We survived Katrina, no floods, ( the cottage was built on high grounds, facing the Mississippi river, where Native Indians, early French settlers and their West-African slaves used to live in the 1720's).
We are blessed and thankful. Our thoughts still go the victims of this disaster.

Galleried Historic Creole cottage (Caribbean/Haitian style) in its tropical setting (petit jardin Gumbo Kreol traditionnel), built 1807, in a time of survival, by a wealthy free woman of colour, Madame Laporte. It is the oldest house in the legendary 'Faubourg Marigny', with original cypress wood floor, mantels.
2 blocks from the French Quarter and Bourbon street, also 2 blocks from Frenchmen street where locals go to listen to the best traditional & contemporary, progressive jazz in town (14 music clubs), go to great and very affordable restaurants (créole, italian, french, japanese, lebanese... ect... ), bookstores, great restaurant and many more attractions.

- 2) the first & second floor: 800 square feet.( EXTRA COST OF $60/night ).
Second floor: Studio over looking New-Orleans's skyline with a spacious bedroom, another kitchen, another full bathroom with tub & shower.
Sleeps all together 1-8 persons. ( 1-8 downstairs/ 2 more upstairs ).
