About Faye Sisson

We have family who live in Gulf Shores and having the condo helps us spend time with them. We have an active lifestyle in Atlanta but love the people here on the island most.

I am a native of Atlanta, now living in one of the northern suburbs. I am a grandmother, gardener, community volunteer and a happy beach fan. My mom is 92 and enjoys the great balcony view and easily accessibility of the condo.

Faye Sisson purchased this condo in 2013

Why Faye Sisson chose Alabama

The View!!! It is so perfect. The building is close to the waterline and the balconies have an unobstructed view all the way from Alabama point to Gulf Shores. We also needed a easy care flat, no steps. The condo has a good size balcony, pleasant decor and is completely equipped.

What makes this condo unique

Great location. Very close to shopping and restaurants. Easy access to hwy 161, Orange Beach, Perdido, Canal road and the Wharf. Access to the state park is nearby for walkers and bike riders.

There is lot's to see and do in addition to the beach. I almost don't know where to start. If the first entry doesn't interest you, please keep reading. There is something for everyone.

It is an easy drive to the historic site at Fort Morgan. Fort Morgan and Fort Gaines guarded the entrance to Mobile bay and are preserved as National Parks. From there take the ferry to Dauphin Island and visit the Estuarium. It tells the story of the watershed that makes up Mobile bay and our part of the the Gulf Coast. It is not a big fancy aquarium, but really a good way to understand the ecology of the area. On a pretty day the ferry trip is almost the best part. It is a short ride and you see the bay and some of the oil rigs.

The charming town of Fairhope, Mobile Bay, Pensacola and the city of Mobile are all less than 2 hours away. Alabamians say that 'Fairhope is special' and they are right. It is stepping back to another time. Be sure to take a walk out on the pier, the view is stunning. Shopping in Fairhope is fun and unique, no chain stores in the downtown area but lots of art, crafts, and high end fashion.

The Naval Air Museum is very interesting, makes you proud of our Navy men and women. It is about 45 minutes away on the west side of Pensacola. This is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.

On the island you might be interested in Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, the Wharf entertainment district and Waterville water park.

Bring your bikes and ride in Gulf Shores state park. You could also rent bikes if you like. The park is over 600 acres of trails, lakes and maritime forest as well as a golf course and 2.5 miles of gulf beach.

If you are a shopper, Tanger Outlets is a quick trip to Foley. The Wharf has boutique type shopping and entertainment.

The USS Alabama is docked at Mobile bay. It is a fun, interactive experience especially for vets and kids.

Bellingrath Gardens are world famous and beautiful at any time of the year. The house is also open for tours. It was the home of Mr and Mrs Bellingrath. He was the local Coca Cola bottler and she acquired many things brought to her from all over the Gulf coast during the Great Depression. To Mrs Belligrath's credit she never took advantage of the families who needed to sell their treasures, she always paid a fair price. The water views from the morning room is beautiful. Bellingrath is an easy day trip and well worth your time.

The Gulf Shores zoo is small but really cute. They usually have some sort of "animal experience". Call the zoo hours or to make reservations.

Have fun!

Nice condo in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We like Emerald Skye because it is close to Orange Beach shopping and restaurants not to mention that it sits directly on the beach - wonderful unobstructed view. Condo is nicely decorated, clean, well stocked and very comfortable overall. The second floor location is ideal because we took the stairs instead of depending on elevator.

Awesome beach view

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time to stay at the Emerald Skye and it never disappoints. The rooms are always clean and so accommodating. The view of the beach from the balcony are to die for. If you're looking for a smaller condo, you can't go wrong here! We'll definitely be back for years to come.

I loved this place! Loved that is a six story building and no long waiting for long for elevator or take stairs! The condo itself looks more updated than the pictures online. There were minor downs, cosmetic really and have emailed owner and hopefully owner will make updates. Overall wonderful wonderful!!!

Owner's Response: We are so glad you liked the condo and that you had a great time. I did not receive the email you mentioned and am at a little bit of a loss as to what is needed. We have owned the condo three years and I can tell you what has been replaced. In the kitchen we replaced the refrigerator and dishwasher and added a microwave over the stove. We have new granite counter tops, tile backsplash, new faucet and sink and a ceiling fan. In the bath new counter top, sink faucet and light fixture. The dining set is new this spring. In the bedroom we replaced the flooring, new TV and lamps and added a piece of furniture. This is a true family beach home. We try to make it comfortable for us and for our guest. We hope you visit again.

Super cute! Awesome view!

  • 4 of 5

I loved being beachfront, especially for the price! You can't beat the location or the view with this price point. Super cute condo. Clean. Small, but all the space we needed! We spent as much of our time as possible on the beach or balcony! Would definitely return.
