Estudio recientemente renovado, con cuarto de baño, cocina totalmente equipada con barra de desayuno. Conservando sus gruesos muros de piedra originales, todas las construcciones internas y servicios nuevos. Afuera: Casi un acre de terreno. Árboles maduros, setos y bordes. El patio en la parte delantera de la casa rural está cubierto por una terraza. Se proporcionan una mesa y sillas para relajarse a la sombra y disfrutar de una cena al aire libre, mientras contempla las enredaderas y los árboles de ciruela. También tenemos una barbacoa para su uso, en su propio jardín privado. Hermosa piscina adyacente a la casa rural, con tumbonas y una sombrilla, también hay dos hamacas para que pueda relajarse y absorber la paz y las vistas. Entrada privada y zona de aparcamiento propia. Escapada romántica perfecta para dos, pacífica, pintoresca y tranquila.
A 10 minutos de Duras en coche y a 2 km de St Sernin con un bar y una tienda, la popular ciudad Bastide de Eymet está a 20 minutos en coche. Hay una playa a 20 minutos, a orillas del río Dordoña en St. Foy la Grande, con piragüismo, kayak y natación. El aeropuerto de Bergerac está a 35 minutos, el coche es esencial, sin embargo, hay taxis locales disponibles. Vivimos en el lugar y estamos encantados de ayudarle con cualquier cosa que pueda necesitar. El aeropuerto de Burdeos está a 75 minutos y la ciudad de Burdeos en coche está a 60 minutos.

Only two things prevent us giving 5*s: the tiny sink in the bathroom meant it was impossible to clean your teeth without spitting on the floor. It was also really cold in the studio. We were offered a calor gas heater which we used and it was really efficient but we had to pay an extra 6 euros a day for it.

thank you for your review, we do not actually advertise the gite to have heating, so this was an extra we thought we would offer as you said you were cold, we didn't actually use any heating for other guests in October, as the weather was so glorious! So much so, you managed to still swim in the pool! I haven't noticed anybody else, apart from yourselves spitting on the floor instead of the sink, however for next season, we will move the shelf, to give people more head space to rinse their mouths. thank you for appreciating the wonderful views.

An outstanding holiday amongst the vines

we were looking for a gite in a special location to holiday with our dogs, and that is exactly what we got and more!! La Porcherie is situated amogst the vines, with amazing views, and in a very special village. Our hosts Trisha and Andy were amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay special, even when we got lost on several occasions!! These are 2 very special people!!! La Porcherie was immaculately presented. Fabulous gite, with everything that you need. The secure garden for the dogs was brilliant, and the dogs loved being out there. We can recommend this place enough, and will definitely be back, "we came as guests but left as friends". La Porcherie and Trish and Andy have a special place in our hearts. Thank you so much for having us!!

Great location among the vines

This is a nicely done cute little barn conversion. The building was originally a pig shed! The English owners live in the adjoining farmhouse and they could not have been more welcoming and helpful. This small studio is Ideal for a short break with dogs because the small garden allocated to the barn has a wire mesh fence surround proving peace of mind that they won't escape! The pool in the owner's part of the garden is well maintained and delightful with a fabulous view over the adjacent vineyards. The kitchenette is fine for cooking up breakfast and snacks but not ideal if you are wanting to cook much more. There is very little storage space anywhere! The shower is good with plenty of hot water but the wash basin is tiny - really only meant for hand washing and maybe teeth cleaning. So we used the kitchen sink! The bed is good and has a firm mattress. We enjoyed our stay - the pool and the peace and quiet - and there's an excellent restaurant nearby in the village!

Thank you for your kind words, just to pick up on a few points.. Our property is NOT adjoining the studio gite, it is in fact behind the gite, not joined in any way. The property was indeed a “piggery” which is why it’s called La Porcherie! The gite is 36sqm in total , and we designed everything with this in mind, the kitchen has a full size oven, hob and a microwave, so for a studio I think this is totally adequate. We have taken on board kitchen storage and over the winter when we decorate will think for a solution. Storage for the rest of the gite, I think is excellent, with a wardrobe, 6 drawers , under the bed storage, a chest, and a bathroom cupboard. Yes the sink is small in the bathroom, you are correct it is suitable for washing hands and cleaning teeth! That’s exactly what it is for. Clothes washing can either be done in the kitchen sink, or indeed there’s a washing machine available for a small charge .we are delighted you enjoyed the peace and tranquillity and privacy that the gite offers, having the fenced garden allows any pets to stay safe in the garden, whilst not compromising on the excellent views over the vineyards and plum orchards . Once again thank you for choosing to stay at La Porcherie

Studio au milieu des vignes, lumineux, très confortable et décoré avec goût ... les propriétaires et leurs compagnons à quatre pattes sont très discrets. Le plus la piscine â disposition , le moins la communication est un peux compliqué si vous ne parlez pas anglais .

Perfect gite in beautiful surroundings

On arrival we were warmly greeted by Andy and Trish who showed us around their stunning gite and swimming pool. Having arrived on a Sunday we were greeted with local wine, Camembert cheese, bread and Trish's homemade jam. This we enjoyed whilst sitting on our private terrace overlooking the vineyards and plum trees. Trish and Andy were perfect hosts and we look forward to returning!

Romantic clean tasteful comfortable and a great location.

Andy and Tricia were incredible hosts They had filled the gite with everything you would ever need. Thoughtful touches like milk bread butter cheese and a bottle of wine. The bed was comfortable like the pillows. The swimming pool was great. Nothing was to much trouble and our hosts were only to glad to give their knowledge about the local area. Thank you so much for a great stay.

We are both originally from Surrey , however prior to our move here, we had lived for 17 years in another beautiful part of the world, Selsey in West Sussex. We love animals, being sociable and definitely enjoying all the benefits to a rural life in France!

When I saw this property, I cried! It was just what we were looking for, peaceful, not too far from village life, restaurants, bars etc, but had that WOW factor, when our 24 year old son first saw the property, his first words were indeed” wow, I know why you moved here!” Which for me, was just the reaction I had hoped for, we now are up and ready, to share this with others! Who will arrive as guests, but I hope to leave as friends who will visit again!
