About Leah Latifzai

We are a couple who live in Houston, TX. We both are outdoorsy and love the mountains. Hence, we decided to make Breckenridge our home away from home!

Leah Latifzai purchased this house in 2012

Why Leah Latifzai chose Northwest

We looked at many homes, however, one glance at the view of the mountains made us fall in love. You have views from the living room, deck, kitchen, and the two master bedrooms. We just could not beat the view.

Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here at the Typsy Bear home in Breckenridge in Oct 7 - 11th, 2016. This house was wonderful and the weather was perfect. We had 13 people fly in from all over the country, to be together to celebrate my dad who just turned 86. We all had a very nice time and even saw a female Moose walking around and eating the grass near the house. We cooked a tradition Turkey dinner and celebrated an early Thanksgiving all together. What a special blessing for us all to be together. I would recommend this rental to all. Thank You.

Beautiful house with tiny house guests

  • 2 of 5

We rented the house to accommodate our family visiting for our wedding. The house was beautiful but there were some unwanted visitors during our stay. Besides the broken fold out couch the only real complaint would be the mice that found their way into the house. For the amount of money spent on a rental you would expect mice not to be an issue. I understand we are in the mountains but I suggest bring your own mouse traps or don't wake up early! Maybe then you wont encounter these unwanted house guests running around in the kitchen or climbing on your luggage. My family was disgusted and don't have a desire to rent another house like this again.

I highly recommend checking to make sure everything works properly, food is properly stored away, luggage is not on the floor and address any issues immediately to management.

Owner's Response: Hi Deanna, I'm so sorry you didn't have an optimal stay! We really wished you had contacted us right away with any issues opposed to letting us know a month later. Any time guests have issues we really try our best to right any situation. We had no idea the fold out couch was broken. We could have tried to get our handyman out there to temporarily fix it. Since we have found out we did buy a new pull out couch. As for the unwanted critters I was very shocked to hear this. You mentioned that is was the last day of your stay you saw them. I'm really hope this was a fluke. Just prior to your stay we were up here for a whole week and never saw any indication of this. I've also contacted a few guests after your stay and no signs. I take this seriously. We had someone come out and inspect but saw no indication that mice were living in the house. We are here right now and I purposely got up early (since you said it was like 4 am where you saw them) and nothing. We are definitely continuing to monitor this situation.

Beautiful views and home

  • 5 of 5

We had our joint bachelor/bachelorette party here and had an amazing time. The views are beautiful and there's a hiking trail right out the back of the property that is not too bad for those that aren't avid hikers. There was plenty of room and entertainment for the 11 of us that stayed. We would highly recommend this place for booking!

Perfect House for a large group

  • 5 of 5

Almost hate to write the glowing review this house deserves because I hate to spoil this well kept secret!

My family of nine adults and four toddlers ( 2 three years and two one year) had a fabulous stay at Tipsy Bear. Two of my son in laws are very tall and the two king bedrooms were very welcome. All the bedrooms were very comfortable: 6 bedrooms spread between 3 floors, there was plenty of space to get away from the craziness when needed. The babies loved the hot tub on the few days it rained and the adults used the pool table and enjoyed long evenings over cards in the kitchen/dining area.

The kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of everything needed to cook and serve. Leah was very communicative, asking if a serviceman would be intruding if he came to check a few appliances which was fine by us. The hot tub guys come out every few days, but take literally minutes.

The view is stunning- we gathered on the deck every evening to watch the sun go down over the mountains. There are electric blinds which lower or raise at the push of a button to shield the living room from the afternoon rays. Tip: If you open the first floor door and the second floor patio door in the afternoons, it creates a nice draft to cool the living room.

We took the path a few times that starts right outside the backdoor several times. Our two three year olds loved to go looking for fairies! Never made it to the very end, but it is beautiful.

The driveway is VERY steep- we all used the parking breaks. The house is not baby-proofed: we moved all the furniture away from the railing in the Living Room to keep the kids from climbing and blocked the stairwells with furniture. I would suggest bringing 3 baby gates along if you have kids who are not stairs-certified. We also gathered the impressive collection of games that are stored under the massive coffee table and put them in the laundry room for safekeeping. The deck is also not safe for babies: we lined up all the chairs along the edges of the deck, kept a watchful eye and that worked for us.

There were plenty of towels, shampoo, body soap and hot water in the three baths (one on each floor).

Definitely a favorite spot for us now!!!! Thanks Tipsy Bear for all the memories!

Another wonderful stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at the Tipsy Bear. Our whole family (14 of us) all agreed it is the most accommodating VRBO rental we have stayed at.

Leah is an absolute gem to work with and responded quickly and graciously to all of our inquiries from booking to check out.

The house is in a beautiful location, close to everything but far enough away. The view, at all times of the day and night, is stunning! The home is well maintained and clean and provides a great workout (lots of stairs)!

The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare your meals and the grill was an added bonus. We all spent time together preparing meals, doing cleanup and discovering new kitchen gadgets :)

I would and have recommended this home to others. The price is so reasonable for all the amenities you receive. Thank you for making our family get together the best it could be!
