Le confort et la sérénité sont bien vivants chez Sweet Shirl. Cette spacieuse maison de 5 chambres et 5 salles de bain est située sur le front du son à l'extrémité nord de la plage de Wrightsville. Entrez et trouvez un grand plan d'étage ouvert qui offre beaucoup d'espace pour toute la famille. La cuisine, la salle à manger et le salon offrent tous une vue sur le magnifique marais et sur le son et constituent un espace idéal pour les divertissements en famille. Sortez par la porte arrière et sur le pont spacieux avec beaucoup de soleil, des vues et un endroit idéal pour regarder des couchers de soleil incroyables. Également situé au premier étage se trouve une grande suite parentale avec un lit king size et un accès au pont avant. Montez les escaliers et trouvez la grande chambre des maîtres. Cette chambre à coucher offre un lit king size, une grande salle de bain et un accès privé à une terrasse avant saine. Les chambres 3,4 et 5 sont également des suites maîtres et offrent 2 lits queen, 2 lits jumeaux et 1 futon en taille réelle. Une table de ping-pong est située au rez-de-chaussée près du garage. Vous voulez faire un peu de crabe, de kayak ou de planche à pagaie? Puis sortez sur le ponton privé et la jetée avec accès à un ruisseau de marée sur le son. Great location, needs a facelift

We enjoyed the beautiful view from this house. The pool was clean and refreshing. Our disappointment revolved around the worn and dated furniture, especially the bedding. The mattresses were comfortable but the bedspreads, pillows and mattress covers are old. Some were stained. One pillow was covered in hair and the pillowcase had a tear.The kitchen was clean but shows a lot of wear and tear in the sink and countertop. The grill was so filthy that it was unusable. The washer, dryer and dishwasher are old and very loud. Someone left a half-full cocktail at the pool and the furniture was moved around like there had been a recent party. One of the plastic rockers was cracked at the connection points for both arms. There is major water damage to the ceiling in the main level bedroom and the furniture in that room has surface damage due to putting down a drink without using a coaster. This look does not fit the proThere was an ironing board but we could not find an iron. The leasing office was quick to bring us a new one.All in all it was a nice stay in this house but I expected a much more updated interior considering the price we paid for the week.

Great Location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Wrightsville for almost 20 years. We love being on the sound side as we bring our own paddleboards to enjoy the sunsets. Kids loved the pool and convenient beach access. The dock needs to be tended to - and it dumps you into the marsh - even at high tide and two step had missing boards- making it cumbersome for the paddleboards. Plenty of space for the family - also wish there were a few more cooking amenities (i.e measuring cups as grandma wants to cook more!). Lots of random bedding in the home which could be removed - or folks may have enjoyed options if they were cold? Seemed like they could have cleaned it up a bit. We reserved again for next year which says a lot! No home is perfect and we can't wait to return. Love the basement ping pong table as well. Great use of the basement space.

The pool was really fun for the kids and the dock to the sound was perfect for kayaking. A couple cons: 1. The house does not sleep 12. It’s really 10. The roll away bed and futon should not be listed as adequate beds. We were pushed being a large family for sleeping space. 2 No chairs on the upper deck. We had to use our own beach chairs. 3. Dirty kitchen utensils and drawers, no wine glasses. 4. Beach access wasn’t as close as mentioned in the listing. Overall, we had a nice stay.

Fabulous House

This house was roomy enough to accommodate our 10 member family ranging from 7 years to 81 years. We never felt crowded. The deck was wonderful for watching wildlife in the sound and sunsets although it definitely needed more chairs. Luckily we brought our own! The pier and decking was great!! The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms spacious. The kitchen was a nice layout however the cookware and eating utensils were sorely lacking!! This should become a priority before next season!! Overall the vacation experience was great and we will return next year with plenty of plastic utensils in tow!!

Towels and linens were waiting for us. Had a problem with several faucets, one in the kitchen and one in a bathroom. They were replaced by the rental company on Monday. Main microware was not working for that week. Kitchen needs some updating and mattresses in the two large rooms(King size beds) need to be replaced. Also need some new chairs on the main deck. Oveerall, we enjoyed our stay that week in June.

The marsh views and sunsets are amazing. We rented kayaks and standup paddleboard‘s and a great use of them. The beach access is a five minute walk. And the house came with lots of amenities. Same time the kitchen needs a complete overhaul. Appliances that don’t work. Pots and pans that need to be thrown away. Cabinets that need a deep cleaning. An oven that was so dirty we couldn’t even use it and he last night—a problem when it’s COVID and you aren’t going out at all.

Privacy may become an issue because downstairs rooms don’t have blinds/curtains 3. One of the upstairs door can’t be locked or is broken

Reviewer Comments: Bottom line: We absolutely LOVED our stay at Sweet Shirl!! Our rental was from Wednesday to Sunday, and after only a few hours at the house we called Wrightsville Sands Realty and asked if we could extend another day. Lucky for us the house was available and we were able to stay until Monday. Perfect location for walking to uncrowded section of beach, beautiful back decks to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Sound, and the house... so open, clean and comfortable. We had 3 couples and 3 single adults and never felt in one another's way. Would definitely stay here again without any hesitation.

Only suggestion would be to replace the furniture on the back deck. Out of the 4 rocking chairs two were broken, one could not be used. Grill would not work and there were nothing to clean the grates with. Place was clean and management was very efficent.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: WE have stayed at Sweet Shirl the past 4 years and love the location and easy access to the beach. This year the cottage was recently painted, updating the inside. A couch upstairs was replaced by a futon, which is extremely hard and useless for sleeping or even sitting on for that matter. The oven smoked horribly when we tried to use it so I had to clean it before proceeding. Ditto the grill. The kitchen needs the plates and silverware replenished and some new pots and pans would be nice. We return to Sweet Shirl each year because it is lovely and wonderfully situated on the North End. The few minor inconveniences do not negate all the positive pluses of this rental.

The kitchen is well stocked as we love to cook! We rented kayaks for several days and launched from our dock. We will return to rent this home again.

Nice house

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our trip was very nice. The house had two very large bedrooms and bathrooms. All other bedrooms and bathrooms were normal size. The downstairs interior had recently been painted grey instead of the green that shows in the pictures. Also, there were no sleeper sofas but we had 2 blow up mattresses. I felt the kitchen was adequately stocked, though we did no cooking. There is very large storage under the house along with the 3 car garage. View out the back is beautiful. House was great but disappointed in the fact that early check in was $50 per hour. We stayed in the middle of winter and no one was in the house prior but we waited till check in. Rental agency did call and say the house was ready early and I mentioned we did not want to pay the extra. We were still not offered the courtesy of checking in without charge.

Lovely, large house that needs some updating and attention

Reviewer Comments: Wonderful large rooms with lots of light and open space, perfect for a large crowd. bedrooms were great with comfortable beds. But we were VERY disappointed with the kitchen. There were no basics - starter dish washing liquid, powder, coffee filters, absolutely nothing other than a roll of paper towels. Can opener hardly worked. Barely any cooking utensils that a cook would use. It is obvious that no cook owns or stays here. Everyone kept tripping on the cheap throw rugs. And the chairs to the second table were being recovered so half of our dinner guests had nowhere but the couch to sit! (The picture on line shows the chairs in use and was part of why we rented the place.) Back stairs had green mold all over them and the deck/walkway were in need of maintenance. The place needs updating so that it is the prime place that it's location and presence reflect that it can be.
