We had a great stay! The highlight was the incredible views out of every space in this natural light filled gem of a cabin. It worked great for our family of 5.

Although it is a beautiful property with amazing lakeside views, I would not stay here again. Upon arrival there was construction debris and most of the yard was roped off. The worst part was there really is no AC. I messaged the owner about this when I arrived and they directed me to two portable units that were packed away deep in the closet. After getting them setup we quickly realized these units were too small to adequately cool the place, leaving us miserable while temps were over 90 degrees inside.

Hi Jesse, I'm very sorry your stay was not what you expected. There is no option on VRBO for "we have portable AC units" but instead it's just yes we have AC or not - we've not had anyone complain after two summers but after your comments, we are buying some more units today.
We are trying to grow grass and thus had those small spaces around our cabin roped off - we had hoped the 1,000 sq feet of wrap around deck and the 1,500 sq feet of platform on the lake provided sufficient space to recreate outside. We are still working on a garage and sauna and so there is some construction material we are saving that is 30 feet from the one side of the cabin that gets the least use, and that is all under tarps. I'm very sorry this eyesore diminished the quality of your stay.
Separately, our cleaning person said there were super dirty dishes left in the sink, it looked like someone threw up in the dishwasher without cleaning it up, and that there was some type of stains ground into the floor and walls.
This was a lovely short stay in a beautiful new cabin! The views are spectacular. We were also treated to the Northern Lights which was very cool! Took a quick walk down the hill to the deck that's at the top of the stairs to the lake. Since it was winter, the peace and quiet was simply wonderful. Comfortable bed and cozy furnishings. We'd recommend the Vermillion Club for dinner. It's really close and the food was great!Eric responded quickly to a couple questions we had. Hopefully we can return in the summer or fall. Thanks for the excellent accommodations!
The host was very kind and the home was PERFECTLY clean! Great views as well. For the price, this was a very great home and my friends had an incredible ice fishing trip. Only a couple small recommendations. The unit can get very bright, and blinds would be nice for the bedrooms and sleeping areas. The road up to the home is very steep, so definitely recommend salting for guests. Additionally, the pathway to the dock is also very steep. Thankfully my friends are in good shape, but would recommend a railing to assist with getting down safely. A futon was not present, but the couch was decently comfortable for sleeping - would recommend reaching out to Vrbo to get that changed from fouton to couch. The shower is nice but I do notice that a decent bit of water escapes past the seals. We covered with towels, but the floor would get wet after showering. The only other suggestion would be a garage or an indoor parking area. Not a big deal, but helps with storing gear and gives more room on the inside. Huge thank you to Eric for hosting us for this years yearly ice fishing trip. It was a trip to remember and we will DEFINITELY be back :).

Thanks again, Christian. We very much appreciate the comments! Yes, shades had been on our list for a while and we just got them installed. Totally acknowledge the steep driveway and apologies we didn't have it sanded in advance. We've updated the description to make it clear that we have two couches but neither are futons (VRBO is odd about that). We've also installed a shower door base sealer to stop the water from coming out. Hopefully we have a garage by this summer... Would love to have you all back soon!
