The Space:

A quiet forest settles around you as evening light filters through the trees, the air crisp and still. Inside, a woodburning fireplace flickers to life, filling the cabin with gentle warmth while the surrounding woods create a sense of calm and seclusion. You can hear the soft rustle of leaves and feel the mountain air on the deck as the sun dips behind the canopy. Each day unfolds slowly, inviting you to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Sleeping Arrangements

The cabin sleeps up to four guests across two bedrooms. On the main level, the primary bedroom offers a king bed for restful nights. Upstairs, an open loft holds a queen bed, perfect for family members or close friends who are comfortable sharing the space.

Living Space

An open‑plan living area centers on the indoor woodburning fireplace, making it a natural gathering spot for quiet conversations, board games, or a movie on the Smart TV. Large windows frame the forest from nearly every room, letting soft daylight spill in during winter afternoons. Heating and air conditioning keep the interior comfortable year‑round, while WiFi lets you stream or stay lightly connected, though service may vary in this remote mountain setting.

Kitchen & Dining

The fully equipped kitchen provides everything you need to prepare meals, with ample counter space and a dining table nearby for easy flow between cooking and eating. A washer and dryer, bathroom essentials, and free on‑site parking add convenience for longer stays.

Outdoor Living

Step onto the spacious deck, where string lights add a soft glow in the early evenings. A fire pit offers another gathering place, especially appealing on chilly nights when the stars peek through bare branches. The deck also includes a BBQ grill and outdoor seating, and the surrounding acre of woods invites leisurely walks and quiet reflection.

Conveniences & Comforts

Dog‑friendly policies let your pet join you in this peaceful setting. The cabin’s thoughtful touches—board games, heating, air conditioning, and a dedicated workspace—support a relaxed, unhurried stay.

The Area

Located in Gerrardstown, the cabin is a short drive from historic sites, antique shops, and the small‑town charm of the surrounding area. Hiking trails, parks, and fishing spots are within easy reach, while Martinsburg offers additional dining, shopping, and local attractions a bit farther down the road.

Perfect For

Couples, small families, or small groups seeking a peaceful retreat will appreciate the quiet mornings, fireside evenings, and nearby outdoor adventures. Whether you’re drawn to the rhythm of the season or simply want to slow down, this forest cabin provides a simple, comforting base for your getaway.

No pet, several items needed repair. No extra blankets or quilts. Heat wasn't working. Manager communicated well. Finally moved to different rental.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

What makes this property unique

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
