First-year deal! New 4-bedroom post and beam lake house on a semi-private pond.

Post and Beam house on the water, just finished earlier this year. It sits in the quiet woods of Maine, on a small semi-private pond, but only 20 minutes from Augusta. Tastefully furnished and outfitted. Geothermal heat and cooling for the entire house, with two additional heat/cool pumps in the upstairs bedroom.

Four bedrooms, each with their own bathroom ensuite. Moden gas commercial-style stove and 2-sided fireplace. Deck, fire pit, great new dock. All utilities including WIFI and internet service, cooling and trash removal.

The house offers a lovely blend of comfort and convenience, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. Whether you’re gathering with family or friends, this enchanting home provides a phenomenal setting for your getaway.

Weekly or longer rentals only from now until September 1, 2026. Overwinter lease from September 2026 to May 30, 2027.

This is a human-powered-only 'quiet' pond. Powered boats are not allowed. So if you like powerboats and want to brush up on your waterski skills, this is not it. But if you're someone who appreciates being close to nature, great fishing and swimming and an occasional Loon, you've found the place. It's what we call a 'Quiet Lakes' experience in Maine.

We're happy to assist with any questions you have, now or when you are staying at our lake house.

We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful lake home! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and right at home. The house is tastefully decorated with a simple, cozy style that makes it both comfortable and relaxing.Each bedroom has its own private bathroom, which was a huge plus for our family. The kitchen is well stocked with quality appliances and everything you could need to prepare meals. The home is spacious and comfortable, making it perfect for a family or group of four to eight people.One of our favorite features was the lovely dock, just a short walk down a path to the lake. The water is clear, and the peaceful surroundings made it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature.Because the property was brand new there were a few issues at first with items needing attention. However, communication with the host was easy and response was very quick to get things resolved. We loved our time here and made some wonderful memories. We would gladly stay here again and recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing lakeside getaway.

Alan and Kristina live in Freeport and own three waterfront properties in Maine. Alan grew up in central Maine and knows this area well. He is the primary designer or the shape of this building, while Kristina is responsible for much of the interior design.

We are active in growing the economy, protecting the environment, helping towns collaborate and encouraging businesses to take action, and plan for, climate change. Alan is an opinion columnist and Kristina runs a large non-profit in Portland that works with all the towns in that region on planning, transportation, housing, energy and climate.

We are co-founders of an organization called ClimateWork Maine, which is where many of the state's most successful business collaborate.

All of our buildings are heated and cooled with heat pumps. This newest building is also powered with geo-thermal, with solar being added soon.

We have long been premier hosts, though this building is too new for that designation.

We hope you will enjoy the work we've done to make these lakefront properties inviting, relaxing, fun and energizing.

Our buildings are in somewhat secluded places that are surrounded by nature and wildlife (Maine is blessed to have no dangerous animals or snakes). We focus on 'quiet' places, in which loud power boats are either non-existent or rare. Places where you can still hear the loons, when they're nearby.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

It is built in the old style of Maine barns and homes, with post and beam construction and stone fireplaces. Natural wood is used throughout, much of it milled within 20 miles of us. Each bedroom has it's own bath. Viking stoves enhance the kitchen, we think. It also has a few sitting areas in the house, where small groups can gather, and also an outside patio and deck.
