Great Place, wonderful location, fantastic host!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at many HomeAway properties through the years, but never had such a wonderful experience. The apartment - half of a duplex - was roomy, clean, charming. There was lots of interesting artwork, books, travel guides, and a very comfortable bed. The place was stocked with some goodies, including beer. The location was perfect. We did not have a car, but it was one block to several bus stops, 3 blocks to St Charles trolley, so it was easy to get wherever we wanted to go.

The best part, however, was our host Jack. He lives next door, and couldn't be nicer. He picked us up from the airport, took us to a grocery store, gave us tips on how to get around and things to do. He drove us back to the airport at the end of the week and took us to his favorite seafood restaurant along the way.

Anyone who is going to New Orleans would have a wonderful stay at Jack's place. We are so happy to call him our friend.

Part of an Eclectic Neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

What fun we had staying in this shotgun style house on the edge of the Garden District! This was quite roomy with separate living space, kitchen and bedroom. There were many small extras - decorative art, movie DVDs, beads, spare linens, maps & brochures and coffee table books about the area. We were 1 block from two bus lines and a short walk to the St. Charles trolley line making it easy to get to the French Quarter, Canal Street and even City Park. Our host lives next door and we were happy that he offered advice on things we might be interested in. Street parking was easy on the days we had a rental car. We cooked most evenings and were glad to find foil, plastic wrap, oil, Cajun seasoning and even laundry soap.

Perfect Getaway for Work or Play

  • 5 of 5

This unit has a ton of vintage and artistic charm with all the modern amenities of home. The host is engaging and extremely helpful making sure we had everything we needed, giving us advice on how best to enjoy the neighborhood and New Orleans. The unit is super clean, comfy and spacious as is the bathroom, which honestly in New Orleans can be hit or miss. This bathroom was a hit. I especially loved the special touches like the vanity with make-up mirror in the bedroom - something I desperately need and never find in a rental! We loved our stay here and look forward to coming back.

Did not stay, owner did not have access set up.

  • 1 of 5

Spoke to owner and he stated we could have access when we arrived, met him know we were driving all night from Texas. He stayed no problem and left phone number. No answer until nearly 1 pm the following day. We had to find a hotel after over an hour of trying to reach him.
