About the property

6 Bedrooms, 5.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 26. Large pond with Catch & Release Fishing.

A spacious ranch house nestled on 6 acres in the San Antonio country side. Located on the outskirts of San Antonio, yet only 15 minutes away from exciting downtown attractions such as the Alamo and Riverwalk. Serenity and scenic beauty is what makes this property truly special. There are tile floors throughout the entire house as well as a large fireplace that beautifully compliments the spacious living room. Two of the bathrooms are handicap accessible with walk-in showers. The house was built with accessibility and comfort in mind. The dining area has 2 tables with 12 chairs. Another key feature to the house is the massive back patio which runs the entire length of the home.

The property also offers a small basketball court and a large pond fed by well-water with a dock for fishing or just kicking back and enjoying the gorgeous view. The large Pond is about 100 yards from the house and is supplied by fresh clean well water. It is about 8ft at its deepest point so swimming is great and so is the fishing. The pond was built and stocked with Channel Cats, Bluegill Perch, and Largemouth Bass in in 2005. There is some fishing gear on site and a bait shop is only half a mile away. The spacious covered deck makes for a great picnic area. There is a Ping-Pong table on the back porch and a volleyball and basketball court as well.

The house itself is spacious and comforting. It's large enough to accommodate a large number of guests while never losing its warm and inviting country charm. There are 6 bedrooms in the home. 5 bedrooms have 2 queen size beds and the master bathroom has 1 queen size bed. Also, there are 2 sofa's in the living room and we provide 2 Queen size air mattresses as well. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and silverware and is also equipped with all the modern appliances a large group would need (coffee maker, crock pot etc.)

When all is said and done, the this property has everything you'll need to make your stay in San Antonio as memorable as possible!

We rented Dustin's property over the New Year's holiday for 6 days and had a fantastic time! Spacious, clean, 6 bedrooms, most with on suite bathrooms, a HUGE kitchen, 2 fridges and so much more made for a wonderful time. On site fishing, horseshoes, fire pit, swing, ping pong...the list is endless. We were met promptly and any questions were addressed at that time. The only issue was the internet connection, however when we reported this it was fixed promptly. Far enough out to be private and quiet, close enough to be convenient to all that San Antonio has to offer!!!

Wonderful family reunion

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Laguna house. The yard was perfect! The 8 teenagers and 9 younger children spent almost all of their time outside enjoying ping pong, frog watching, basketball and scootering around the expansive driveway. We were impressed with how quick and easy it was to drive into downtown San Antonio. And lastly, the kitchen was perfect for our Thanksgiving dinner! There was plenty of space for us all to help and plenty of room on the deck for us all to eat. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I really don't know where to start. I have nothing but great things to say about this property. My now husband and I reached out to Dustin in July because we wanted this property for our wedding venue in September. Dustin and Richard were very professional and easy going. They would also repond back to me timely with any questions or concerns that I had. I reside in Houston and my wedding was a few weeks after Hurricane Harvey. The property manager was completely understanding of how I was impacted, and allowed for me to make arrangements in lieu of my unexpected circumstances. They put my fears of possibly not getting married in September to rest and I GREATLY APPRECIATE the compassion. The property was absolutely beautiful and clean! I personally don't think that the pictures do it justice. I am a nature person so the pond, walking trail, and overall outdoor space was more than enough. As requested Richard sprayed the property for insects a few hours before the wedding started and he also took down the volleyball net for us. He was available to also take out the trash outside if it got too full. They were of assistance if I had a question during my stay. The way my wedding set up came to life during nigt fall was breathtaking! The guests were seated in the backyard and the reception was right on the patio. I loved the fact that there was also more then enough space for the caterer to set up in the kitchen and have the food truck on the property! This property was a for sure hit with my guest and will be used for future trips.

This property was just the ticket for our six sisters retreat! Beautiful, awesome oversized kitchen with everything you need for cooking, and everyone had their own bed and bath to boot!

Richard was accommodating to our needs with his Texas charm. One thing to be aware of, if you are a “tech-y” family, because of the rural location, internet speeds are quite slow. We had a sister who had a hot spot, and that fixed most of our issues. This is in no way, Richards fault, it just is what it is in the country.

The property has beautiful locations for family pictures which we took advantage of.

All in all, just a superior spot for us!

About Dustin

My name is Dustin and I am the property manager for this listing. I am prior active duty Air Force and a UT Austin Alum (Hook 'Em). My personal goal is to make sure that your stay in San Antonio is as memorable as possible. A few quick things about me, my favorite movie is the Graduate. My favorite band is Pink Floyd and my favorite book is 1984 by George Orwell. Also, I love basketball (playing and watching) and I am a huge Spurs fan. You'll be very hard pressed to find anyone in San Antonio who isn't. I'd love to have you stay with us and please feel free to email or call me with any questions you might have about the rental property or just life in general. I can't promise that I'll have all the answers on life but I'm pretty sure I'll know a thing or two about the property.

Dustin purchased this chateau / country house in 2007

Why Dustin chose San Antonio

This property is located in the countryside just east of San Antonio. I have lived in the area all of my life and I have a deep love for the friendly feel of the neighboring small towns just a few miles away. I definitely recommend attending either the Peanut Festival in Floresville (October) or the Bluebonnet Festival in La Vernia (May). Both towns are just a few miles away from the property. Both events feature a parade, carnival and live music. Of course, Downtown San Antonio isn't too shabby either. It is one of the most vibrant and culturally diverse cities in the country and this house is just a few minutes away from the downtown area. If you're going to be traveling here in April, don't miss out on your chance to be a part of Fiesta San Antonio, one of the largest and most exciting celebrations in the US. I personally think anyone who can, should make a trip out here just for that, its a blast!

What makes this chateau / country house unique

Believe me, there is plenty to love about this home. A few of my favorite features are the well-fed pond located to the west of the property. It's great for catch and release fishing but that doesn't mean that you can't pass the time by just relaxing out on the dock during a nice cool day and enjoy a good book. The dock also has a shaded area for those 'not so cool' days which we happen to have a lot of here in Texas. Another feature I love about this house is the enormous patio that runs the length of the home. It's great for cookouts and entertaining family and friends. Another great feature is the large stone fireplace that is centered in the spacious living room. It really accentuates the rustic features of the house, one of those being the beautiful tile flooring that runs throughout the home. Okay, just one more thing that I absolutely love about this property is its location. I'm not a big city kind of person so I love how the property is tucked away in the countryside on the outskirts of downtown. It's nice and quiet and I love that. However, it's also just a hop, skip and jump away from the beautiful city of San Antonio and all of its many attractions, including the AT&T Center if you're looking to catch a Spurs game while you're here (which I highly recommend.)

The location of this property is excellent. The house is located between Calaveras Lake and Braunig Lake, both of which have state funded parks which provide a variety of fun family activities such as boating and fishing. The house is just 11 miles away from Mission de Espada. The mission is the last in a chain of the 4 historic San Antonio missions all connected by The Mission Trail, an 8 mile hiking and biking trail that runs along the San Antonio river. If you're looking for some great food, just 10 miles away is Texas Pride BBQ and 14 miles away is Big Lou's pizzeria (both featured on the Food Network). Trust me when I tell you that they have some of the best grub in Texas. If you're making a trip to San Antonio to visit your new Air Force BMT grad, Lackland AFB is just 25 minutes away and the house is large enough to accommodate a large amount of guests. Floresville, Texas is located just a few miles to the south of the property and has some great restaurants (check out The Maverick Grill). It also has has some authentic antique shops located in the heart of the business district at the center of town. Let's not forget downtown San Antonio, the house is only 16 minutes away from the Alamo, the Tower of Americas, the Riverwalk and everything else that the vibrant city of San Antonio has to offer.
