Guestbook comments from the owner

The house was great for our family visit. A large amount of space for six adults and in a great, walk-able location. Amy left beautiful fresh flowers and provided excellent information via the house information book.

Great part of Georgetown and the house is very nice!

  • 5 of 5

Our impression of the property was that the area was beautiful with some great restaurants and stores nearby! Parking wasn't too bad. The owner was extremely responsive and the house and patio were charming. We had a great time.

Charm and location!

  • 5 of 5

Charming historic home in the heart of Georgetown. Great location to see anything in the D.C. area via public transportation, and Uber's arrived within 5 minutes anytime we called. Easy walk to shops and dining in Georgetown. Wonderful courtyard to relax in, as well as a wood burning fireplace for cooler weather. The owner, Amy is accommodating and helpful. Loved our stay!!

Amazing host, impeccably managed, crazy good location

  • 5 of 5

I'm from The DC area but our family needed a bit more room and different location than my parents' place allows, so rented Amy's wonderful home for 3 nights on our recent trip. It was perfect. Can't say enough about the E G'town neighborhood, and the extra space (and private patio!!) were amazing. We had a wonderful dinner outside with family on our last night - the perfect end to our week. The house is maintained and managed beautifully, with everything you could want or need in easy reach. Amy was super responsive and helpful. My ONLY word of caution is that this wouldn't be a great rental for anyone with mobility issues. Vertical living for sure, with two very steep stairwells. Old beautiful home and nothing to be done about it, just is what it is. We stayed with our toddlers and we're a little nervous but they managed fine. Amy even had a baby gate, which we put outside their room at night since that door was right by the top of the stairs and we didn't want anyone tumbling out at night. Would be tough for elderly visitors too, I imagine. Other than that inside "tip," it is perfect.

Historic and Quaint

  • 5 of 5

We spent three nights at at the house right before the July 4th holiday.

We were visiting for a wedding and and since there were four of us we decided to rent the house for the stay. It was exactly as expected. It is situated in the perfect location, surrounded by other historic homes. We walked everywhere, including twice to the Mall to visit the Lincoln Memorial and then the FDR Memorial. Easy access to the public transportation, shopping and restaurants as well. We adore old houses, and this house was in great condition, clean and updated. Felt like being home instead of in a sterile hotel environment. We actually own an old stone house (1790) similarly sized and wish ours was kept as pristine as this one. Amy even stopped by to check on us on day one to make sure we had everything we needed. We also had two cars and the parking was very easy...both of us were given parking passes and found spaces in front of the house. We will definitely be back.

Owner's Response: Wow ... it looks like someone brought a dog without letting me know. I do allow dogs but only with pre-approval and an extra dog cleaning fee. Will make sure the maids know to look for signs of any unauthorized 4-legged visitors.
