We built this as our home in 2010. We have severe allergies to pets and smoke. No pets or smoking allowed ! This is our dream home and we enjoy sharing it with people that appreciate it as much as we do.
Anne purchased this Chalet in 2010
Why Anne chose Penn Forest Township
Secluded, very private 17 acre mountain property with no other houses in view from our two large decks but still close to all summer and winter sports. Big Boulder and Jack Frost ski areas are just minutes away. Half hour drive to 100 store outlet mall. Swimming at Hickory Run State Park or Beltzville State Park or the indoor water park at Lake Harmony. Only 2 miles from white water rafting, scrimmage paint ball and mountain biking for summer fun. All mountain attractions nearby. Near the quaint town of Jim Thorpe with train rides and many tourist attractions. All this and still easy access from New York City and Philadelphia. Only 1 1/4 miles from Pennsylvania Turnpike exit and 10 miles from Interstate I-80 exit.
What makes this Chalet unique
Stocked pond with rainbow trout (catch and release) by the picnic area with two picnic tables, a gas grille, charcoal grille and a large fire pit, wood provided. There is a bridge over the waterfall near the hiking trails along the 1000 feet of flowing trout stream. Find the 3 secluded resting benches as you explore the rustic trails by the stream. See the tree that grows horizontal rather than vertical. Sit on the dock in the pond and enjoy an afternoon beverage or row the small rowboat around the pond. Or just relax and enjoy the view from one of the two 12 x 40 foot decks. Get away from the city and relax in the mountain air.

Beautiful, Comfortable, and Just-What-We-Expected!
Second year at this Home for our Family Winter Weekend! Clean, well-maintained, spacious, and great location! Kids sledded on the hill in the backyard and explored property; also enjoyed the movies provided!
Adults enjoyed some down time! Thank You, Ralph and Anne for sharing your home!
Lovely home with beautiful pond
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the house. Very comfortable and only a short distance to the town.
The 1 thing I would recommend would be an instruction sheet on the TV, fireplace, heating and how to operate upon arrival/departure. Other than that, this place has everything you need to have a nice relaxing time. And they even have covered wood storage, which was one of my main concerns!
Ralph and Anne are a pleasure to deal with. Look forward to coming back! Thanks again
Christmas week stay
The home was perfect! It's a convenient location and the house has everything you need.We had a wonderful stay with our family. We even enjoyed a nice campfire down by the pond while temperature was in the teens! I highly recommend this home. We're considering coming back for some summer fun!
House was as described. Looks just like the photos. Clean and quiet and in a perfect location close to the downtown area of Jim Thorpe. Ralph was also super friendly and accommodating. A family of six stayed comfortably in the upper level of the house. We enjoyed sitting by the fire at night or simply strolling around the property. We would stay here again.
Gorgeous property with all the extras.
The living quarters, kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms were all clean, modern, and ready for our visit. Everything we needed was supplied and of top quality. We only needed to bring food drinks and clothing. The very large deck with a breathtaking view of the property was enjoyed all weekend. The fire ring, with all the wood you could need, down by the amazing pond was just what we were looking for in a rental property. Loved everything about this property and the hosts were very easy to deal with from beginning to end. Would definitely recommend and return in the future. Thank you Ann and Ralph!
