About Julie Stevens

A family gem that has been updated through the decades to our present beautiful outdoor destination wedding venue in the Spring, Summer, and Fall months. The Winter months provide a stunning backdrop to the ski trails and fireworks shows while offering one of the most comfortable clean and delightful lodging houses around the area.

Julie Stevens purchased this lodge in 1953

Why Julie Stevens chose Sunday River

This is a great property as it is away from the hub-bub of the mountain yet just a 2-3 minute drive. The views out the ceiling to floor windows, allow you to watch fireworks, snow cats' grooming and the majestic peaks with panoramic views.

What makes this lodge unique

Roomy and open with a 3 minute drive off the mountain. No long windy access road to get to your destination or to have to drive up and around for costly views!

great wedding weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great wedding weekend at the Mountain House! The house and property were clean and well-maintained. The descriptions were accurate. The owners, Julie and Frank, are wonderful, friendly, and so accommodating! They treat you and yours like family. I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a venue that's rustic, beautiful, and different from the ordinary wedding venue!

ski weekend with friends

  • 5 of 5

We rented the mountain house for a ski weekend with friends - some couples and some singles. The house was PERFECTLY set up for larger groups. The living/kitchen/dining area is large, open, cozy, and ideal for everyone to hang together. The leather couches were the most comfortable ever and look out on the most amazing view of Sunday River. Everything was spotless on arrival and Julie was attentive to all questions/concerns. We would love to rent this house again. Highly recommended for a fun winter getaway!

Great Chalet! Excellent accommodations for ski bums!

  • 5 of 5

The house was super clean. The kitchen was outfitted for cooking actual meals. The fridge held plenty of food and beer. The bathrooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The fire was warm. The view was awesome. It is super close to Sundayriver. Nothing bad to say. Great Place. Bring your friends and family and have a great time!

Yours Truly,

Professional Ski Bum

A great house

  • 5 of 5

A great rental all in all with wonderful living room and kitchen, complete with spectacular view of Sunday River. The hosts were responsive and a pleasure to deal with. The house was spotlessly clean and everything you could possibly need was provided.

The layout of the bedrooms is a little unusual and is probably better suited for a large family rather than couples sharing the house. Overall, a great property.
