loose or unattached, which was a major concern because we had 3 two year-old children. We noticed the jets in the bathtubs were moldy, and that was a concern for bathing children. The designer gourmet kitchen was another surprise to find a four burner stove. Despite the issues we had a nice time,

Tanasi Lodge was a great choice for my large family. It offered spacious bedrooms( with comfortable beds btw) and great areas to gather as a group. Morning coffee was enjoyed on the porches while absorbing the amazing views! The road to the cabin was narrow but understand that is the way to unbelievable views. A great getaway and our host was great to address an AC problem quickly. Thanks Tanasi Lodge!

We are a husband-and-wife team and parents of three daughters who believe that time spent together is one of life's greatest gifts. Our family owns and personally cares for Tanasi Lodge, and we want every guest to feel genuinely welcomed.

Why they chose this property

Tanasi is unlike the typical large Smoky Mountain cabin. Sitting at the very top of Hatcher Mountain, it offers nearly 360-degree views, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and the peaceful feeling of being above it all. With room for 30 guests, eight king suites, generous gathering spaces, a private theater, commercial arcade, hot tub and firepit, it was created for families, friends and groups to reconnect comfortably.
