Rack 'em up for a spirited game of pool in the living area of this elegantly appointed gem with its vaulted ceilings and cheery pastel walls, adorned with colorful, quirky artworks. Sink into the soft leather furniture and be captivated by the ocean view. Or, slip through the French doors into the adjacent family room where you can enjoy a DVD or watch a cable show, warmed by the glow of the woodstove (firewood not provided). Plenty of private places where you can escape with a book or your laptop (free WiFi throughout), as well as spaces to congregate and regale each other with tales of the day's adventures in scenic Yachats! Rock and fossil enthusiasts will relish the museum quality specimens on display in this lovely home.

This incredible home has four bedrooms and room for up to 12 guests. (Two doggies are welcome.) Two of the bedrooms - one, the master - are on the main level. A night of peaceful slumber awaits you in the master bedroom, complete with a king-size Tempur-Pedic mattress and a skylight that will welcome you in the morning with sunlight. Read a little before bed in the wicker chair. Beautiful tile work surrounds you in the master bath, complete with walk-in shower, tub, and wraparound counter. Room for four more in the second bedroom, also on this level, where you'll find another king bed and a twin trundle.

There are two more bedrooms on the lower level. One - including a comfy queen bed piled with soft linens and pillows - is near another nicely appointed full bath with a combo tub and shower. Relax in the lower living area where more guests can bed down on an American Leather sleeper sofa, and a twin trundle bed. There's another flat screen TV with DVD and a large laundry room down here as well And, you can step out on the lower deck and enjoy that same wonderful view available upstairs, or slip out into the wooded yard and make your way to the private beach beyond. An additional half-bath will make your stay even more comfortable and convenient!

Your cook's eyes will widen at the sight of this gorgeous, fully equipped kitchen. Modern, stainless steel appliances - including a stove, microwave, and double fridge with icemaker - are encased among handsome crafted cabinets, affording maximum space to move about, and maximum elegance with beautiful granite countertops and tile floors. And, while you're slicing, dicing, and boiling, there it is: that amazing view that will dazzle you from everywhere in the house! Serve it up in the adjacent dining area on the long, elegant table with room for ten. Four more guests can belly-up at the granite island on four stools. There's an outdoor fireplace/firepit as well where you can gather under the starry, Yachats night sky.

Experience the abundance and diversity on Oregon's 804 trail, just a short trek from this lovely home, that will take you along a shoreline filled with crashing waves, intermittent sandy beaches, and tidepools teeming with exotic creatures. Frommer's reputed travel guide ranks little Yachats number seven out of ten top world destinations! No surprise. Tucked, as it is, between expansive forest to the east where you can hike, bike, and fish and kayak on the Yachats River and the Pacific Ocean where you can, if you're lucky, watch whales breach. There are all sorts of seasonal and routine events like walking tours, big band concerts on the first Thursday of each month, and yoga, dance, and zumba classes. Each month has something different, from Native American art fairs, to book sales, to concerts by the Oregon Coast Chamber Orchestra.

About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s familys summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a websitecould be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this homeour team is standing by!

Great Getaway

 • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed our stay here over Labor Day Weekend! There were 10 of us and everyone was able to (mostly) find their own space. The house looks like it could use some small repairs here and there, but it was great to find a house that would allow dogs right in town! We loved the private yard and beach below.

Spacious, private, nice location.

 • 3 of 5

Let me start with the good. The house was very roomy. Lots of comfortable seating. The beds were very comfortable as well. We really enjoyed the pool table and game room. Lots of fun for the whole family. The walk to town was convenient and we ate at the Luna Sea many times. Yum! Try the salmon and chips. The private setting and walk through the yard down to the little river beach were lovely. The use of the small boat was fun!

Now the not so good. The carpets were stained. The downstairs had a faint dog pee smell. The upstairs porch is sketchy feeling. I think it's time to replace it. Speaking of the porch, we had to completely ban the use of it from anyone in our group for the entire stay after the toddler nearly fell through the railing. One of the wooden rails had come loose and it was a very dangerous situation. Needless to say, this put a damper on our trip. When I contacted Vacasa, they said they'd send out a guy, but we never heard from anyone and it was never fixed during our 5 day stay.

I have been bringing my family to the coast for our annual summer vacation for the last 18 years. We have stayed in many rental houses over the years, so I have much to compare this house to. I think it's fairly overpriced for what it really is. It's a 3 bedroom house, not 4, and it's not ocean front either. We won't be back to this one.

Vacasa: A heartless business all about the bottom line

 • 4 of 5

My fiancé and I booked this beautiful vacation home 2 weeks before we planned to surprise our family and get married in Yachats while on a family vacation on the Oregon Coast. We had some trouble with Vacasa claiming this was a 4 bedroom, when in fact it is a 3 BR, and clearly not changing the listing or cost to reflect reality. Nevertheless, we were very excited about our last minute plans coming together with local businesses, getting married on Cape Perpetua, and making memories with our immediate family in this beautiful home. Unfortunately 3 days before our wedding, our nephew sustained a traumatic brain injury requiring him to be flown to Portland, placed in a coma, and undergo multiple brain surgeries. Words cannot express how devastated and traumatized our family was at this time. My fiancé and I could not imagine getting married under these sad circumstances, so we called Ona's Restaurant, Bread and Roses Bakery, Forks Farms Florist, and Shannon Mae Photography to cancel our wedding. All of these wonderful local businesses understood our predicament and allowed us to cancel without penalty. To our frustration, anger, and sadness Vacasa did not. I will disclose that we did not pay for trip insurance because of the closeness of our event. Trip insurance always seemed more like a money making scheme, which helped few and punished those with bad luck (and boy did we feel that bad luck). It seems that any honest company could expect such chaos in doing business, and plan for it in their bottom line. When we called Vacasa to explain our situation, we stated we did not want to cancel our reservation, but rather move it to a happier time. We even offered to pay a rebooking fee to help out. Vacasa however said this would not be possible and we had to either use or lose our money. What troubled me during this whole process was knowing that the owner of this beautiful home (Jan) was never made aware of our predicament, and therefore was unable to be a part of this decision making or bring any human heart to our family's bad fortune. The ironic thing about our story is the fact that Vacasa lost the potential to have a dedicated future customer. Our family plans a yearly vacation to the Oregon coast, and my fiancé and I had hoped to make Yachats a future pilgrimage for our anniversary. If this company had only had the foresight to see this, and provide compassion to a hurting family, it would have won us over for a lifetime and guaranteed business to this Yachats owner and more for summers to come. We will never rent with Vacasa or VRBO again, and plan to only use local vacation renters who aren't heartlessly counting the bottom line.

Vacasa: A Heartless and Bottom-line Focused Company

 • 1 of 5

My fiancé and I booked this place and two others 2 weeks before we planned to surprise our families by eloping in Yachats during our annual family reunion. We were very excited and were looking forward to sharing this beautiful space with our families. Two days before our stay in Yachats, our nephew sustained a traumatic head injury requiring him to be flown to a trauma center, placed in a coma, and undergo multiple brain surgeries. Our families were traumatized and devastated by this freak accident, and my fiancé and I were too distraught to even imagine getting married in three days. So heartbroken, we called the florist, baker, photographer, and caterer to cancel our wedding. ALL were understanding and did not penalize us in our time of crisis. However, when we called Vacasa to try to rebook, not to cancel, our wedding trip we did not receive any such sympathy or flexibility. We offered to pay a penalty fee and rebooking fees to change our rental dates, but Vacasa said we either had to use or lose our rentals. In such a time of sadness and devastation, this heartlessness just added to our loss. I will disclose that we did not buy trip protection for our rentals because of the short-notice of our plans for our trip. Reflecting on the nature of trip protection, it seems like a money-making scheme that ends up helping few and punishing a majority in a time of crisis. It would seem that any company could anticipate such freakish life events and account for it in doing honest business. What irritated me more was knowing that the owner of this beautiful home in Yachats was never made aware of our situation, and thus never had a chance to bring some heart and understanding to our crisis. In the end we saw just how ruthless, near-sighted, and bottom-lined Vacasa is. The irony is, Vacasa had the opportunity to capture a family's heart and loyalty for years to come. Our family organizes yearly reunions to the Oregon coast, and we had hoped to make Yachats and this rental property an anniversary tradition for years to come. Vacasa guaranteed that we will never rent from them again.

Do not Post

I won't review - finding a dead mouse is not a typical representation of this home as we have stayed there before. Please get in there and fix it though!!?? We did throw the dead mouse away - but the droppings are all yours. :)

Yachat's beach house

 • 4 of 5

Overall the stay was good. The registration process leaves a great amount to be desired.

The house was very good. There was enough space for everybody to have their own space. The beach was close and the yard lagre and beautiful. Located close to everything in Yachats.
