About the host
Hosted by Norman Bishop
My wife and I are long-time Vancouver residents who recently transitioned into retirement after selling our business. Over the past two years, we’ve hosted extended-stay guests in our home through a third party, and now we’re delighted to welcome guests directly.
We spend much of our time traveling — exploring new cultures, hiking, paddleboarding, and enjoying our vacation homes abroad — so when we’re away, we love the idea of our home being lived in and appreciated rather than sitting empty. It’s a very personal space, one we’ve designed over many years to reflect our love of architecture, light, and the beauty of the West Coast.
We’re selective about who stays here because we truly care about maintaining the atmosphere we’ve created. We welcome respectful, mature guests who will enjoy the home’s design, treat it with care, and feel inspired by its location. Our goal isn’t simply to rent — it’s to share a home that embodies calm, comfort, and connection to the sea and city around it.
We’ve lived in Vancouver for decades and have seen the city evolve, but our neighborhood still feels special — a peaceful pocket right on the ocean with a true community feel. We hope guests who stay here come away with the same appreciation for this city that we’ve always had.

Why they chose this property
Simply put — it’s Vancouver’s best address.
We fell in love with this neighborhood because it offers the rare ability to walk across the street and be at the ocean. Descend the stairs and you’re right on the shoreline — perfect for morning walks, paddleboarding, or watching the sunset over English Bay.
From the front door, you can stroll to coffee shops, restaurants, and local grocery stores within minutes. A slightly longer walk or bike ride takes you to Jericho Beach, Kits Beach, and the shops of West 4th and Broadway. Despite being so central, the area maintains a calm, residential feel — quiet enough to hear the waves, yet connected to everything that makes Vancouver vibrant.
Point Grey Road has become known for its beauty and tranquility — a traffic-calmed stretch of waterfront lined with architectural homes, gardens, and unbeatable views. For us, it represents the perfect balance of nature, city, and community.

What makes this property unique
What sets our home apart is the combination of location, design, and experience.
It sits directly on the waterfront of Point Grey Road, one of Vancouver’s most exclusive and scenic streets. The views are panoramic — spanning English Bay, the North Shore mountains, Stanley Park, and the downtown skyline. Whether you’re sipping coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at sunset, the changing light over the water never gets old.
Architecturally, the home is a contemporary masterpiece, recently featured in Canadian House & Home Magazine for its innovative design and connection to the landscape. The reverse floor plan maximizes natural light and views, with the main living area on the top floor and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that slide completely open to merge indoors and out.
Every detail was considered — from the chef’s kitchen with dual ovens and dishwashers to the adjustable king bed overlooking the park and bay, and the expansive rooftop deck complete with a hot tub, firepit, and 360° views of the ocean and mountains.
We’ve designed the home to feel welcoming yet elevated, modern but comfortable — a place where you can work remotely, host quietly, or simply relax and recharge. It’s rare to find a property that offers such a close connection to the ocean while still being within walking distance of everything Vancouver has to offer. That’s what makes it truly special.
