Nobody wanted to leave when the vacation was over!

Except for a minor hiccup or two the home provided a great place for our 3 families to stay for the week. Each family occupied a floor. The boardwalk to the beach was only 3 houses away. The open concept kitchen was spacious, allowed for good interaction in the dining area and as well supplied as any rental property could be expected to be. The grandkids (all < 7 yrs) would go to the beach in the morning, come back to the house for lunch and make good use of the pool after lunch.Unfortunately, the view to the beach will be obscured in the not too distant future due to construction. The alarm on the door to the pool was a welcome safety feature. Bathrooms were nice with one or two needing a toilet seat tightened or a faucet adjusted, but with so many to choose from we overlooked the minor things. The washer and dryer came in handy for the parents of the small children. This has been one of the most enjoyable and relaxing vacations we have had as combined families. Our thanks to the owners for allowing us to stay there.

meh, expected better for a house like this

The house was nice, but perhaps I had unrealistic expectations based on the fact its a 2M+ home and the cost to rent was what it was. We were definitely misled as it said they have a private hot tub. Definitely not the case, it was the same temp as the pool and I was told it would cost a considerable amount to get it to 85 degrees...sure, not gonna happen. The bunk beds were great, we had 5 kids sleeping in that room, but the guard kept falling off the top bunks..not super safe because the kids could fall and the guard could hit someone in the head. Shower Head in one of the bathrooms feel off and hit one of the kids in the head. No bueno. I wouldn't be surprised if the home was in foreclosure because it just seems like it's not very well cared for. The TV in the family room is nice, but all the wires are exposed and make it super ugly and unprofessional. Elevator was convenient for moving suitcases and stuff. Literally no beach towels and a small number of bath towels. The AC was locked at 69 could get pretty warm on the 4th floor, but nothing you could do about it. Internet was fine. Ice maker was a nice touch and the place had double ovens. Overall, this place has so much potential. The entire home has a sound system..but no instructions on how to use it. Same with the stuff in the family room connected to the TV. I am pretty electronic savvy and couldn't figure it out. It would make sense if they had a welcome guide to the house, telling the person about the ins and outs of the home and all it has to offer. Sadly it fell short.

Loved it!!

We stay at Destiny by the sea every year and we must say, this was the best house so far. Any question we had we addressed immediately and when you there for only a week that's very important. The view was beautiful and the house was very comfortable. We would recommend this house. Hopefully we can reserve it every year!! :)

House in Horrible condition

If you are considering renting this property you should think twice. We have just returned from our weeklong stay in Destin, Florida and, despite the absolutely beautiful weather, our vacation was nothing but disappointment from the moment we arrived at this house. There were multiple issues with the home and I am listing just a few below. 1) The hot tub/jacuzzi did not work, pool leaked and the lights in the pool did not work. As a result, you cannot use the pool at night and you have to fill the pool every few days. 2) The exhaust vent on the stove was not operational. When we inquired about this from the rental company they again said they could not fix this, the owner would not authorize the expense. 3) The extremely heavy iron curtain rod in one of the bed rooms was being supported by duct tape. When we tried to open the curtain to access the balcony the rod fell off nearly striking a small child in the head. We contacted the property manager at 4:45pm and were told that they could not send their repairman out because they were gone for the day and since this was not an “emergency” they would not authorize the expense. Finally, after pleading with the senior manager at the rental company they did agree to reinstall the curtain rod and re-hang the curtains. 4) Lastly, and most disturbingly, the shower from the third floor leaked every day into the bed room immediately below. I thought we were going on a beach vacation, not to Niagara Falls! When we called to report this issue on the first day we were told to turn the shower head toward the wall and put towels down on the floor. That this happens all the time and there is no issue. Unfortunately this advice did not work. Although the rental company sent several “repairmen” to fix the problem, nothing worked. The problem only continued to get worse. By the time we left, the ceiling was close to falling in. The property manager, Regina along with the rental agency, Southern Vacation Rentals, were extremely unaccommodating. We do not live in these conditions at home and certainly would not expect to live in these conditions while on vacation when you pay for what you think is a premium beach home rental. I have never experienced a lack of customer service like this in all of my vacation home rentals. Again, the rental company, property manager and presumably the owner were fully aware of these problems upon our arrival and thought it was completely acceptable to rent this home.

Great house and excellent view!

We were asked to stay in this house since our booked house had A/C problem for the week we wanted. It was surprisingly pleasant and actually great experiences for all of us.

We enjoyed every aspects of this house: Great ocean views from balconies, Living Room, Master suite, cleanliness, well stocked kitchen, professional decors, short walk to the beach, Spa and swimming pool, and etc. Our kids loved their bunk room and TV of their own. We will make another visit in Vita la Bella this year.
