Nice place, matches the description

  • 5 of 5

The house is basically as described here. It is a log cabin, about half a mile away from the rest of the houses on the lake. We stayed there in November, so, unfortunately, did not get to canoe/swim in the lake as it was too cold. However, it was nice that the house had a ping-pong table (with paddles and balls) and a good quality foosball table in the basement. Inside the house we liked the large dining table, beautiful views of the lake, there is a functioning fireplace, and log walls are very cool and rustic. Beware, there are something like 10 stuffed animals all over the place, including a complete adult bear on the second floor! I would say one downside was the requirement to take all the garbage with you when you leave. Because the recommended local disposal site was closed on the day we were leaving (Sunday), we had to haul our garbage all the way back to New York City, which is probably not too efficient. Finally, the owner somehow responds to all emails in less than two minutes – I have no idea how that is possible, but that is certainly convenient.

Wonderful experience!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting.

Our arrival rousted a Bald Eagle from the shoreline! The secluded location of the home made our stay so nice. Last two days we saw a Great Blue Heron flying low over the lake. Heard coyotes and owls among others.

We had much use of the pedal boat, the canoe and a kayak, and at night a fire, ping pong and foosball.

The beautiful weather we had, made the night sky incredible. Waking up before dawn our first night, through the huge windows of the loft, I saw a spectacularly thin and backlit crescent moon, with Venus below. Very low in the sky and reflected in the lake, it was truly a sight I will never forget.

Every one of us loved the house, the lake, the setting and wants to return.

Thank you Darek!

wonderful, with many amenities

  • 5 of 5

My family visited this fantastic home in late august, 2017. The four of us have had great experiences camping in the vicinity, and decided to "kick it up a notch". This we did. The home had room to house far more people, and we were constantly impressed with the thoughtful amenities Darak and family thought of.

The kayak and peddle boat are one thing, but PFD's and fishing poles (although we brought our own) are another. There was also a full complement of sporting equipment to take advantage of the awesome yard, which includes a volley/badminton court.

We were surprised to find nice clean towels in the spotless bathrooms, and cooking in the nice kitchen and awesome outdoor grill (electric ignition worked!) was a pleasure.

We plan to return to this great spot on the planet-

Great spot

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful, well-maintained house on a nice piece of property. Lake is nicer than it may appear in the pictures. Darek, the owner, was kind and easy to deal with. Watching the sunrise over the lake is a great way to start the day. Will be trying to get back in the future.

Best location on the lake!! What a wonderful weekend!

  • 5 of 5

We took a trip for a weekend from NYC and absolutely loved staying at Darek's family home. We spent most of the weekend swimming in the lake, enjoying the lawn leading down to the lake, and the badminton/volleyball court. Best of all were the kayaks and pedal boat (the babies loved getting a ride on this!). We even caught a couple of fish. Thanks Darek for a wonderful weekend at this gorgeous secluded property. Darek even offered to help return a couple of raincoats we brought up and forgot in the closet as we didn't need them. All in all a great experience and highly recommended.
