Every room of this home has large windows with “million dollar views” of the surrounding cliffs, beautiful trees and wildlife such as rabbits, deer and a multitude of birds ranging from quail to blue jays to falcons.

Your home-away-from-home boasts 2 separate living areas, upstairs and downstairs. Two rental options are available.

1) For 1-4 people, the private and separate downstairs quarters offers 2 large bedrooms with beautiful Queen Sleigh beds and TVs, full bath with tub/shower combination, a fully stocked kitchen including electric range, oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave and dining area for 4, large living room with 50 " TV and full size washer/dryer. WiFi connection is available. Step out the private downstairs entry door onto a large covered patio and adjacent uncovered flagstone patio. A gas BBQ grill is available. The lot is elevated, offering expansive views of the Vermillion cliffs, trees, and twinkling lights of the town at night. To further expand your view, an expansive upper level, covered deck is accessible. **If you are renting the separate downstairs area only, there will be no access to the upstairs interior of the home. To preserve your privacy, the upstairs will NOT be rented out during your stay.

2) For 1- 8 people, rent the entire home! An inside door separating the downstairs from the upstairs will be unlocked to give you complete access to both levels of the home. In addition to the downstairs amenities, the tastefully furnished upstairs level provides you with a large living room with wood burning stove, 55 inch flat screen TV, and acacia hard-wood floors. The gourmet kitchen has cherry- stained knotty alder cabinets, copper farmhouse sink, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances including refrigerator/freezer, double oven, convection microwave, 36” gas cook top and dishwasher. There is seating for 8 at the maple dining table. Step out the upstairs kitchen door onto the expansive covered deck and enjoy the amazing views. The Master Bedroom boasts a beautiful Mansion-style King size bed with memory foam mattress, wall-mounted flat screen TV. The adjoining Master Bath contains a large, beautifully tiled shower with seat and massaging showerhead. The 2nd bedroom has a 4-post Queen bed . The second upstairs bath is beautifully tiled and boasts a whirlpool jetted tub, shower, and large vanity with copper sink.

Kanab enjoys a mild-moderate change of season. It is a beautiful place to visit year around, even in the winter! The days are typically sunny, even when cold. It snows on occasion, though it is normally not heavy and does not affect the local roads. The snow on the Vermillion cliffs is a gorgeous sight to see.

The activities are almost endless in and near town. Take a short drive into town for dining, shopping, 2 grocery stores, Redbox movie rentals, 2 movie theaters, museums, public pool with large slide, park with playgound, and old movie sets. Enjoy hiking on numerous nearby trails. Learn about Kanab history and see real dinosaur tracks inside the Moqui Cave just north of town. Rent an ATV to ride on one of many nearby trails or take a guided jeep or ATV tour! The world famous Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is located just north of town in Angel Canyon; take a tour there or volunteer to work with the animals they serve. Ride a zip-line through canyons just miles north of town. Kanab is an easy day trip to several national parks, such as 40 miles to Zion National Park, 80 miles to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (seasonal from mid. May thru mid. October), and 79 miles to Bryce Canyon National Park.

Our Vermillion Canyon Hideaway home is very special to us and we are happy to share it with others. We hope you fall in love with it the way we have. Welcome and enjoy!

Great Utah Mountain Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience with VRBO and it was definitely more enjoyable than staying in hotel rooms for us. The house had more than enough room for 2 adult couples and three teenagers (who need their own space and bathroom). Since we weren't on top of one another, we could just relax and enjoy our wonderful surroundings. The house is clean, comfortable, and has been updated with many deluxe features and appliances. The internet worked well for both our business and personal needs. The kitchen area was beautifully remodeled, and worked well for all our cooking. We especially liked eating and relaxing outside while taking in the spectacular mountain scenery.

Ben and Sue were very accommodating and helpful in making this a positive vacation experience for us. Their home proved to be the perfect base camp for venturing out to Bryce, Zion, The Grand Canyon North Rim, Hoover Dam and Lake Powell. I would easily recommend this area of the country to visit and Ben and Sue's home to stay at while here.

Perfect home, perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our vacation to Kanab, UT where we stayed in this beautiful home. We are a family of 6 (4 kids ages 14, 11,9,7) and the home fit us perfectly with lots of room to spread out. The house was very clean and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. It is beautifully remodeled and everything was cared for and in working order. There was a nice grill and 2 adult bikes, both of which we unfortunately didn't get a chance to use. There were movies and board games and which we enjoyed during quiet evenings. I cooked every meal in the modern large kitchen. There is a hammock right outside and the kids had fun hunting for little lizards and watching the rabbits. This home was fabulous for our family!

The house is located in a neighborhood (yet quite private) just a couple minutes from the cute little town of Kanab. Kanab had everything one would need from restaurants to a dollar store. There are also 2 grocery stores in Kanab.

The home is about 40 minutes from Zion, which is breathtaking. It is about 1 1/2 hrs from both Bryce and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We loved all three of these places. We did the 1 hour North Rim tour on mules at the Grand Canyon. I highly recommend it with kids!

It was very hot during our stay. We swam in the Virgin River in Zion a lot of the days. It was heaven! I also read online that there is a outdoor community pool in Kanab that has open swim times everyday. We didn't have time to go but wish we had. We also went to Coral Sands, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, and Moqui Cave. I would recommend all of these places for short distance family trips. Overall, though, Zion was our favorite place. There is so much to see and do there for any age!

The homeowners Ben and Sue exceeded our expectations. I especially worked with Sue during our rental process. She is kind, considerate, and helpful. She is very organized and pays close attention to detail so every step of our experience was smooth and easy. She gave us valuable tips that saved us time which helped to create a seamless vacation stay. We couldn't have had a better home for our vacation or a better hostess. I highly recommend this home. We will definitely be renting again in the future from Ben and Sue if we are fortunate enough to visit beautiful southern Utah again! Thank you so much Ben and Sue!!

Perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

We've been fortunate to stay in a number of VRBO properties all over the country, and this home is now in our top 3. I always love this location. While Kanab is a sleepy little town with not a lot to offer in night life (if that's what you're looking for), it's adequate with eating establishments, gift shops, and necessities. But that's not why we go to Kanab. It's a great central location for so many really amazing road trips.

The house. Warm, welcoming, comfortable. First words that come to mind. The layout was really great with the covered porch off the kitchen. Views were wonderful. Right in the middle of a quiet neighborhood that surreptitiously hums with the bustle of everyday life. 5 minutes from central Kanab. We were traveling with 2 couples and a single. One of the couples was our son and his girlfriend, who really enjoyed the privacy of a full apartment on the first floor.

All of the updates that Sue and Ben have done in the house were well thought-out. Bathrooms and kitchen are like new ... really nice appliances and fixtures. Kitchen was very well appointed with a great assortment of pots, pans, dishes. Beds were very comfortable. Linens were great. Lots of towels. Lots of closet space.

Although they do not participate in VRBO's on-line booking system, sending and check and receiving the keys in the mail was not an issue. Sue was responsive and communicative through the entire process. She was a pleasure to deal with.

I can't think of anything negative to say about this home. Only thing I would change is that I would put in a hot tub (but that's just one of those things that's always on my wish list). I'm sure, though, that brings a whole set of headaches for an owner.

In a nutshell .. this home was fabulous.

Great stay in Kanab

  • 5 of 5

4 of us arrived after dark, so it was not until the next morning that I was greeted with the most breathtaking view from the upstairs deck. The views were equally impressive from every room. The house is beautifully appointed with amenities like hardwood floors and custom cabinetry, but felt so homey we were quite comfortable curling up on the oversized furniture in the living room. It is fully equipped if you want to cook or grill out. The bedrooms are large and inviting with all the comforts we could want. A lot of attention has been paid to even small details.

The location is a plus. It is very private yet is close to town where we had some very nice meals. Try breakfast at Houston's in Kanab. The house is also close to several national parks. We were only able to visit Zion which should be on everyone's vacation list. We will be going back. If you are an animal lover, check out Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. It is a heartwarming experience.

A special thanks to the owners, Sue and Ben. You were a great resource and we can tell how much you love the house. We will be back and we are telling all our friends!

All the Comforts of Home in Kanab, Utah

  • 5 of 5

We recently returned from a six day family vacation in Kanab, Utah. We chose to stay at Vermillion Canyon Hideaway due to it's central location to many of the National Parks we wanted to visit. Well we couldn't have been more pleased! This recently remodeled home is just beautiful! It is full of high end finishes such as hardwood floors, granite, new custom wood cabinets, stainless appliances in the kitchen and updated bathrooms with attractive tile work. The new, covered back deck is a great place to watch the sunrise & sunset over the canyon.

There were five of us staying here, two couples & one single adult and we were very comfortable. While we ate out most of the time, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you'd need to cook a meal (food not included). There is also a dining table large enough to sit 8, great for family gatherings.

This house is located only minutes away from downtown Kanab, yet feels very private. There are a good variety of restaurants in Kanab. Our favorites were the Rocking V & Escobar's. I would recommend making reservations at Rocking V as it is quite popular.

There are many parks & hikes within an hour and a half drive or less. We visited Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Bryce National Park, the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Secret Canyon, a slot canyon in Page, Arizona and went on a boat tour on Lake Powell. We also took a drive up to Duck Creek Village to explore the area & shops.

There is still so much more we'd love to see in southern Utah. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat! Sue & Ben made our stay so comfortable & were quick to answer any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this property as your home base while exploring southern Utah.
