Julie and Frank's house was perfect for our ski weekend. The six of us were quite comfortable, and the house has a really nice cozy factor! Will definitely stay here again, and tell our friends. Thanks Julie!
The farmhouse was as advertised…exceptional views of Sunday River and a very quick drive to skiing. The house is very well taken care of and the owners are extremely responsive. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend.
We had an excellent stay at this mountain house near Sunday River. The home comfortably accommodated all seven of us without ever feeling cramped, which made it ideal for a group trip. The mountain views from the house were outstanding, and being able to watch fireworks over the mountains right from the property was a memorable highlight. The location is very convenient to the ski area, making it easy to get on and off the mountain. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed, which made settling in straightforward and hassle free. We especially enjoyed the fireplace, as well as the thoughtful decor, which gave the home a warm, classic mountain feel.Julie was a very accommodating and responsive host throughout our stay, which made the experience even better. We would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable, well equipped mountain home close to Sunday River.
So many good things to say. First, the location is phenomenal - only a few minutes from Sunday River base areas. Never had a problem parking and getting right on the hill…even when we were moving slow in the morning. Second, the view. It is truly stunning, utterly peaceful, and keeps you connected to the mountain even when you’re in full apres mode. Third, the space itself is so cozy that once we got back we never wanted to leave - and the nicely appointed kitchen made it easy to stay in, cook, and enjoy some wonderful family memories each night. Finally, the owner could not be more helpful and attentive. She made the whole process smooth and takes great pride in being a top-rated host (well-deserved). Highly recommend.
This is one of the most relaxing home-like places that we have rented. It was easy to access and the open area living
space with a fireplace AND overlooking the beautiful Sunday River peaks and trails was even better than expected!
Super clean, very comfortable beds and a separate Suite upstairs for our own privacy from the kids sleeping in the loft.
We will be back. Thanks
Our family of 5 stayed here over February school break for a ski adventure at Sunday River. The house was so cozy and rustic with natural wood, an awesome open floor plan and spectacular views of Sunday River-waking up to the mountains and watching the groomers by night were true highlights for all of us! The gas fireplace made it so cozy to dry our gear and warm up after a solid day of skiing. Slopes and restaurants were a quick and easy drive down the road. Hosts Julie and Frank were wonderful hosts and great communicators. Would highly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay at this house! It is so convenient to the slopes at Sunday River and has spectacular views of the mountain. Even though the skiing was not at all good during our week there due to the recent flooding, we really enjoyed our time since the house offered a wonderful place for our group of 6 adults and teens to gather and hang out and play games. The open-concept kitchen and living room have a rustic charm and are spacious and allow everyone to spread out comfortably. Julie was very easy to work with. She was super responsive when we had any questions or issues and we would certainly rent from her again.
The Mountain House is a great spot. Close to Sunday River and uniquely situated with open fields in front that give a spectacular view of Sunday River. The lodge is very comfortable- we were just two but there are beds for 6-8. Julie is great and very responsive, and also gave us great recommendations of things to do in the area as well as where to get food, etc. Highly recommend!
Close to mountain with great views of the slopes. 3 Min drive to base lodges. Would definitely recommend.
There are stairs going up to a balcony. If you have a toddler I’d recommend bringing a baby gate. We moved a tall bench in front of the stairs and that worked well.
The lodge was superb! It was right by the mountain and had an amazing view of the mountain from the living room. It is very spacious and clean with an easy to use fireplace as well.
We would definitely rent again.
I would absolutely rent this property again and will recommend it to any friends/family looking for a place to stay while visiting Sunday River! It’s a BEAUTIFUL, super conveniently located home. Julie was also amazing and went above and to ensure our stay was the best it could be.
This house has the most advantageous view of Sunday River. We watched fireworks from the panoramic window and woke up to beautiful sunrises over the mountain. It’s a quick drive to the slopes - literally minutes - and is quiet and relaxing. The house is set up with anything you could want or need and the open concept is perfect for groups and families! It was cozy and peaceful in every way. Julie is attentive and responsive - making everything a breeze. I couldn’t recommend this house and location more!
Everything was wonderful for a ski weekend. It was a little weird, however, that someone was staying in an apartment attached and we did not know that ahead of time. They were quiet, but if they hadn’t been, they would have kept our kids up!
Easy 3 minute commute to Sunday river, beautiful home, spacious, nice view of mountain. Home nicely equipped with all you need. Bring your own food!!

Nothing short of AMAZING!
Brett and I were unable to view the venue in person before booking so we needed to rely on the Mountain House website and reviews. Once we actually saw the venue, we were blown away. The property is breathtaking from the mountains to the onsite apple trees.
During our venue search, we were looking for a venue that our bridesmaids and groomsmen were able to stay on site during the wedding weekend. The Mountain House was a perfect fit. Both houses on the property are well care and set up perfectly for socializing.
Brett and I, along with all of our friends and family, had a weekend we will never forget at the Mountain House on Sunday River!
