About Faye Sisson

We have family who live in Gulf Shores and having the condo helps us spend time with them. We have an active lifestyle in Atlanta but love the people here on the island most.

I am a native of Atlanta, now living in one of the northern suburbs. I am a grandmother, gardener, community volunteer and a happy beach fan. My mom is 92 and enjoys the great balcony view and easily accessibility of the condo.

Faye Sisson purchased this condo in 2013

Why Faye Sisson chose Alabama

The View!!! It is so perfect. The building is close to the waterline and the balconies have an unobstructed view all the way from Alabama point to Gulf Shores. We also needed a easy care flat, no steps. The condo has a good size balcony, pleasant decor and is completely equipped.

What makes this condo unique

Great location. Very close to shopping and restaurants. Easy access to hwy 161, Orange Beach, Perdido, Canal road and the Wharf. Access to the state park is nearby for walkers and bike riders.

Great location, easily assessible

  • 4 of 5

The condo is in a great location close enough to great restaurants, but not in the areas that are way overcrowded. The unit was a little snug for our 5 person family with 3 of them being little kids, but worked. I wish the top bunk had rails on it as we couldn't use it for fear of our oldest falling off. Having the washer and dryer was great and the view was great. We had everything we needed here and would definitely come back.

Very clean!!

  • 5 of 5

We were very happy with our stay. The condo was very clean when we arrived. Tropical storm Cindy arrived while we were there, and Faye was very considerate of our well being as she was in contact with us. The additional beach chair and umbrella in the downstairs storage closet came in handy for our son (we had rented the large chair and umbrella for 2 there on the beach). We also liked that she left a binder with menus from different places to eat. Our condo was also convenientally located to several good restaurants, the Back Country Trail, Wal Mart Market, and Publix. We liked that the balcony is a pretty good size, with a table and chairs. We sat out there and ate breakfast one morning and sat out there at night. Overall, this was a fabulous vacation at the beach, despite the rain for 2 days. We would definitely recommend this condo for a vacation on the beach.

Perfect Location!

  • 5 of 5

My kids and I had a wonderful time in Orange Beach! The condo location is perfect, very close to the beach, and having a storage closet on the ground floor was a plus so we didn't need to store our beach gear into the condo or car every day. Added bonus that the storage closet was well stocked with beach chairs, boogie board, beach toys, etc. The condo is clean and was perfect for the four of us. My only complaint, and I realize it is completely out of the owner's control, I thought the whole complex was smoke free. Our balcony time was cut short occasionally due to other guests smoking on their balconies.

Highly recommend staying here!

There is lot's to see and do in addition to the beach. I almost don't know where to start. If the first entry doesn't interest you, please keep reading. There is something for everyone.

It is an easy drive to the historic site at Fort Morgan. Fort Morgan and Fort Gaines guarded the entrance to Mobile bay and are preserved as National Parks. From there take the ferry to Dauphin Island and visit the Estuarium. It tells the story of the watershed that makes up Mobile bay and our part of the the Gulf Coast. It is not a big fancy aquarium, but really a good way to understand the ecology of the area. On a pretty day the ferry trip is almost the best part. It is a short ride and you see the bay and some of the oil rigs.

The charming town of Fairhope, Mobile Bay, Pensacola and the city of Mobile are all less than 2 hours away. Alabamians say that 'Fairhope is special' and they are right. It is stepping back to another time. Be sure to take a walk out on the pier, the view is stunning. Shopping in Fairhope is fun and unique, no chain stores in the downtown area but lots of art, crafts, and high end fashion.

The Naval Air Museum is very interesting, makes you proud of our Navy men and women. It is about 45 minutes away on the west side of Pensacola. This is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.

On the island you might be interested in Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, the Wharf entertainment district and Waterville water park.

Bring your bikes and ride in Gulf Shores state park. You could also rent bikes if you like. The park is over 600 acres of trails, lakes and maritime forest as well as a golf course and 2.5 miles of gulf beach.

If you are a shopper, Tanger Outlets is a quick trip to Foley. The Wharf has boutique type shopping and entertainment.

The USS Alabama is docked at Mobile bay. It is a fun, interactive experience especially for vets and kids.

Bellingrath Gardens are world famous and beautiful at any time of the year. The house is also open for tours. It was the home of Mr and Mrs Bellingrath. He was the local Coca Cola bottler and she acquired many things brought to her from all over the Gulf coast during the Great Depression. To Mrs Belligrath's credit she never took advantage of the families who needed to sell their treasures, she always paid a fair price. The water views from the morning room is beautiful. Bellingrath is an easy day trip and well worth your time.

The Gulf Shores zoo is small but really cute. They usually have some sort of "animal experience". Call the zoo hours or to make reservations.

Have fun!
