Very sketchy neighborhood, including smashed liquor bottles at the foot of the porch steps. The online photos of the interior are very misleading. Unit is old, poorly renovated and bare bones furnishings. We quickly discovered the place had not been cleaned since the last occupancy … dusty furniture, stagnant water in the bathroom sink which had an inoperable drain, and dirty sheets on the bed with undeniable evidence too gross to mention. There was also a very noticeable stench of marijuana inside and outside the unit. I immediately contacted the host who was very responsive and apologetic, stating his cleaning crew had confirmed the unit was properly cleaned and prepared for our stay. He assured me a full refund would be issued. We spent nearly two hours trying to find a hotel room due to multiple events happening in the area. We ended up at three different hotels during our stay. VRBO C/S was very responsive to my calls, but ultimately unhelpful other than confirming the refund. Our weekend was ruined because we had so much difficulty finding alternative accommodations, which ended up doubling the cost of our stay.
