This was the nicest Vrbo that we have ever stayed. It's so tastefully decorated as well. We absolutely loved this place. I did want to say that we arrived to the place and there was a sweet note and some goodies that we really appreciated. We can't wait to return and Suzanne is super responsive if you ever have any questions. Can't wait to return.

Suzanne truly went far and beyond! A welcome basket, stocked refrigerator and recommendations of local restaurants to name a few. Also frequent texts to verify our needs. The home is high quality down to the utensils. A convenient location to Ketchum and Hailey and incredible views just outside our doorstep including a herd of Elk. We cannot over emphasize the details that were afforded to our visit. 5 Stars!!!

This property is a true treasure. We have stayed in numerous short-term rentals in various states and countries, but none with the level of architectural detail or quality workmanship as this property. We have stayed in short-term rentals in the Ketchum / Sun Valley area many times and this property is our favorite by far. The hosts were very gracious and responsive and provided us with a generous welcoming package. The property is located in a quiet, wooded area offering privacy in a beautiful setting. We had an incredible stay at the Bigwood River Retreat. Suzanne was a phenomenal communicator from the start, answering all of our questions and offering some great hiking, activity, and dining suggestions. Walking into the home was like stepping into an Architectural Digest article crossed with a Crate & Barrel / RH catalog... stunning, yet warm and cozy. On top of that, there was a thoughtful note and a wonderful basket of snacks and treats to make our stay even more special. We most enjoyed sitting outside on the back patio surrounded by the beautiful aspen trees. We also fly-fished in the stream every day after hiking, enjoying the cool water on our tired feet and legs. On our last evening, we looked out the front window to see a herd of about 20 elk, including some young ones, grazing in the front yard! We are already looking forward to our next visit and stay at Bigwood River Retreat!

Our family has been in the Wood River Valley for fifty years, enjoying all it has to offer. We feel so lucky to call the Ketchum/Sun Valley home, and love helping others experience the magic of this mountain paradise. Our family loves to travel, and we have high expectations of what accommodations should be when enjoying hard-earned vacation days. We have thoughtfully designed our guesthouse to be a true sanctuary.

Why they chose this property

Gimlet is a highly sought-after community of homes that have expansive and beautiful acreage. The neighborhood is home to a large elk herd that can often be seen wandering through both fields and yards. With direct access to the Valley's bike bath and Highway 75, Gimlet has easy access to everything Ketchum and Sun Valley have to offer while also providing luxurious privacy.

What makes this property unique

We are situated on five acres of riverfront property with private access to some of the Valley's best fly fishing. The property has incredible views in all directions, and the local elk herd can often be found in the field outside the bedroom windows. In addition, you are only 1/4 mile from the local bike path and 5-7 min. from the town of Ketchum and the base of Baldy. What more could you ask for?
