We expect our home would be treated with the same level of dignity and respect that one would give to their home. We do not expect the property to be put to shame. The cleaning service is provided so that our tenants can have a relaxing getaway without having to worry about picking up crumbs or leaving smudges on windows or even about doing laundry. They clean counters, vacuum, do the linens, make all of the beds, and other cleaning. When they arrived, they found that the bottom of the grill was coated in layers of chicken mixed with bones and barbeque sauce, and the rest of the grill was coated with barbecue sauce and maggots. After great effort in cleaning it, we found that the burners had such a coating from this that they would no longer light. In addition, the oven was coated too in a layer of food that even after using the self-clean, the cleaning lady had to spend an hour scraping it all off. Lastly, we provide each tenant with a pile of firewood that has lasted everyone throughout the entire summer. It is checked to make sure there is enough left before each tenants arrival, and there was a little over half of the pile still left. After only three nights with a group of only five people, this tenant managed to use the entire stack. The tenant then proceeded to go into one of our latched sheds that we have for personal use and emptied it of its contents. This shed contained the equivalent of a cord and a half of special wood that I kept separate for my personal use. I am an avid woodcarver and use that wood for my carvings that I have used to decorate our homes. This is why it was separated from the rest and latched to keep it closed as well as to keep others out. It is physically impossible to have burned through that much wood in a three-day span. We do not wish to cause conflict or problems with our tenants; we only hope that you enjoy your stay. The reason we kept the security deposit, which is the same amount of money for each and every tenant, is because we will need to purchase new wood to replace what was lost from my private collection. Also, we will need to purchase new burners for the grill. We provide our phone number prior to your stay in case you have any questions or problems. Also, we call to check in with you periodically to see how you are enjoying your stay. All of our tenants have always had an outstanding stay and experience. We hope that one poor review will not discourage others from having a great experience.

I am sorry you felt that way. NEVER have I ever yelled at a guest. The driveway they your speaking of was a construction entrance for large trucks to get into the property while rebuilding the house after the fire. We had a gate across it, we also had large logs blocking it with signs that said DO NOT PARK. It was only stones and had not been paved , therefor it was not safe to use. It had nothing to do with my boat parked there. We have security cameras because we are 7 hours away. 3/4 of our yard is fully enjoyable and was never touched by construction equipment and is professional maintained. There is a floating dock with a 16 foot row boat that I give to guests to use. We have 96 feet of dock with a corner Kayak access. We have lost so many umbrellas in the river from guest putting them up and leaving for the day, that we decided against replacing them. We do have two covered porches that you can enjoy and watch the ships go by in the shade. The check we sent out to you 7 days after your checkout. When you called us we were at our home in Florida for a week. As I stated to you I will check with the bank and if its not cashed will put a stop payment and reissue a check, which we did. You did not contact me to let me know you never received it until 25 days after your stay.
