We loved our stay here! The cottage is cosy, charming, and thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable visit. Set in a peaceful, scenic location, it gave us a real sense of Skye. Having a general store and café just down the road was an added bonus. We left wishing we'd booked a longer stay and would happily return.
Excellent views of the entire Glendale valley region. Relatively private as well, being down its own farm road. 10 minute walk to the ocean, 20 minute walk to the village. The cottage was lovely, and 2 wood fireplaces made it feel so cozy. Very well taken care of, and towels, cooking utensils, and kindling were provided. Would absolutely stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay at this charming 2 bedroom ensuite cottage in Glendale. It presented exactly as listed. The property was spotlessly clean and clearly well cared for, which made settling in incredibly easy and comfortable.
The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and the bathrooms were immaculate. An informative book was left on the kitchen table that answered any questions we may have had regarding the home and the surrounding area. The cottage is a short distance from a gorgeous lighthouse, walking distance to a beach, the general store, a cafe and nicely situated for driving and discovering all that the Isle of Skye had to offer.
One of the highlights was waking up each morning to the peaceful sounds of sheep grazing in the nearby fields it added to the authentic countryside experience.
We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage on the Isle of Skye. It honestly felt like stepping into something out of Jane Eyre or Wuthering Heights, which made the whole experience pretty special. One of the best parts was how remote it was. It felt like we had the place to ourselves. When the weather was nice, we loved sitting outside and watching the sheep grazing. And when it wasn’t nice, it was just as enjoyable looking out the windows over the windy, rain-swept landscape. The cottage itself was very comfortable. The beds were great! I usually have back issues when I travel, but I had no problems here at all. I also really enjoyed curling up under the comforter with a book while the weather stormed outside. It was super cozy.Everything inside was nicely done, especially the wood floors and overall feel of the place. The heating worked well upstairs, and my husband was able to use the living room as a workspace and keep it warm with the space heater. The owner left cookies and Starbucks coffee for us, which was a nice touch. We don’t drink coffee, but the cookies were definitely appreciated. Overall, we had a great stay. If we ever make it back to the Isle of Skye, we’d absolutely stay here again.
We loved the remote, tranquil location. Well positioned to visit Neist Lighthouse, Dunvegan, Skye Weavers and to enjoy an exceptional dinner at Three Chimneys. Cafe Lephin also is a very cool spot with a great playlist and makes for a nice mid-morning or afternoon spot for coffee, tea and scones. The general store is surprisingly well stocked! The house is nicely updated and the space was terrific for us traveling with our young adult son. Getting there: Don't follow Google maps, it brings you in on a road that runs up the hill well behind the house with no access. Beach Road isnt labeled but make the right turn ar Hararra Lodge and head up the hill. Hopefully the internet will be up and running for the next visitors.
